DOstamperSTARS Tropical Party!

Last month I had my DOstamperSTARS quarterly Camp-a-Rama!  I generally meet monthly with my DOstamperSTARS group.  But quarterly, we have a larger event, more projects, food, fun, games and MORE!

This quarter I themed it up with Stampin' Up!'s Tropical Party theme (from the 2010 Summer Mini Catalog).  Plus we tried out a new venue and it was awesome. 

Here's some of the fun at our Tropical Party!

First up is Shelley!  She was a huge part of the success of this event.  Not only did she provide us with an awesome place to meet, but she prepared dinner for us!!!  I told her the theme for our get-together and let her have at it.  I trusted her completely!

 
And she came through with flying colors!  Look at what she came up with: Hawaiin Chicken Salad (with her homemade dressing), Cheese-filled Breadstick, Fruit-topped Cheesecake and a refreshing tropical punch.  Can you say "Yummy"?  It blew everyone away.  We all felt so special.  THANK YOU SO MUCH SHELLEY!

Then on to some games.  We play a quick game to break up into teams.  Then on to a "Minute to Win it" game.  Do you watch that show?  My husband and I stumbled upon it while channel surfing one day and it instantly grabbed our attention. 

Each team had to get M & M's into their cup with only a straw.  Man - they were fast!!

FLOWER FOLDS TEA LIGHT HOLDERS

These AWESOME candle holders are made with "flashing material" using the Big Shot and Flower Folds Die (#115970).  You can pick up flashing at any home improvement store.

Talk about a quick project - cut the flashing with the Flower Folds Die.  The die has four flower sizes.  I used the two middle-sized flowers.  Adhere them together with Mini Glue Dots.  Then attach the tea light with a Pop-up Glue Dot (I like to flatten and stretch the pop up glue dot out to get more coverage) and voila...you're done.  I bet you can make one in under a minute!!!
