Last Minute Valentines: Hearts For You Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

Today I'm sharing a couple of cute Valentine's Day cards using the Hearts For You Paper Pumpkin Kit.

How'd She DO That? Hearts For You card #1

• Stamps: Hearts For You (PP-Jan 2025)
• Paper:
  • Basic White Thick (11" x 4-1/4" card base) 
  • Basic White (3-1/8" x 4-1/2" stamp top half with hearts, 1/4" x 2-1/4" for sentiment) 
  • Basic Black (3-3/16" x 4-5/8", 11/16" x 3-1/8") 
  • Diagonal Striped Kit card base (trim 2" from top front of card - save card for next project.  Then trim 2" piece to 3-1/8", save leftover piece for next project)
  • Hearts border from kit - trim to 5 hearts
• Ink:  Real Red, Tuxedo Black Memento
• Other:  Paper Trimmer, aper Snips, Stampin' Seal, Glue Dots & Foam Adhesive Sheets
• Tip: finish with heart gems and twine from kit

 

 

 

How'd She DO That? Hearts For You card #2

• Stamps: Hearts For You (PP-Jan 2025)
• Paper:
  • Diagonal Striped Kit card base, 1-1/8" x 2"  - both pieces leftover from previous project 
  • Basic White (scrap for 2 x 2-3/4" Perennial Postage die cut, 1/4" x 2-1/4" for sentiment) 
  • Real Red (2-1/4" x 3") 
  • Hearts border from kit - trim to 3 hearts
  • Gold Sticker from kit
• Ink:  Real Red
• Other:  Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Perennial Postage Dies, Adhesive-Backed Heart Sequins, Stampin' Seal & Foam Adhesive Sheets
• Tip:  Only adhere the bottom half of the focal point to the front of the card.

DOstamping Tips:

• The floral image I used actually has "handmade by:" in the middle.  A great way to mark the back of you cards.  
• But I wanted to use the image as my focal point.  That's easy to do by just covering up of the middle with a sentiment.
• On a scrap of white, stamp floral/handmade by image with Old Olive ink.  Then color with Stampin' Write markers - using the bullet tip:
  • leaves with Old Olive
  • flowers with Fresh Freesia
  • dot flower center with Gorgeous Grape
  • cut out with 2" Circle Punch

I love the way this give that image dual purposes - yay!

DOstamping Sale-a-Bration Inspiration - Day #1: Create Background Paper with Natural Botanicals!

Welcome to DOstamping Sale-a-Bration Inspiration - Day #1!

Today I'm featuring the following Sale-a-Bration products:

• Newly added Level I choice, Natural Botanicals stamp set (SAB# 168095)
• Level I choice, Toadstool Gardens 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (164942)

 

I created my own background paper by using a half sheet of 8-1/8" x 11" white cardstock (5-1/2" x 8-1/2").  Also know as a One Sheet Wonder.  I cut it up to get 7 cards!  

DOstamping Tips:

• Using the Natural Botanicals stamp set.  This is a "reversals" stamp set.  Meaning the detailed image is on one side and the solid image is on the other side of the same stamp.  Stamp as follows:
  • Start with largest image first, working down to the smallest image
  • Stamp large leaf outline image with Granny Apple Green ink, then reverse side with Soft Seafoam ink
  • Stamp flower with stem outline image with Pumpkin Pie ink, then reverse side with Peach Pie ink (stamped off)
  • Stamp small flower outline image with Melon Mambo ink, then reverse side with Pretty in Pink ink
• When done stamping the entire piece, cut as follows:
  • Cut the piece in half the long way at 2-3/4", then cut one piece into 3 pieces of 2-3/4" squares (there will be a small piece leftover)
  • Cut the other piece into 4 pieces of 2-1/8" x 2-3/4"
