Owl Together Now Shadow Box Card

Here's one of the projects from my Technique Tuesday class this month.  This fun-fold card was featured in one of Stampin' Up!'s demonstrator magazines.  It's a Shadow Box card and very easy to do. 

SHADOW BOX CARD Instructions

1.  Cut two, 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" cardstock panels 
2.  Score 1/2" & 1" on both sides of each panel
3.  Make a window (or several windows like the card below) in the "front" panel
4.  Decorate the "inside" panel
5.  Adhere ends together with sticky strip

This card was a huge hit at the class!

Supplies:  Owl Together Now stamp set, Soft Suede, Melon Mambo, Kraft, Whisper White, Bermuda Bay cardstock, In-Color Markers, 1", 1 1/4", 1 3/8", 1 3/4", Scallop Circle Punches, Basic Black & Chocolate Chip Ink, Melon Mambo Polka Dot Ribbon

Stampin' Up!: Happy Together stamp set

Here's an adorable card made with my new Stampin' Up! stamp set, Happy Together!  In fact, I received this stamp set as an award for my recruiting efforts last year.  It was on my wish list anyways, so I was excited that I got it for free!  Just another demonstrator perk!

I took my color combo from the Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper - Crushed Curry & Pumpkin Pie.

It's such a cheery card.  Don't you just wanna smile?  I made a dozen of these to keep on hand for upcoming birthdays!  Who knows, maybe you'll get one.

Tour De Freaks August Blog Hop Tour!

Welcome to the August Tour de Freak tour!  We are so excited to have you join us today on our third Tour de Freaks Blog Tour.  This month we are  featuring projects made with the new Stampin' Up! 2009/2010 IN-COLORS...Aren't they fabulous this year?  The best yet - IMHO!

On to the projects...

My first two projects feature the gorgeous "Cottage Wall" Designer Series Paper with Rich Razzleberry!

I love this double heart card.  So easy to do. 

Instructions:  Cut your Pale Plum card front in the Mover and Shapers die with the heart shape die.  Then leaving the cardstock in place, slide the heart shape over so it over laps the previous cut heart and cut again.  I also ran it through the Big Shot again, this time using the Stampin' Up! Backgrounds I Texturz Plate.  Attach a couple of Full Heart punches and Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot ribbon and you're done.  Quick & Easy, but cute!!

Next is a Petal Card Window Box. 

 

I just LOVE the way this box turned out.   So freakin' cute!! 

Instructions:  Just die cut, with the Big Shot, four Petal Cards from Old Olive cardstock.  Attach them together side by side (with Sticky Strip).  I punched the window with the 1-1/4" circle punch, then adhered a window sheet over it.  The decorative outside layer was punched with the 1-3/8" circle punch.  Added a butterfly cut from the Beautiful Butterflies die cut.  Attached it with a square rhinestone brad. The bottom and top are just folded up (kinda like a chinese takeout box).  Then tie it up Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot Ribbon!

Now moving on to another In-Color...Dusty Durango. 

 

I'd like to introduce you to Kitty Kat.  Even my husband liked this card.  That says a lot!  Just a little fun with punches and Kitty Kat comes together quickly.  The greeting is from the Really Retro stamp set #113754  (on the Dormant List, but still available).

Last, but not least...Here's a little bit of Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo (which I think is my favorite of the In Colors!)

Meet Miss Mermaid...

 

The greeting is from the Full of Life stamp set #111500.  Ok - so this one is a little more time consuming, but well worth the effort.  Can you guess which punches were used to create her?

DOstamperSTARS Swaps - Circle Circus

I had my monthly DOstamperSTARS meeting on Saturday and a GREAT time was had by all.  It was so much fun seeing everyone.  The sharing was awesome at this meeting.  We had a potluck and a couple of make & takes, a fun catalog hunt game and more.  We ended with a shoebox swap - which is always a favorite!

I guess the "IN" stamp set to have is the Circle Circus.  I don't own it yet, but after this weekend, it did get added to my wish list.  Here are a few of the swap cards made with it.

Brayed Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

What a mouthful...Try to say that 3 times fast! 

This fun and EASY technique was another project we did at my Technique Tuesday Class last week.

Just brayer ink (lots of it) onto your Embossing Folder, then run it through Big Shot as normal.  You'll love the stunning results!

Here's a close up of the Stampin' Up! Thanks Embosslit.  Cuts and embosses at the same time.  For this "medallion", I cut two.  One in white and one is Rich Razzleberry.  Use a sponge dauber to add ink (or chalk) to the raised "thanks" to help it stand out better.  I layered it with the square scallop punch. 

