Welcome to the September Tour de Freak tour which officially starts September 20th! We are so excited that you have joined us today on our fourth Blog Tour. This month we are featuring fall themed projects.
Our tour is nice and short and features some of your favorite Control Freaks Stampers. I'm stop #9, but you may have come here by way of Mary Brown's blog. If so, welcome! At the end of my post you will be directed to the next stop so make sure to keep on reading and don’t forget to click through to Shona Watson's blog (stop #10).
Sit back, relax and enjoy the tour!
First up is some table setting items using Stampin' Up!'s Table Setting Die for the Big Shot. This die will cut a tag, napkin holder, 2 leaves, hinge and place card. In addition, there is a swirl/coil shape that can be used to create a rose or pinecone. Below I used the pinecone as an embellshment on a basket as well a wine glass marker. I love the way the wine glass marker turned out!
To create the "pine needles", I used the the 2 die cut leaves and cut them into thin strips. I love the way they look!
For the basket, I cut strips of the new Autumn Meadows Designer Series Paper (for the Holiday Mini Catalog). Then weaved them in and out of the basket. They are not adhere anywhere on the basket. So when I get tired of the look, I can just change it out for each season.
The next card is my favorite!!! It features a beautiful technique called "Herringbone", which uses strips of the same Autumn Meadows Designer Series Paper. I just love the way this card turned out and will be teaching this technique next month.
Supplies: Holiday Best (hostess level one stamp set), Chocolate Chip, Really Rust, Taken with Teal and Very Vanilla Cardstock, Taken with Teal & Really Rust Markers, Chocolate Chip Double Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Ticket Corner Punch, Gold Brads, Stampin' Dimensionals.
I hope you enjoyed this stop on the Tour De Freaks Tour. We look forward to seeing you again on October 20th for our next Tour de Freaks Blog Tour!
Enjoy~Dawn O

I forgot to leave comments for the September blog tour posts, so I figured...better late than never! I love the DSP threaded through the basket weave. You are so clever :-) Thanks for sharing, and pinch your grandson's adorable little cheekers for me before he gets too big to protest! (peas)

Your basket is fabulous!!!!!!! The card brings me back to my formative days in New Mexico. It has the Native American flavor of the great Southwest. I definitely need to learn how to do that herringbone weave. You are just amazingly creative!!!!!

That herringbone technique looks pretty interesting. Can't wait to find out how to do it. Nice projects Dawn!

Your basket is absolutely gorgeous and I love the pinecones you created with the Big Shot die for both the basket and as the wine glass charms. The herringbone pattern is fantastic. What a show stopper!
