Sharing My DOstamperSTARS!

One of the benefits I offer to my DOstamperSTARS downline is the opportunity for additional training.  Besides weekly business/creative tips, I offer two optional training programs.  Demonstrators in my group have the opportunity to take my Reach for the Stars training.  Which is designed for demonstrators who want to take their Stampin' Up! business to the next level.  The other training they can take is my DObloggers Training.  This program introduces them to the basics of blogging.

As we wind down my 3rd round of blogging training, I would like to showcase some of their blogs to you.  So today I'm sharing the projects they made for our last DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge.  They've been working hard on their blogs, so be sure to click on their links below for more information about their cards and be sure to tell them Dawn sent ya!

10-Min Tue Video: Amazing Fold Card (aka Squash Fold) w/Stampin' Up! Love & Care

Got 10 minutes?  Then you have time to make this Amazing Fold Card!  For this week's 10-Minute Tuesday Video, I decided to demonstrate how to make a card I shared a couple of weeks ago.  It was one of the make & take projects from the 2011 Stampin' Up! Alaskan cruise - check it out here.  And boy oh boy, I got tons of requests for the instructions.

As I can't share soon-to-be-released Stampin' Up! products on video yet (not until July 1st), I'm using the awesome new hostess level two stamp set called Love and Care (from the 2011 Summer Mini Catalog).

Features of today's card:

1. Amazing Fold Technique
2. Love and Care Hostess Level Two
3. Huffing Technique
4. Sponging Tips
5. Finished Card Size = 4-1/4"x 4-1/4"

Grandsons, Summertime and Stampin' Up! Punch Art: Sandcastles

It's summertime...yeah!  For my grandsons, summertime means swimming and playing in the sand.  Which means...SANDCASTLES!

Look at these cute pictures of my grandsons Sam (2) and Max (4), that were taken on Memorial Day.  They are growing like weeds!

May2011-Sammy

May2011-Max

Aren't they cuuute?!

The picture of Max with his sandcastle got me thinking about a Sandcastle Punch Art card I made last year summer that I never got a chance to share.  When I found my photos, I discovered it uses the SPIRAL PUNCH (#119872) which is retiring!  Oh no...not another punch that is leaving us!

Sand-Castle

Sand-Castle-Recipe

1.PushPin-Note-Reminder-35  Dawn's Punching Tip

To get the "sun" shape from the Scallop Circle Punch...
it's the same "double punch" technique that is used for getting a 10-petal flower from a 5-petal flower punch.

See here for instructions:
10-Petal Flower Punch aka: Double Punching

Sand Castle-RecipeCU

I'm pretty sure I cased this card, but since it was a year ago, I can't remember who - to give them credit.  If you recognize this card as yours, let me know and I'll add your name.

I  hope your day is filled with sun, stamping and sandcastles!

DOstamperSTARS Challenge: An American in Paris & Spinning Star

I love this week's DOstampSTARS Challenge, as it's a Musical Mania one!  And I love musicals.  Get a bowl of popcorn and your favorite soda.  Then curl up on the couch with a warm and fuzzy blanket.  There is no better way to spend a Sunday afternoon.  Especially if its raining.  Like it's been doing here in MN the past few days.  But I digress...

Today's challenge is An American in Paris.  Any movie Gene Kelly is in and I know I'm gonna love it!  Watch Gene Kelly on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LvglHa_P9BA.  It should put you in the mood for today's challenge.  Or at the very least, it should put a smile on your face :)

I love the way this turned out.  But I'm afraid to say...I used punches that are retired.  But if you have any small and large star punches, this technqiue will work.  last year.  I just had to share anyways.

Now on to the cool part...the STAR SPINS!  Yes, it really does!
Wanna know how to make one of your own?  Of course you do!  Check out my...