Supplies:  Rich Razzleberry Cardstock and Ink, Whisper White, Brayer #102395, Sponge Dauber #102892, Big Shot Die Cutting Machine #113439, Finial Press Embossing Folder #115963, Thanks Embosslit #115957, Scallop Square Punch, Silver Brads, Stampin' Dimensionals.

Tri-Fold Shutter Card & Party Hearty

As promised, here are the dimensions and more pictures for the Tri-Fold Shutter Card we did last week at my Technique Tuesday class.  I'm lovin' the Thoroughly Modern Designer Series Paper!!!

Supplies:  Party Hearty & Birthday Wish stamp set (on dormant list), Bermuda Bay Cardstock, Ink and Ribbon, Melon Mambo Cardstock and Ink, Whisper White Cardstock, Thoroughly Modern Designer Series Paper, 3/4" & 1" Circle Punches, Paper Trimmer w/Scoring Blade and Stampin' Dimensionals.

Directions:
1.  Cut cardstock to 10-1/2" x 5-1/2"
2.  In landscape - score each end 1-3/4" & 3-1/2"
3.  Turn and CUT at the 1-1/2" mark from the first scored mark to the last scored mark.  Do the same on the other side.
4.  Fold and decorate!

Technique Tuesday Sneak Peak: Kind & Caring Thoughts

Here's a sneak peak at one of the cards we'll be making at my July 28th/29th Technique Tuesday class.

It features Stampin' Up!s Hostess Level 3 stamp set, Kind & Caring Thoughts.  I received this card from my friend Patty Bennett.  It's so freakin' cute!  I immediately knew I would have to do it for my class.  Thanks Patty!

Tour De Freaks July Blog Hop Tour!

Woohoo, I'm excited to share some projects made with my favorite new Designer Series Paper - Razzleberry Lemonade.  I can't get enough of it!  Also - it seems that each of today's projects have a Big Shot element too!  Love the Big Shot!  So sit back, relax and enjoy!

On to the projects...

First up is a card using the NEW "On a Pedestal" stamp set. 

Ain't it cute?  I got to use my new In-Color markers.  I'm IN love with them!  Plus half a Top Note Die at the bottom for a fun look!

Supplies:  NEW On a Pedestal stamp set, NEW Melon Mambo Marker, Cardstock & Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon, NEW Rich Razzleberry Ink & Cardstock, Pumpkin Pie Marker & Cardstock, Real Red Ink, Whisper White Cardstock, NEW Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series Paper, Big Shot Die Cutting Machine, Top Note Die, Stampin' Dimensionals

Next up is a quick & easy technique card using the NEW Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder.

I put a piece of NEW Razzleberry Lemonade DSP into the NEW Elegant Bouquet Embossing folder and ran it through the Big Shot Machine.  Using a Sanding Block, sand off the raised embossed parts to reveal the white core of the paper.  Add a greeting and you're done!

Supplies:  NEW Kind & Caring Thoughts Stamp Set (Hostess Level 3), NEW Rich Razzleberry & Whisper White Cardstock, NEW Rich Razzleberry Ink, NEW Raspberry Lemonade DSP, 1-3/8" Circle, Scalloped Oval, NEW Modern Label Punches, Sanding Block, Big Shot Die Cutting Machine, NEW Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder, Stampin' Dimensionals

Next card features a fun Top Note Cutting Trick & the NEW Razzle Dazzle Stamp Set.

I was introduced to this fun trick at the Minneapolis Regional Seminar back in April.  The demonstrator referred to it as the "Trenton", who is her son.  I guess he was playing around with her Big Shot machine and came up with it.

Use the Big Shot to cut a Top Note, then take that cut piece and turn it 45 degrees and cut it again with the Top Note.  The "Trenton" Top Note is stamped with the NEW Razzle Dazzle stamp set.

Supplies:  New Razzle Dazzle & All Holidays stamp set, NEW Crushed Curry Cardstock, Ink & Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon, NEW Rich Razzleberry Cardstock & Ink, Whisper White Cardstock, NEW Razzleberry Lemonade DSP, Big Shot Die Cutting Machine, Top Note Die, Stampin' Dimensionals.

Here's my last project.  A fun little Scallop Envelope Mini Purse with Surprise Gift!

Hmm...what's in there?

Ain't it adorable!  OK, now I know what you're asking.  Dawn, where did you find the Melon Mambo colored measuring tape?  Unfortunately - I purchased it at JoAnn's several years ago.  They were clearancing them (along with Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay colored ones)!  Are you like me?  You find something on sale and you think...I know I can find a use for this someday.  Well today is the someday!

