Easy Shadow Box Card and Video

So, have you decided on your favorite new Stampin' Up! stamp set yet?  For me, it's hard to decide this year, as I really like so many of the new ones.  So, I'm just going to start with what I "need" first.  As Stampin' Up! didn't have any graduation stamp sets last year, I was excited to see "Pure Gumption" and it was first on my "need" list!

If you like fun-fold cards, then you're gonna like today's card.  I recently received a Shadow Box swap card from fellow demonstrator Brenda Hukriede, (oops, should be Kari Eklund) that I totally fell in love with...thanks Kari!  It reminded that I hadn't done a Shadow Box card in a long time.  They are so much fun to make and receive.  Plus, surprisingly easy to do!

Dawn's Product Share Update

All I can say is WOW!  I'm thrilled that so many of you are excited about my Product Share offering.  I'd say the most popular by far is the "I Want it All" and then the DSP swatchbooks.  Here's where I'm at...

All product share reservations that I've received as of noon today have been billed.  Most have been paid.  I'm waiting on just a few more.  I anticipate receiving product early next week.  Cutting, sorting, wrapping, assembling, packaging, mailing should be done by no later than Friday, June 15th (maybe earlier).  As you can see, it is a process.

10 Min Tuesday: Peacock, Fancy Fan Double Texture Embossing Video

What do you get when you cross Stampin' Up! Designer Frames Texture Folder with any other Texture Folder?  You get...Double Texture Embossing!  It sounded like I was going to tell a joke at first, didn't it? He he!

Well - it's no joke.  This Double Texture Embossing Technique is awesome and easy!  I just know you're gonna love it.

First, here's today's card, which uses a couple new products including, Fancy Fan Folder and World Treasures stamp set...a perfect match!

This picture doesn't do the card justice.  In real life - it's gorgeous!  Plus, Summer Starfruit is starting to grow on me.  I really like it paired with Midnight Muse!

Double Texture Embossing Technique Tips

1.  Use Fancy Fan Texture Embossing folder to add texture to Whisper White cardstock.  Leave area at the bottom unembossed - for stamping.

2.  Use rectangle from Designer Frames Embossing Folders to add second texture over first texture.

Here are the details for Dawn's "Just Cards" Buffet TO GO Class:

1. You'll receive a variety of the cards shown. You'll receive at least 5 or more different cards, of which some you'll receive two of, for a total of 8 card kits. (Cards may not be hand selected, as they are packaged randomly.) However, monthly subscribers will be guaranteed a full selection of card offerings.
2. Card kits include envelopes and the pre-cut card pieces and accessories for you to complete your card. Adhesive is not included.
3. Details instructions are NOT provided. Once the class is mailed to you, you will receive an email notice that will include the card kit PDF. The PDF will include a photo of each card and supply list. If you need detailed instructions, this class may not meet your needs.
4. Die cutting and shape punching will be completed for you (without stamped images). However, most border punching is NOT provided.
5. Texture embossing will be completed for you as well, except when stamping first is necessary.
6. Stamped images are NOT included in the card kits. This is in accordance with Stampin' Up! copyright policy. If you do not have a specific stamp set used for a card, you can substitute like size images.

New Stampin' Up!: World Treasures Samples

Well, I was going to have a new video for you today.  But it needed a section re-taped.  However, lawn maintenance got in the way.  What can I say, it must be the day for everyone to get out their mowers, weed wackers and chainsaws.  Maybe I'll try again on Monday. 

So instead, I'll share one of my pillow gifts from the Stampin' Up! DisneyWorld incentive trip.  A delightful stamp set called World Treasures.  It's one of many new products in the 2012-2013 Annual Catalog.  I fell in love with it right away.  I'm always on the lookout for peacocks, as my best friend collects thems.

I also wanted to try out the new Stampin' Up! firm foam Stampin' Pads.  So I reached for Midnight Muse for this card.  Take a look...

Let me tell you...I LOVE the new Stampin' Pads.  The firm foam pad really made a difference in my stamping experience.  As the peacock is a larger stamp, I would have typically spent a good amount of time to twist, tap, tap, tap and twist and tap some more to get good ink coverage.  Not with the new firm foam.  Just a "Goldilock's touch" will do.  You know...not too hard, not too soft, somewhere in the middle.  Plus just a couple taps is all you need.  Then ooh - the look on cardstock is just wonderful.  In addition it is much more opaque - love it!

All five colors of the reformulated inks have been fully tested and approved. While using the new ink formula in the old Stampin' Pads is fine, we do not recommend using the old ink formula in the new firm foam pads.

Additional features you're gonna love:

• The firm foam is nice and flat and will not become wavy.
• The firm foam material does not imprint on the stamp images like the felt pad sometimes did. However, because the firm foam material is a foam base material, the stamp image can momentarily leave an imprint on the pad, which can transfer to a second stamped image. By inking your stamp on different areas of the pad or waiting momentarily for the ink to rise back to the top, you can easily avoid this situation.
• The firm foam material is soft and has a nice bounce to it. It’s not hard like the felt is.
• The ink lay-down (how the ink is absorbed into the card stock) is even, not blotchy, and dries quickly. It has an increased opacity and stamps solid images beautifully.
