Fond Farewell Countdown #8

Today I’m featuring the stamp set "All About U" found on page 145 in the 2007 Fall/Winter Collection click here to view.

Project #1 - This card was cased from my friend Debbie Olson

This is a great card for a teenager - who is probably into text messaging.  It features the "U" from this set, "HB" is from "It's Your Birthday" (not retiring).  You can use any "2".  If you look closely - I've added some shading with a marker and an white accent with our fabulous White Gel Pen.

Project #2 - Scrapbook Page

Not only is "All About U" a great set for cards, but for scrapbooking too.  My hubby caught this fish a couple of years ago and I just had to scrapbook the pictures.  For the U...I swiped a Bordering Blue Craft Ink pad across the U stamp.  Then stamped it onto Not Quite Navy.  Covered it with Crystal Clear EP and Heat Embossed.  IRL - it looks a little "icy".

Spring Flower Bouquet Punch Questions

OK - so I've received a lot of questions about this punch...which is retiring.  So I thought I would share a couple of projects from my "Getting Punchy" stamp camp which was held this past October.

Project #1 - the TURKEY CARD

First of all - here is what the Spring Flower Bouqet punch and punch-outs looks like (found on page 183 #32)

Next - Trim the flowers as shown in the photo

Now add them to the "Turkey" made with the scallop punch for a fun Thanksgiving card!  Ain't he cute?  Happy Thanksgiving greeting is from the "Holidays & Wishes" stamp set - view here.

Project #2 - Pointsettia Card (I saw the top card on SCS)

The center green flower is from the Spring Flower Bouquet Punch.  The larger flower(s) uses the 5-Petal Flower Punch.  The embossed flower is from "Ginormous Flowers" stamp set - view here.  The greeting is from the "Many Merry Messages" stamp set - view here.

Hope that helps.  I'm sure gonna miss this punch!!

Fond Farewell Countdown #7 (Plus bonus Technique)

Today I’m featuring the stamp set "Friendship Flowers" found on page 147 in the 2007 Fall/Winter Collection found here.  This is an overlooked set, but the greetings that come with it are just wonderful.  I don't know about you - but I never have enough greeting/verses.

The card below also features a technique that I taught at a Technique Tuesday class for my stamping club members earlier this year called "Melted Pearls".  Instructions:  heat emboss image with Crystal Clear embossing powder.  Let it cool slightly, then dab on Pearl Ex powder (we no longer carry this powder - but Stampin' Pastels might work too), with a sponge dauber over the embossed image.  Reheat.  After cooled, wipe off excess powder.

Hope you enjoy today's sample.  To make these kinds of cards and learn new techniques - join a club.  See club info here on how to join.  Clubs forming now for 2008!

Fond Farewell Countdown #6

Week two of the Fond Farewell Countdown begins with the stamp set "Looks Like Spring" found here.  This beautiful card features the "Spring Flower Bouquet" punch - which is also retiring.

The sample above was a swap I received at a Stampin' Up! annual convention (created by Lesley Bowles).  I really like her card because of all of the layers.  The main image was created by stamping and cutting out the large flower.  She added Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the tips for a great touch of bling.  Then she layered the smaller flowers with a vintage brad.  The smaller flowers were punched from the "Spring Flower Bouquet" punch.

Week One - Blog Candy Goes To...

Fond Farewell Week #1 is done.  Hope you enjoyed the samples I shared with you.

Thank you to those who visited my new blog and a bigger thank you to those of you who left comments (your entries were put into my weekly Fond Farewell drawing).  The blog candy for this week is from my retired items.  Congratulations goes out to the following:

#8 - Kim Griggs - receives the retired "Letter Patterns" stamp set

#10 - Kris Peikert - receives a container of retired "Hologram Highlights" Embossing Powder.

As Kim and Kris are both club members...I'll include your prizes in with your orders when they arrive.

Thanks for participating.  Don't forget week #2, plus I'm gonna extend the Fond Farewell into week #3.  Just a reminder...The only way to win free Stampin' Up! product is to leave a comment on my blog.  Come join in the fun!

Thanks to Santa and Mrs Claus for handing out the prizes (oh...and Rudoph too)

Hatlesssnowman_4 Oh, I'm so sad to see "Cold Play" go.  I have a special affinity with this stamp set.

I don't enter many contests or send in many cards for publication - however, I did submit a card for a Stampin' Up! monthly contest with this card.  Image how disappointed I was when it was not selected.  However, they later published it as an honerable mention in "On Stage" (a SU publication for demonstrators).  I was I received a free stamp set.  Love free rubber!

It is a fun card and I've enjoyed sharing it with lots of people.  I hope you enjoy it too.

December Stamp Club Projects

Wow - Tuesday we got a lot of snow here in the Twin Cities on my club night.  Some club members were able to brave the weather and other's moved their stamping time to Wednesday - my make up night.  For those who were unable to make either night...I'm posting the projects here so you can assemble your stamped technique cards at home.  The first project uses the "Watercolor Misting" technique, an easy and quick way to achieve a watercolor look.  A perfect technique for someone like me who is watercolor challenged.

The second project is "Brad Bling".  This was a fun and simple card to make.

Wanna have fun and learn stamping techniques.  Join a CLUB.  These popular clubs are filling up fast with new ones starting after the first of the year.  Check out my club info here.    Project_sample_2 Closeup