I cut a strip of Razzleberry Lemonade DSP to go around the edge and used a 1" circle punch for the center piece.  I was giddy with the way it turned out!

Supplies:  Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry & Rish Razzleberry Cardstock, Razzleberry Lemonade DSP, Crushed Curry Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon, Big Shot Die Cutting Machine, Scallop Envelope Die, Bird & Blooms Sizzlet Die, Gold Brads, 1" Circle Punch

DOdesign Team: Introducing Laurie & Circle Circus Day #3

Today I'm sharing the rest of Laurie's DOdesign Team projects made with Circle Circus.

This card features the Fauz Diamond Dust Technique:  Stamp your images on Whisper White cardstock.  Direct-to-paper, cover the entire stamped piece with Versamark Ink.  Add Irridescent Ice Embossing Powder and heat.

DOdesign Team: Introducing Laurie & Circle Circus, Day #2

Welcome to Day#2 of DOdesigner Laurie Zoellmer's projects!

Today I'm sharing a super cute Triple Fold card Laurie made with the yummy Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series paper!

 

 

I just LOVE all of the details on this card.  The use of the In-Color markers of the greeting (my favorite greeting from the All Holidays stamp set) is fabulous.  Look at those clear buttons with the hemp twine - cute stamping behind them.  Colors are Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo & Crushed Curry.

 

Here are a couple of 6x6 projects.  One is a scrapbook page and the other a card.  They both use the same materials.  The colors are Soft Suede and Bermuda Bay.

DOdesign Team: Introducing Laurie & Circle Circus

With the release of the 2009-2010 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog, I invited one of my DOstamperSTARS to join my DOdesign Team.  She accepted and created some fabulous samples I'll be sharing with you this week.

First off, let me know introduce you to...Laurie Zoellmer

I met Laurie 2 years ago at a party I did for one of my Scrapbooking Club Members.  I immediately knew she would join Stampin' Up!  Why?  Because she had so much enthusiam and knowledge of the Stampin' Up! product.  She even finished my sentences!  So I sent her home with some information and suggested she contact her current demonstrator about the Stampin' Up! opportunity.  Imagine my surprise and delight when she contacted me a couple months later about joining my team. 

She's been such a blessing to have on my team.  I love to see her smiling face at my events.  She does fabulous work and has generously shared her talents several times at my DOstamperSTAR meetings.  If fact - she was recently one of my DOstamperSUPERSTARS!

DOstamperSTARS: Razzleberry Lemonade SuperSTAR Party!

Here's the box my SuperSTARS got to make for their Razzle Dazzle cards posted yesterday.

DOstamping Team: Razzle Dazzle In Colors & SuperSTAR Party!

I had a blast this weekend with my DOstamperSTARS - SuperSTAR acheivers!  We ate, laughed, crafted, laughed, shared, ate some more, laughed...well, you get it!  We had a great time!

These gals are my top acheivers and I like to pamper them with a fun night of doing what they love to do - STAMP!

We started off by making new IN-COLOR charts.  Download your own IN-COLOR chart HERE.

 

Then we made a set of beautiful, yet simple cards (and matching envelopes) featuring some of the new In Colors & Ribbon and two new stamp sets to be release July 1st called Razzle Dazzle and Teeny Tiny Wishes.

You'll notice a NEW PUNCH!  It's called "Modern Label".  The white punch outs were made with the punch.  The mat behind it was made with a NEW MOVER & SHAPER DIE.  It comes in a set of 4 (with a scallop oval, heart & star shape).  They are magnetic die shapes designed to be used with the Stampin' Up! Movers & Shapers Curly Label Die.  It's sooo cool!  I'm lovin' it and you will too!

Now of course - a set of cards like this will need a cute box to put them in!  I'll share that tomorrow.

12th Day of Christmas: Deck the Halls & Big Shot JOY!

This Holiday Stamp-a-Stack card was inspired by a fellow stamper - Kay aka SpeedyStamper.  It features a Holiday Mini Stamp set called a Season of Friendship.   This is a very versatile set.  It features the tree image, plus several other images including the bird, snowflake, flower, leaf and friendship greeting.  Making it great to use throughout the entire year!

 

Supplies used:  Season of Friendship, Best Yet Level one Hostess Set (for greeting), Sanded Background stamp sets, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip & Whisper White (cardstocks and inks).  Punches = Large and Wide Ovals & Scallop Edge.  Chocolate Chip 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon and Dazzling Diamonds (which was applied with 2-way glue pen in the center of the snowflakes...hard to see from the picture).

