For My Grandsons: Mickey Mouse Punch Art Card

Since we've returned from the Stampin' Up! incentive trip to Disney World with our grandsons Max and Sam, they are still talking about their delightful experience.  I was so thrilled that we could give them this experience.  I dare say...if I hadn't earned a free trip to Disney World through Stampin' Up!, we probably wouldn't have made the trip at their young age.  As it turn out...the visits with the Disney Characters created a lot of memories for those two little boys.  And me too, as I watched their surprise and delight throughout the trip.  Just priceless! 

As they both had birthdays recently, Max turned 5 and Sammy turned 3, I made them each a Mickey Mouse Punch Art card with a little surprise inside.  They were a hit.

Isn't this cute?  Max knew what it was right away...chocolate!  That's right.  I picked up some Disney Character Chocolate Coins while at Disney World.  He popped it in his mouth so fast, his mom didn't even realize there was chocolate in the card. Below is Sam pretending to read his card - how cute!

I do have a few tips for making a successful Mickey Mouse, so be check to out the video below.

Minnie Mouse Tip:  just move Mickey's bow time to the top of the head and you now have Minnie Mouse!!  I show a sample of her in the video - at the end.

Got Milk? Cow Punch Art Video

So...are you like me?  Do you wander through stores thinking, oh that would make a cute stamping project?  Or oh, that would be a fun packaging idea!  I always seem to have my stamping "thinking hat" on.  So when I was at our local grocery store a few months ago, I came across some Got Milk?, Magic Milk Flavoring Straws and just had to get some. 

With Punch Art as the swap theme for our DOstamperSTARS Monthly Get-Together last week, I thought about those straws and decided on a COW!  With Stampin' Up! Punches, the cow turned out great.  In fact, I'm giddy with excitement on how stinkin' adorable he turned out.  I think we're gonna use them for my grandson's Max's birthday party this month.

If you look closely, you'll see that I used the Owl Builder punch.  Who knew, that an owl could be a cow!  He, he!

SAB Quilted Elementary Elegance

Tomorrow, March 31st is the last day of Sale-a-Bration!  Can you believe it?  It's also my daughter Angie's birthday.  So I thought I'd share a birthday card today and one last Sale-a-Bration card, using the Elementary Elegance Stamp set and Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper (both free with $50 order).

Dawn's Instructions: 

1. Punch out 4 squares of Everyday Enchantment DSP with the Postage Stamp punch.
2. Adhere them to piece of 2-5/8" square of Very Vanilla cardstock
3. Run through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Texture Embossing Folder
4. Adhere to piece of 2-3/4" square of Peach Parfait cardstock
5. Adhere to piece of 3" square of Pool Party cardstock
6. Adhere to piece of 4" x 5-1/4" Peach Parfait cardstock with Stampin' Dimensionals
7. Add Pool Party Seam Binding Ribbon and Everyday Enchantment Brad (SAB Choice!)
8. Adhere to base of 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" folded Very Vanilla
9. Stamp "shadow" leftover rubber from Elementary Elegance Stamp Set with Pool Party ink (I stamped off).  Then stamp Happy Birthday with Peach Parfait ink.
10. Punch with Curly Label Punch and adhere with Stampin' Dimensionals
11. Add Butterfly with Mini Glue Dot (from Beautiful Wings Embosslit)
12. Enjoy!

Wow Wednesday: Everyday Enchantment Hat Box, Recycled Stamp & Store Containers

If you're anything like me, you have a few empty Stampin' Up! brad/button containers laying around.  Today's project puts them to good use with this Everyday Enchantment Recycled Container Hat Box.

This was one of my Leadership Sale-a-Bration Presentation Projects.  Definitely one of my favorites.  One of my hostesses favorites too, as they each received one as a gift from me for having an in-home workshop during Sale-a-Bration - only THREE more days!

A.  The Hat Box itself is very easy and pretty quick to make.
B.  The Faux Suede Flower - though not hard, does take some time to make
C.  The Hat Pin bow uses an easy Multi-Loop Fork Bow Technique

Shelli inspired Elegant Bird and SAB Everyday Enchantment DSP

I don't know about you, but I totally overlooked the new Stampin' Up! Elegant Bird Die from the 2012 Occasions Mini Catalog (pg 10).  I thought it seemed too big for a card and really, it just wasn't my style.  Well - how wrong was I?  I'm now totally in love with it.  That's because I saw several ways to use the Elegant Bird Die on Shelli Gardner's Blog, CEO and Co-Founder of Stampin' Up!  She totally won me over and I had to get it!
