September 2010 Control Freaks Tour: Anything Fall

Welcome to the September 2010 Tour de Freaks Blog Hop! We are so excited to have you join us today,  This month, I'm the 6th stop on the tour featuring Fall Seasonal projects made with products from Stampin' Up!.   Our tour is nice and short and features some of your favorite Control Freaks Stampers. You may have just come from my good friend Wendy Weixler - welcome!

My first project is a card I taught at my Technique Tuesday class this month that features the Faux Tearing technique. 

1.  Tear a piece of paper and use it ask a mask on part of your cardstock.
2.  Sponge some ink on the unmasked area
3.  Add some "collage style" stamping with the Fall Foliage stamp set (from the Holiday Mini Catalog).
4.  Remove the mask to review the magic!

This is a great technique to use to achieve the look of pattern paper without the bulk or cost.  Didn't turn out beautifully!

My next project is a cute little gift project using Stampin' Up!'s new Mini Lunch Sacks

and some 3x3 gift enclosure cards.

 

I folded over the top of the lunch sack and sponged some cajun craze ink on it.  The greeting is from the Day of Gratitude stamp set (from the Holiday Mini Catalog) as well as the 3x3 gift cards.

St. George Regional & Join My Team, Receive a FREE stamp!

Friday started bright and early as we headed off to the St. George Stampin' Up! Regional event for Founder's Circle Achievers!!

We enjoyed several awesome demonstrations that I can't wait to share with my DOstamperSTARS team and my club members!!   My good friend Kelly Acheson was a Workshop Wow presentation and wowed us with her demonstration of Soot Stamping!  Way to go, Kelly!!

2010 Stampin' Up! Founder's Circle: Simply Adorned Pillow Gift

Oh my - check out this Simply Beautiful, Stampin' Up! Simple Adorned pillow gift.  Not only is the packaging Simply Adorable, but I LOVE the necklace.  Right now, my friend Kelly is reading this and saying,"Really?  You don't even like jewelry, Dawn!"  If you know me well, you know that I don't wear jewelry.  But I can't resist this.  I even put my Founder's Circle Butterfly Charm (from last year) on it right away!

2010 Stampin' Up! Founder's Circle: More Kanab, The Apartment

One of the features of the Stampin' Up! Kanab Manufacturing facility is a space for Stampin' Up! employees from the main office to stay when them come for training.  The minute you walk thru the door of the apartment, you feel at home.  Shelli Gardner's (CEO and Co-founder of Stampin' Up!) personal touches are everywhere.

2010 Stampin' Up! Founder's Circle Day #2: Kanab Manufacturing

A highlight of a Founder's Circle trip is a tour of Stampin' Up!'s Kanab Manufacturing facility.  It's a 2-hour bus ride filled with games, bingo (and prizes) and candy!

We could feel the love from the Kanab staff the minute we got off the bus.  What a special group of people, who made us feel SO special - thank you!!!

Sketch Challenge Card: French Foliage

My DOstamperSTARS group is doing a sketch challenge this week.  Our sketches are created by one of my downline members, Jan Carlson.  She does a great job with them and I so appreciate that Jan does them for us...thanks Jan!

Here's today's sketch:

Here's my card.  I turned it on it's side.  With just a little time left before I headed off to my Stampin' Up! Founder's Circle trip, I used what I already had out.  The French Foliage and Day of Gratitude stamp sets.  Same goes for the color combo of Crajun Craze, More Mustard and Early Espresso - everything was out...so I may as well use it.