5th Day of Christmas: Big Shot, Big on Christmas

I sure love using my Big Shot Die Cutting machine!  It's so much fun and makes papercrafting easy and fast! 

This card would have been cute without the snowflake, but now it's super cute with the addition of the Big Shot Snowflakes #2 Original Die (#113460 for $15.95).

 

This project also features the adorable Frosty Day Designer Series Paper (#113057 for $9.95) from the Holiday Mini Catalog.

Halloween Test Tube

What's a Party without a party favor?  Not a very good one, I guess - LOL! 

Here's my final project that everyone got to do at the Sock Monkey PJ Party Stamp Camp.  Another demonstrator, Lisa S designed these adorable test tube holders.  When I saw it - I knew my campers would love to make this project.  Of course - I made one for my kids too!

 

Supplies used:  Batty for You stamp set, Basic Black, Kiwi Kiss & Whisper White cardstock, Ghostly Greetings Designer Paper Series (See above sample), Basic Black & Kiwi Kiss classic inks, Circle punhces:  1-3/8", 1-1/4", 1", Stampin' Dimensionals, Paper Trimmer w/Scoring Blade, Kiwi Kiss In-Color Ribbon, Test Tubes found at the local craft store prior to Halloween)

 

Here's a group picture of all of the projects everyone made at the Sock Monkey PJ Party Stamp Camp (plus a mini treat bucket).  I've received some wonderful feedback about this event .  I may have to consider another PJ Party style stamp camp in the future!

Party Hearty - Masculine

Here's another fun card from the Sock Monkey PJ Party!  This time my inspiration came from another demonstrator - Angie T.  I changed up the color for a more masculine card.  Actually - this card could go either way, don't you think?

This is such an easy/quick card to make, but has so many fun features!  From the NEW Top Note die (used on the inside and outside of the card) to the NEW Curly Label punch and NEW mini Library Clips.   The Let's Celebrate is from the NEW On Your Birthday stamp set.  I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to center it in the image from the Curly Label Punch Bundle (#112966, $33.95 for the punch and matching stamp set).

Big Shot: Purse, Bird Scallop Envelope

I'm lovin' my Stampin' Up! Sizzix Big Shot!  I just can't stop using it.  It's sooo much FUN! 

Last month I started my monthly BIG SHOT TUESDAY club classes.  I'll be doing a series of 4 classes to teach people how to use their BIG SHOT (all classes will repeat next year - you can start at anytime!)  BIG SHOT Class #2 is coming up this Tuesday at 6:30pm.  I'm prepping some fun projects for that class.

In the meantime, here are a couple of fun cards.  The first one is from last month's class and the second one is a "case" from someone else.

Sep Stamp Camp Project - Dreams DuJour

This is the last and my favorite card from the "Cross the Border" Stamp Camp.  There are so many things I love about this card.  The glittered background paper, the "Scallop Buckle", the Shimmer Paper used for the focal point image.  It all came together so nicely...I love it when that happens!

 

Isn't this beautiful?!

 

Tips: 

1)  To get your own economical glittered background paper...Just add 2-way glue and glitter, and viola!  Beautiful paper without the expense!

2)  Scallop Buckle Feature is so easy to do.  Start with a 2 3/4" square.  Use the scallop edge punch on all four sides, centering the punch on each side.  Quick and easy!

Oh - forgot to mention...you can get this stamp set for FREE in October and November when you hostess a workshop (or have a catalog party) that totals $350.00.  (Actually, any set from the set sampler can be chosen.) Sep Stamp Camp Project - The Fish!

Last month I had my "Cross the Border" stamp camp which featured different ways to use the Stampin' Up! Scallop Edge Punch. 

This punch is traditionally used to create a scallop edge border, like the scallop edges shown on the fish card below.  However, there are some clever demonstrators out there that have discovered some out-of-the-box ways to use this fun punch.  I'll share my projects throughout the week.

Sept Tech Tues #2 - "Spring" Card

Here's our 2nd project for my Technique Tuesday Member-Only Class.  This too, was inspired by a Convention Workshop Wow presentation.  It's called a "Spring" card. 

    

   

You'll need the 1 3/4" Circle Punch, paper snips and glue dots.  Punch your circle, then cut it into a spiral.  Glue dot the center to the bottom of the card.  Then put a glue dot on the beginning of the sprial and close your card.  It will stick to the other side - aligning perfectly.  Open and voila!
