Today's card is a clean and simple (cas) Handmade Christmas Card. If you're running low on time and need a quick card - you're gonna love The Open Seas, Peace on Earth Card.
That's right, it uses the Open Seas stamp set, a traditionally male stamp set. However, the "earth" image is perfectly suited to coordinate with the Peace on Earth greeting from the 2012 Holiday Catalog stamp set, Greetings of the Season. Die cut it with the Holiday Ornament Framelits and in no time at all, you're good to go!
This version I paired with the Northern Flurry TIEF
This one I paired with the Woodgrain TIEF
(from the 2012 Holiday Catalog).
I'm not sure which one I like the best. I'm leaning towards the Woodgrain background. It's a little bit non-traditional for Christmas. But I think it suits the theme and message for this card. What about you...which do you prefer?
Enjoy~Dawn O

Hi Dawn,
Love both cards, but if I had to choose I would go with the Northern Flurry one. I didn't order this sentiment because I figured I had enough Christmas phrases BUT now that I've seen it used like this I guess I'm just going to have to order it!!!
Peace, Love & Joy,
Joyce

Wonderful! I love the way your mind works Miss Dawn. What a perfect blend mixing the Peace text with the globe to bring the statement to life. While I like them both I think I love the snowflake one best. After all flakes cover the earth/globe (in more ways than one right? - grin) and that's my hope for peace as well. Then again the woodgrain could be the planking on a ship too. Nope...still have to vote for the flakes.
Hugs and Blessings - Jean

Oh, this is so clever!! I am going to mix these two sets together now and CASE your gorgeous card! I love both, but am a wee bit more partial to the woodgrain EF background.

This is AWESOME. I love the woodgrain bg with the ornament idea. Very organic and serene.

Oops, I meant Vastness.

I actually like the wood grain because I think it looks like the swirls of the ocean and the fastness of the world. Lovely.

I love the flurry card!!!!

I think they are both just beautiful but I am kind of leaning toward the snowflake embossed as a favorite. Great job!

I feel like the flurry card is more balanced and interesting, the ornament looks sort of stiff on the wood... but that is just me...
I love the way the ornament really "reads" as an ornament on the flurry card, too.
So cool to see the map stamp used this way -- I hadn't considered it!
