Oh my gosh...I'm feeling the love! You guys (that's Minnesotan for y'all) are lovin' the Pansies!! So as promised, today I'm sharing my Stamping Video on how to create these beautiful Butterfly Pansies Punch Art. This card is a Sympathy card, however it would make a beautiful Wedding card too!
Yes, just by using Stampin' Up!'s Butterfly Punch, Shimmer White Cardstock and Reinkers - you too can make your own pansies!
Here's the video:
If you are unable to view, click "Butterfly Pansies" to view on YouTube
1. Punch out two butterflies from Shimmer White cardstock (two for each flower).
2. Spritz them with water (allowing the water to pool)
3. Load Aqua Painter with Eggplant Envy ink (from a re-inker) and touch the brush to the outer edges of the butterflies. The ink will spread, but you might have to "help" it along.
4. Touch the middle with Summer Sun Ink (from a re-inker)
5. Let mostly dry (you can let sit, dab a little off, or heat set)
6. Curl edges (I used a skewer)
7. Use Eggplant Envy Marker lines to the center of the butterflies
8. Adhere one butterfly crosswise over the other with a gold brad
Don't have a Stampin' Up! Butterfly Punch (#119848)? Well, you can get one at my DOstamping Online Store. While there, don't forget to check out the Clearance items too!

Dawn,
Thank you so much for sharing your instructions. I had never heard of the "floating reinker technique" before. Beautiful work.

Hi Dawn: Not sure how I reached your video but sure glad I made the journey. I just love these beautiful pansy flowers. Since I live in Arizona, real pansy plants don't make it when the heat gets to 110 degrees or MORE...
Now I can have pansy blossoms whenever I want. Thanks for sharing your tips.

would blender pen work?

Thanks for sharing the video on how to make these. I have seen several other instructions, but none worked as beautifully as this. I used Elegant Eggplant - it is a bit dark but still looks great. Teamed it up with Crushed Curry for the centre (couldn't find my summer sun)
Posted by: Marjorie | April 26, 2010 at 04:50 PM
These are absolutely beautiful! I am amazed at how easy too! What current color can I substitute for Eggplant Envy? Is Elegant Eggplant too dark? Thanks so much!
Posted by: Leslie Jones | April 24, 2010 at 10:19 PM
So beautiful! I love these! Thanks for sharing how you did this :)
Posted by: Kathy | April 21, 2010 at 09:49 PM
OMG: I thought it must have been a new stamp that you coloured and cut out. Would never have thought it was a butterfly punch. Now that I look closely I can see how it works! Neat-Oh !

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the pansies here too!! Hmmm, no punch tho, maybe I can improvise :D You have to be getting enough of these with ALL the wonderful cards, etc you've done. I SOOOOO love the cream on cream tho, SO what's not to like on this card? Absolutely NOTHING. I should just make and make and sell and sell them...... NOT!! They'd be my $100 average each, as usual; I've been going through stuff and I think I should change it to $150 for my average. Do I REALLY need another flower stamp??? LOL ....OF COURSE! :D
