Hawaii: Stampin' Up! General Session

As always on the annual incentive trip, Pam Morgan shares the new In-Colors with us.  You'll love them when they are released on July 1st.  But in the meantime - we are sworn to secrecy!  We also saw a couple new stamp sets and Big Shot Dies.  Can't wait to get my hands on them.

Here are some projects I can share that Pam Morgan demonstrated using products from the upcoming Occasions Mini Catalog:

Pam-Matchbox

Matchbox Die with Window Sheet Cover

Pam-WindowButterfly

More Window Sheet Samples

Pam-WindowFlowers

Pam-SmGrommet

New Grommet Samples - the above sample uses the small grommets and the one below uses the Large Grommet.

Pam-LgGrommet

I would love to share Brent Steele's projects, but they were with new products to be released July 1st.  However, I can share a new "manly" tool that he designed...

Brent-CircularSaw

He always has something fun up his sleeve.  This got a big laugh from my husband.

That's it for General Session.  After that we headed off to the tram shuttle to Queen's Marketplace for a little shopping.  Actually - we would have loved to have gone on the Kona Shopping shuttle, but I was in the wheelchair that day and it didn't seem like a good idea.  So we stuck close to the resort that day.

Hawaii: A funny thing happened on the way to Breakfast

Actually, it was after breakfast.  I tripped on the last two stairs at the breakfast buffet restaurant and face planted on the stone floor.  I hurt my shin, ankle and foot.  I was able to get up and walked halfway back to the room, but then...oh my, the pain set in.

So security was sent to our room and we called our insurance company.  They advised us to get an x-ray to make sure I hadn't broken my leg.  So off we go to spend the afternoon at the ER.  Since it was Sunday - that was our only option.  A couple hours later - we get the prognosis...it's only a contusion (whatever that is...it hurts!).  I'm instructed to stay off it for 2 days and sent off with crutches.

I have to say - our taxi driver was great.  He used to be a tour guide and gave us a wonderful "tour" on the way to the ER.

The hotel provided us with a wheelchair and security escorted us to various things throughout the resort.  So we got the "underground" tour as they carted me around for a couple of days.  In addition - my husband was a great sport hauling me around too!

Wednesday - I gave up the wheelchair for the crutches only and today (Thursday), I'm walking on my own power.  A bit stiff, but able to walk.

My friend Kelly got a picture of me with her Sock Monkey.

DawnWheelchair

So now you'll know why I'm using crutches in some of my pictures that will be in future posts.  Whew - glad to get that story over with.

Later I'll share pictures of the tour we took on Tuesday.  Yes - I went with wheelchair and crutches in hand.  I wasn't gonna miss it!

Hawaii: Stampin' Up! Welcome Reception

Sunday Night Stampin'  Up! welcomed us with a wonderful poolside/oceanview reception.  We were greeted with Puka Shell Necklaces and flowers for our hair.  Along with Strawberry Lava drinks - they were delicious!

I have to tell you - that in our schedule it mentioned Appetizers and Beverages would be served.  Oh my - there was food everywhere!  There was a Pasta Bar, Stir Fry Station and a Fruit, Vegetable & Cheese station.  Tons to eat!

We had a poolside seat and here was our view!

Here's me and my husband Gene with our Lava drinks.  It was a wonderful start to our Hawaiian vacation.  Well, actually...I have a story to tell about the "real" start to our trip.  But that will have to wait till the next post.  It's a bit embarrassing - but your gonna see it anyways in the next series of sharing.

We're off to a late dinner with my Founder Circle Friend, Kelly Acheson and her husband.  She wants lobster!

ALOHA - From Hawaii Stampin' Up! Style

All I can say is WOW!  This is my 3rd incentive trip with Stampin' Up! and they know how to travel!!

My husband and I decided to splurg a little and come a couple days early.  Our room is incredible!  It's huge!  We have an ocean view room.  Plus most days there has been whales to watch as well.   What a way to wake up each morning...very cool.

We're heading off to the beach today - so I'll just share a little peak of our room right now.  Later tonight I'll share lots more!

Fifth Avenue Floral meets Movers & Shapers Curly Label Die!

Here's the last project we did at my Technique Tuesday class this month.  I always like to feature the Big Shot on one of the three projects we do each month.  I couldn't wait to get my hands on the Stampin' Up! Movers & Shapers Curly Label Die (#114506 for $39.95).

This die cuts, scores and creates a window all at the same time!  Woohoo - what a time saver!  We also used Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set (#113734 for $24.95) with Baja Breeze, Basic Gray and Going Gray.  Added a little Urban Garden Designer Series Paper (retired).  Finished off with Gray Taffeta Ribbon and a Filigree brads #112577 - LOVE those brads!

A Flower for All Seasons: Hinged Card

Each month, when I receive my Stampin' Success Magazine (a perk for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators), I make it a point to implement a tip, technique or business idea from each magazine.  Why not...SU has already done all of the work for me.

So when I saw the hinged card technique, I knew it would be perfect for my Technique Tuesday class.  I just changed up the color combo a little bit and substituted a stamp set I already had on hand and...voila!

Hinged-Card-Closed
