Happy Thanksgiving

I've come to discover that our grandson Max (6), is quite the little crafter.  I always knew he enjoyed crafting with me, but I guess I didn't realize how much he really loves it!  He loves all my Stampin' Up! stuff and constantly reminds me of it.  Touches my heart!  

When he was over last month, I was cleaning off my crafting space (aka dining room table) and there were a few leftover die-cut leaves laying there.  Max asked if he could have them.  Of course he could!  In fact - I had been thinking we could make a Turkey with them.  He was all over that.  But we had to get a few things done before we could "play".  So...he wrote me a post-it note reminder and put it on my computer (as he knows I'd see it there - ha, ha!).  Then, he got it in his head to create a "to do" list for all the things he wanted to do over the weekend.  Take a look...

As you can see, the list got pretty long and we didn't get a chance to do everything.  But the Turkey Curd (card) did get done.  Take a look...

Challenge Thursday: Holiday Inspiration, JOY

Time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge - this week's Home Sweet Home inspiration comes from this fun holiday photo.

I took inspiration from the red & white package, which got me thinking of candy canes, which lead to Glimmer Paper candy cane letters.  Yes, more glimmer!  Are you getting tired of my glimmer cards?  

The "candy cane" letters are made with 1/4" strips of Silver & Red Glimmer Paper and cut with the Typeset Alphabet Dies.  Love it!! 

Only decision I couldn't make was...I was torn between the red card or white card.  What do you think? 

 

Dawn's Tips:

• Use 2-1/2" square of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets
• Diagonally line up 1/4" strips of Red & Silver Glimmer Paper
• Cut (glimmer side down) with Typeset Alphabet Dies

November 2013: Control Freaks Christmas Tour

Welcome to the Control Freaks November2013 Tour (officially starts Nov 20th, but should be live by 8:00pm central time Nov 19th - so be sure to stop back later to take the full tour). We are thrilled to have you join us today. Our tour features some of your favorite Control Freaks Stampers sharing projects made with Stampin' Up! products. In fact, you may have just come from Connie Tumm's blog.

Our theme for this month is: Christmas  

My cards feature Stampin' Up!'s Glimmer Paper, which I find myself reaching for more and more!  Also - one card is perfect for mass-producing and the other is just right for that special person in your life. 

Christmas Blessings Card

 

This is essentially a one-panel card - great for mass-producing your holiday cards!  Here's the details:

• Whisper White (8-1/2" x 5-1/2" case, 5-1/4" x 4" panel)
• Use star image from the Circle Card Thinlits Die (133480) to cut window.  
• 1-1/4" square piece of Red Glimmer Paper (121790) is adhered to the card base (positioned to peek through the window), 
• I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to perfectly place the greeting image from More Merry Messages (126400w or 126402c)
• Adhere ends of Silver 1/8" Ribbon (132137) to back side of panel.
• Add bow with glue dots
• Entire panel is adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.

NOEL Christmas Card

 

This stunning NOEL card came together rather quickly as well. I love it when the card you envision in your mind, actually translates to the finished card perfectly (though - it doesn't always work like that).  Here's the details:

• Die cut letters Champagne Glimmer Paper (1-3/4" squares) using the Typeset Alphabet Dies
• Punch Red Glimmer Paper berries from Cupcake Builder Punch
• Punch Old Olive leaf from Bird Builder Punch
• Berries, leaf and bow were adhered with glue dots

 Stand back and ooh & aah!
