June Wicked Challenges for Splitcoaststampers

I received a message from my friend Jana Emmert a few months ago and the subject line read, "Do You Feel Wicked?"  I said, "Huh?"  But when I read it, to my delight, she invited me to host Splitcoaststampers June's Wicked Challenges on their demo forum.

Not a demonstrator?  That's OK.  Feel free to play along and share your creations using the challenges below. 

What are Wicked Challenges?  Wonderfully Inspiring Challenges Keep Educating Demos!

Here are my challenges for June 2010:

1.  Say Goodbye to Stampin' Up! In Color Dusty Durango.  Because...I'm not sure why... but I have a lot of it!  Maybe you do too, so use it up!  (Don't have Dusty Durango? Then use Crushed Curry or Bermuda Bay.  All three In Colors will be retiring at the end of this month!).  Throw in a twist and use my color combo:  Dusty Durange, Soft Suede and So Saffron!

 

2.  Get your WHEELS turning!  Stampin' Around wheels that is!  Did you purchase the new Builder Wheels?  Haven't used them yet?  Is there dust build-up on your "old" wheels?  Whether new or old...dust off your wheels and take them out for a spin!

3.  Button, Button, who's got the Button?  I fell in love with the new Bitty Buttons.  How about you?  If you have the new Bitty Buttons, use them on a card - don't hoard them.  If you don't have them, use any other Stampin' Up! button you have to add some fun and whimsy to your project!!

Introducing Bobbi Peterson

Today I'm introducing you to Bobbi Peterson.  Bobbi will be celebrating her one year anniversary as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator next month.  She has been so much fun to get to know.  And let me tell you...I got to know her fast!  No sooner did she sign up, she also registered for convention.  So she was my convention buddy last year!

Bobbi had been stamping for many years and it was a natural step for her to take to sign up to be a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  She found me on the internet.  I guess my story touched her.  We hit it off right away!

Speaking of hitting...

She totally hit the ground running and has had a great first year.  She even had a stamp camp before her Stampin' Up! starter kit arrived.  She has a loyal group of customers/friends who continue to attend her awesome stamp camps.  She's kind, caring, genuine and fun to be with!! 

Living a couple hours away from me, she only attends my quarterly meetings.  We've grown very fond of her and miss her during the other months (though we love her swap cards she sends)!

DOstamperSTARS Tropical Party!

Last month I had my DOstamperSTARS quarterly Camp-a-Rama!  I generally meet monthly with my DOstamperSTARS group.  But quarterly, we have a larger event, more projects, food, fun, games and MORE!

This quarter I themed it up with Stampin' Up!'s Tropical Party theme (from the 2010 Summer Mini Catalog).  Plus we tried out a new venue and it was awesome. 

Here's some of the fun at our Tropical Party!

First up is Shelley!  She was a huge part of the success of this event.  Not only did she provide us with an awesome place to meet, but she prepared dinner for us!!!  I told her the theme for our get-together and let her have at it.  I trusted her completely!

 
And she came through with flying colors!  Look at what she came up with: Hawaiin Chicken Salad (with her homemade dressing), Cheese-filled Breadstick, Fruit-topped Cheesecake and a refreshing tropical punch.  Can you say "Yummy"?  It blew everyone away.  We all felt so special.  THANK YOU SO MUCH SHELLEY!

Then on to some games.  We play a quick game to break up into teams.  Then on to a "Minute to Win it" game.  Do you watch that show?  My husband and I stumbled upon it while channel surfing one day and it instantly grabbed our attention. 

Each team had to get M & M's into their cup with only a straw.  Man - they were fast!!

Here's the winning team (Stephanie, Shelley & Jan) !!!  Each receiving a hostess stamp set!

Then, on to some stamping!!

 

Here's Gayle, Jenny & Jessica working on a Bitty Box project (which I don't have a picture of).  But here's the matching candle holder...

FLOWER FOLDS TEA LIGHT HOLDERS

These AWESOME candle holders are made with "flashing material" using the Big Shot and Flower Folds Die (#115970).  You can pick up flashing at any home improvement store.

Talk about a quick project - cut the flashing with the Flower Folds Die.  The die has four flower sizes.  I used the two middle-sized flowers.  Adhere them together with Mini Glue Dots.  Then attach the tea light with a Pop-up Glue Dot (I like to flatten and stretch the pop up glue dot out to get more coverage) and voila...you're done.  I bet you can make one in under a minute!!!

Linda Hansen comes to Minneapolis!

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Linda Hansen. 

For those of you that are not Stampin' Up! demonstrators, Linda used to worked in the training department for Stampin' Up!.  We would see Linda often as a presenter at Stampin' Up! events.  Now she does (among other things) speaking engagements. 

This Minneapolis event is planned bi-annually by Terri Gaines (on the far right).  I'm blessed to be able to attend these events as well as have met some awesome fellow demonstrators from MN/WI.  They are a wonderful group of women who share their talents with each other.  Thank you to all of you!!!

Back to Linda...She is the most animated, vibrant person and a delight to watch.  We laughed, we cried, we sighed and more!  Thank you Linda for sharing you with us!! 

See what I mean!  So energetic!  Woohoo - Go Linda!!
