Common questions I receive about joining Stampin' Up! and the STARS!

What are the minimum sales requirements? 
You only need to submit $300 in sales per quarter. That is less than an average Stampin’ Up! workshop! Also, you can submit your sales in any increment you wish and still receive your 20 percent discount and commission. 

What if I want to do this as a hobby and not necessarily a business? 
Stampin’ Up! supports all demonstrators, no matter their goals or the level at which they choose to run their business. If you choose not to hold workshops, you can simply place your own orders and/or collect orders from family and friends to equal the $300 quarterly sales minimum. NOTE: Many of the demonstrators in my community of STARS are just that, a hobby demonstrator. If that describes you - you'll fit right in!

Can I be my own hostess? 
Absolutely yes, you can be your own hostess anytime you want. Invite your family and friends into your home and have a workshop. You will be the hostess, receiving the hostess benefits, as well as the demonstrator benenfits, receiving your instant income and commission. Or just submit orders of your own that total $150 or more! 

Do I have to recruit other demonstrators? 
No, you are not required to recruit. If you were to sign up new recruits, you would be paid override commissions on their sales. This is a perk, not a requirement

What if I decide that I don’t like it once I’ve started? Will I be penalized if I quit? 
You may choose to stop at anytime, and you will not be penalized. You simply stop placing orders.

DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #088: Triple Flower (Pot, Patch & Fair)

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge!  This week it's a Sketch Challenge

This week's sketch challenge just seemed to call for Designer Series Paper!  And the new Flower Pot DSP fit the bill.  With just a small strip at the top (1-1/4" x 4") and a large piece for the bottom (4" x 4") - it's a good use for this playful new pattern paper.

I selected a new stamp set too, Flower Patch (photopolymer stamp set) and matching Flower Fair Framelits, bundle and save 15%.  The flower was stamped with Night of Navy, Garden Green and Crushed Curry ink.  Greeting was stamped in Night of Navy onto a 4" x 3/4" strip of Crushed Curry cardstock.  Card base is 4-1/4" x 11" Night of Navy.

Hello Darling: Stamping with the Boys

We were on our annual Northern Minnesota vacation this weekend.  As usual, I bring a limited number of stamping supplies along, as I never know if I'll get the urge or time to make a few cards.  Well, the boys wanted to make a card, so we started stamping with a couple of brand new Stampin' Up! stamp sets...Hello Darling and Life's an Adventure (Hostess).  Check out the results...

Well-loved stamps!  This used to bother me when I first started stamping 12 years ago.  But now it's a sign of happy times.  A "dirty" stamp is a happy stamp!

Some of these supplies were from a couple of leftover card kits.  I didn't even bring a paper trimmer.  Can't remember the last time I hand cut card layers - like I did for the greeting layer on this card (not bad, huh?).  Guess you really don't need much to make a card after all.  This was a great challenge that turned out to be tons of fun.  Of course, anytime I stamp with the boys it's a special time!

Here are the details for Dawn's "Just Cards" Buffet TO GO Class:

  1. You'll receive a variety of the card kits shown. You'll receive at least 5 or more different card kits, of which some you'll receive two of, for a total of 8 card kits. (Cards may not be hand selected, as they are packaged randomly.)  However, monthly subscribers will be guaranteed a full selection of card offerings.
  2. Card kits include envelopes and the pre-cut card pieces and accessories for you to complete your card.  Adhesive is not included.
  3. Details instructions are NOT provided.  Once the class is mailed to you, you will receive an email notice that will include the card kit PDF.  The PDF will include a photo and supply list for each card.  Be sure to save the PDF to your computer to assist you in completing your card.  If you need detailed instructions, this class may not meet your needs.
  4. Die cutting and shape punching will be completed for you (without stamped images).  However, most border punching is NOT provided.
  5. Texture embossing will be completed for you as well, except when stamping first is necessary. 
  6. Stamped images are NOT included in the card kits.  This is in accordance with Stampin' Up! copyright/angel policy.   If you do not have a specific stamp set used for a card, you may purchase them in my online store or you can substitute like-size or styled images.
