Catalog Kick-Off Event - Love You Much Ensemble

Wow - Thank you to all of the ladies who attended my Catalog Kick-Off event.  It was a huge success!  One of the free projects everyone got to make was this "Love You Much" Valentine Ensemble.

 

The card is a 3x3 Love Note with envelope.  It features the Love You Much Bundle #115401 (with Candy Lane Paper and Heart to Heart punch).  Only one more day left to get your bundle (and free Valentine class PDF)...ends January 31st.

Cardstock is Riding Hood Red, Craft & Very Vanilla.  Birds were color Riding Hood Red with an Aquapainter and punched with the Wide Oval Punch.  Finished off with Riding Hood Red Double Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon.

The Friend to Friend wrap features the Big Shot die...Petal Card #113467.  Here's some assembly pictures:

Here's one of my display favorites!  I just love the way this card turned out!

 

Heart, "edging" and greeting are silver heat embossed.   Heat embossing is a great look for this stamp set.  The hat pin and beads are from the Pretties Kit.

Sweet Always: Valentine Project Reminder!

DOstamperSuperSTARS: Big Shot LOVE Banner!

Here's another awesome project shared by Terri Gaines at my DOstamperSuperSTARS event! 

She had made a glittery "Let It Snow" banner before the holidays that I fell in love with.  So I asked if she would be willing to share something with a Valentines theme.  I love what she came up with and so did everyone else!

 

Here's a closer view to see the sparkle.  In real life - this glitters with Dazzling Diamonds!

 

Tips:  Use the Scallop Circle #2 Big Shot Die (#113469) and Adhesive backed Fun Foam.  The white embossed heart is from the Love You Much Bundle and the letters are from the Riding Hood Red Patterns DSP and die cut with the Big Shot Serif Essentials Alphabet (#113464)

Feb 2nd & 3rd Technique Tuesday Class: Open to Everyone!

OK - so you've been asking for it. "Dawn...please open your club classes to non-members!"  OK, OK  - You've convinced me!

Beginning in February - All Classes, Stamp Camps and Events will be open to ANYONE!  (With the exception of my DOstamperSTARS team meetings.  You must be a demonstrator with my group to attend.  Though - you can get a sneak peak to see what all the fun is about!)

Here's the first upcoming class on February 2nd & 3rd:

TECHNIQUE TUESDAY OR MAKE-UP WEDNESDAY (Download monthly class schedule for future class dates)

At this monthly class, you will complete 3 projects.  Two technique cards that will either feature a stamping technique or a fancy fold technique.  Both will include an instruction reference card.  The 3rd project will feature a Big Shot technique.  Two class days to choose from.  Come anytime between the hours listed below.  All classes are in my home in Waverly, MN.  Class FEE:  $15.00 for non-members (or $5 w/$25 order), $5.00 for Hedgehog Stamping Club Members and DOstamperSTARS.

• Tue, Feb 3rd 4:30-9:00pm (open house style - plan to stay 1.5hr)
• Wed, Feb 4th 6:30-9:00pm (open house style - plan to stay 1.5hr)
• Must RSVP to Dawn by the Sunday before the class (Feb 1st)

Stampin' Up! Manager's Reception: Universal Studios

It was a night of fun, food and laughter!  We boarded a bus (lots of buses) and off we went to Universal Studios.  They sectioned off Islands of Adventure for us and we had the place to ourselves.

Let the Adventure Begin!

 

 

 

There were food stations everywhere.  Above was the coffee and dessert station.  The food was incredible!  Below is Kelly and I with Captain America (I think?)

 

 

These adorable flags were everywhere with stamp, swap, punch, crop, etc!  I love the little touches!

 

 

This was one of the rides that was open to us...no lines, no waiting.  It was a 3-D ride, so we had to wear the glasses.  It was way fun!

If someone would have told me 6 years ago that I would be a Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrator and enjoying sharing my hobby with others, attending fun events that I could have only imagined, traveling to exotic destinations for FREE - I would have totally laughed at them!

You see - I used to work for an Event Management company.  I was their Controller.  But every once in awhile I had to work at events like I get to attend now as a guest.  The behind the scenes work that goes into these type of events is enormous and tiring!  I never would have imagined that I would be on the receiving end!  I'm blessed to be a part of the Stampin' Up! family.  You never know...you could be too!

Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference

Last week I spent a few days in sunny Orlando for the Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference.  What a fabulous time!

Every January, Stampin' Up! offers a great training conference for its leaders.  Despite the fact that it's my busy season for my accounting business, I've never missed a Leadership Conference so far!  It's always well worth it and this time was no different.

 

 

Keep an eye out for this tagline.  You'll start to see it associated with Stampin' Up!  I think it's exactly what we do.

The classes were outstanding this year.  Many taught by successful demonstrators.  Even Shelli, co-founder and CEO of Stampin' Up! did a class this year.  As usual - the SU staff did a fabulous job organizing a wonderful event.

No boxes lunches at Leadership!

 

Besides a free stamp set and awesome make & takes (which I'll show you next week)...they also gave everyone a couple of Decor Elements.

 

Below is Kelly, my roommate.  I met her at Founder's Circle and we became fast friends.  Just another  great perk of being a Demonstrator with Stampin' Up!  I'm honored to meet the most wonderful women (and some men too!).

 

I'll leave you with this, a quote from Shelli..."You are at the right place, at the right time and with the right company..."

I completely agree.  In these times of economic uncertainty, people are turning to handmade gifts, cards and crafting.  As well as yearning to learn new things, being creative and sharing with others.  Make someone smile...send them a handmade card!
