Just a quick reminder for Stamping Club Members...

Your RSVP is due on Sunday for the March Technique Tuesday class.

Here's a sneak peak at our 2nd technique project.  It's a two-fer!  What's a two-fer?  Two techniques on one card.  We'll be doing Emboss Resist and a fun dyed Crystal Effects technique on the new Silver Hodgepodge Hardware (from the Occasions Mini Catalog).  You're gonna love it!

Don't forget - you can start ordering from the Occasions Mini Catalog starting March 1st!

Rescued Tin = Beautiful Gift

OK - here it is...the rescued tin.  I have a customer who's husband was going to throw the tin away.  Sandy rescued it and gave to me.  I guess most of my customers know of my affinity with altering tins!  My best friend, Pam's birthday was fast approaching so I decorated it for her and added some cards/envelopes (which fit perfectly inside the tin).

Here's the newly re-purposed tin.  What do you think?

Tin2

Ain't it gorgeous?  It's based on the card in yesterday's post.  Though I added Crystal Effects to the small blossoms.  Below you can see the CE on the flowers.  Pam loved it!

My Favorite Embrace Life Sample #3

I think this is my favorite sample of the Embrace Life stamp set.  I love the stamping on the Ginger Blossom DSP layer.  If you look close, the black "fern-like" images are actually stamped on the DSP.  I saw this idea on Splitcoaststampers (great place for creative ideas).  This card was fun to watercolor too.  Plus I added a bit of bling with a clear rhinestone brad from the awesome "Pretties Kit".

Watch for my next post.  It will feature a similiar design on a discarded tin that one of my customers rescued for me - thanks Sandy!

From the "Archives"...Notes of Love card-published

Lovenotes_2

OK - so this is the card that was published a couple of years ago.   They spelled my name wrong, but that's nothing new.  Most people want to put an "i" at the end instead of a "e".

I don't generally submit projects for publication.  That's mostly because I generally case or get inspired from other creative people.  However, every once in a while...I do come up with something on my own.  And sometimes those creative moment timings coincide with a call for certain types of cards.  This was one of those times.  It was selected for a Valentines/Love theme for the Rubber Stamper magazine.

I just love the way the portion of the "Love" is used for the musical note lines.  My family is very musical, so this was a hit for Valentines Day that year.

Most everything on this card is retired now, with the exception of "Itty Bitty Backgrounds" & "Wonderful Words".  The musical notes came from the retired set "Mini Mates".

Thanks for endulging me!
