Tool Stamping w/Upsy Daisy and Dot Dot Dot: You Guessed It
March 05, 2011
Some of you were able to guess what I did on this card I posted yesterday. It's actually a stamping technique called "Tool Stamping". I learned it several years ago at a stamping expo I attended. I used Stampin' Up!'s Upsy Daisy and Dot, Dot Dot (a SAB option) stamps to create it.
Here's a look...
Dawn's Stamping Tips: Tool Stamping
1. Ink up a solid image stamp (I used Upsy Daisy)
2. Using an uninked stamp that has dots, lines or patterns (referred to as the "Tool Stamp")...drag it around onto the solid image stamp. You can move it in straight lines, waving lines, etc. Essentially you are moving the ink around in a pattern. (I used Dot, Dot, Dot)
3. Stamp the solid image stamp onto cardstock
4. Enjoy!
Optional - try inking your "Tool Stamp" before dragging it across your solid image stamp
As for my actual card (on the right), I felt the Pacific Point flowers were just too bright for me. So I stamped and embossed the greeting on vellum and adhered it over the flowers.
It was fun to read your guesses. Thanks for playing along!!
Enjoy-Dawn O
