Pam Morgan at Stamp Share for MN Leaders!

Each fall and spring Terri Gaines organizes a Stamp Share for MN Leaders event.  Any Stampin' Up! demonstrator who is a Sr Supervisor or above may attend this event.  Lucky for us...Pam Morgan from the Stampin' Up! home office was in MN that weekend (Oct 3rd), so she stopped on by.  And what a delight!!

First I have to say a few words about Pam.  I've met a Pam a few times, but was fortunate enough to spend some time with her at Founder's Circle in September.  In fact...she was on my Wii Bowling team (see picture below).  So when I walked into the Stamp and Share meeting on October 3rd, Pam greeted me with the warmest hug.  Like we've been friends for years!  It really touched me.  Just goes to show what kind of person she is.

Stampin' Up!'s From the Crypt & Soot Stamping w/a Twist Video

Did you know...when someone wants to borrow something from you (that you didn't even know you owned), that all of a sudden, you NEED to use it yourself?  Well, that was the case with the Stampin' Up! stamp set, From the Crypt

A friend of mine wanted to stamp some Halloween invites.  So I dug out the three Halloween stamp sets I own.  Lo and behold...From the Crypt was calling out to me!  Stamp with me...stamp with me! (Does that ever happen to you?)

Here are the results that feature the Soot Stamping Technique...

Skull-Soot

I taught Soot Stamping at my Technique Tuesday Class this month and it was a hit.  However, the twist came from a mistake.  So be sure to watch the video for "the twist" at the end.

Here are some of the gals getting their "soot" on.  Hmmm...that sounds kinda funny!

October 2010 Control Freaks Tour: Celebrating the Holidays with Stampin' Up!

Blog Tour Pic

Welcome to the October 2010 Tour de Freaks Blog Hop! We are so excited to have you join us today.  This month, I'm the 8th stop on the tour featuring projects for the upcoming Holidays made with products from Stampin' Up!.   Our tour is nice and short and features some of your favorite Control Freaks Stampers. You may have just come from Debbie Currier - welcome!

I'm excited to show you today's project.  My daughter Angie sews (she didn't get that from me).  So, I asked her if she could make something with Stampin' Up!'s new Designer Fabric.  Look what she made...a Wine Bottle Holder!   A great hostess gift for the holidays.  Quick and easy according to Angie!

The holder was made with the Deck the Halls Designer Fabric and Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding.  The bottom was cut with the Scallop Circle Die, then a "tube" of fabric was attached to it.  Didn't she do a great job?!

I added a Crumb Cake tag cut with the Two Tags Die (can't get enough of that die - it's a must have).  I stamped and colored (with inks and blender pen) an image from the Holiday Mini stamp set, Bells and Boughs.  The Merry Christmas was stamped with Stazon Jet Black ink on vellum and wrapped around the tag.  It's attached to the holder with a pin and button from Vintage Trinkets.

My next project is a card made with Bells and Boughs, and the beautiful Deck the Halls Designer Series Paper.

Ok, so I'm not much of a watercolor kind of gal.  But I've been practicing and I think this came out pretty good (for me).  I used a blender pen and ink (Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Certainly Celery, Always Artichoke and Early Espresso), and watercolor paper.  The ribbon/bow is Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding.  Cardstock is Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake.

Well, that's it for me.  I hope you enjoyed this stop on the Controlfreaks Tour.  Now it's on to the next stop.  Give a big welcome new freak, Renee Van Stralen!

New Video: BAM Stamping with French Foliage

"Autumn Spice" up your card making with BAM stamping!  Create this beautiful, yet EASY stamping technique by taking a nod from Emeril.

DOS003-Gratitude

When I was designing this French Foliage card I needed to keep in mind that I was going to be making 40 of them for an upcoming swap.  I wanted the collage look, without having to stamp each of the images separately (which was just too many steps for 40 cards).  To solve that...I mounted all of my images onto Stampin' Up!'s clear block (E).

Collage-Block

Dawns BAM Stamping Technique
1.  Ink up stamp with Cajun Craze ink
2.  "Hit" (BAM) the inked up stamp with Early Espresso ink.

Tip: only "BAM" it once.  If you BAM it twice, you get BAM, BAM.  And you want Emeril, not the Flintstones!

3.  Stamp onto Very Vanilla cardstock
4.  Optional - sponge edges with Early Espresso
5.  Optional - sponge Cajun Craze ink over stamped images, leaving some "white" space
6.  Optional - sponge More Mustard into the remaining "white" spaces

By the way - this was one of the FREE make & take cards we've been doing at my workshops and clubs this past month.  Just image all of the BAMming going on!  It's been a huge hit and tons of fun to see everyone experience their own BAM!

Watch the video below for a quick tip demonstration of BAM Stamping or CLICK HERE to view on YouTube

GuestSTAR Stamper: Jan Carlson w/Tags Till Christmas

Jan&Shelly
Today's GuestSTAR stamper is Jan Carlson.

I met Jan at an in-home workshop where she and 5 of her friends got SO excited about stamping, they immediately joined one of my clubs.  One year later...she became a demonstrator herself and had an instant club herself!

Jan's been a great addition to my team and is a huge help to me.  She demonstrates at almost every DOstamperSTARS meeting.  In fact, last month she did a WOW demo with Stampin' Up!'s Waffle Paper.  Let me tell you...her ideas just kept coming and coming!

When you visit Jan's blog, you'll be greeted with her colorful personality and great projects too!

She's sharing projects made with the Holiday Mini stamp set Tags Till Christmas.

Elf-Shoes

Take a look at this stinkin' cute elf shoes!  Isn't this super cute!?
Doesn't surprise me that Jan did a little punch art...it's one of her favorites!

She has more projects to share.  So head on over there to Stamping With Jan to see what else she made with the Tags Till Christmas stamp set. And be sure to say, Dawn sent you!

Well, that's it for my GuestSTAR Stampers.  I hope you enjoyed meeting some of the gals in my group.  Like I said on Monday, they all worked hard to complete a DOstamperSTARS challenge and I'm very proud of them!!

Enjoy~Dawn O
