DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #092: Sea Street Birthday

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge!  This week it's a Home Sweet Home challenge.

I spy an octopus...so I grabbed the adorable Sea Street stamp set.  I just have to say...I did not want to like this set.  But have to admit - it's SO growing on me and now it's on my "have to have it" list!

 

Dawn's Stamping Tips

• The octopus was stamped using a modified Triple Time Stamping Technique - just 2 smaller layers.
• Whisper White (1-1/4" x 1-1/2" and 2" x 2-1/4")
• Tangerine Tango (1-1/2" x 1-3/8" and 2-1/8" x 2-3/8")
• The eyes are Pearl Basic Jewels
• Color with Calypso Coral (130996) Blendabilities Marker (available August 1st, 2am MT)
• I probably should have selected the smallest size pearl, as his eyes look a little big, leaning towards creepy (ha!)

Five Steps to Quick & Cute: Hip Hip Hooray Swap Card

Today's card was one of the swap cards I brought to the Stampin' Up! #inspirecreateshare2014 Convention. Specifically for my downline, DOstamperSTARS.  Their swaps were fabulous and I'll share them throughout the week.

For my card an element from the Celebration Add-On Kit which includes the following:

• Selection of 6x6 Designer Series Paper
• Streamer Material
• Stampin' Mister
• Selection of Tags
• and a "circle" banner (this is what I used for the card below)

Whether graduation, birthday, or celebrating an accomplishment...this QC (quick and cute) card fits the bill.  Not only is it cute, but it's quick to make.   

Five Steps to Quick & Cute!

1. Cut off 5 "circles" from the Celebration Add-On Kit "banner"
2. Adhere circles to the bottom of 4" x 5-1/4" Whisper White Panel with Mini Glue Dots
3. Stamp greeting with Bermuda Bay ink
4. Adhere panel to Whisper White card base (5-1/2 x 8-1/2").
5. Adhere Rhinestone Basic Jewels

DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #091: QC Dotty Angles Sketch

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge!  This week it's a Sketch challenge.

 

I took inspiration from the "dots" for this week's Sketch Pad Challenge and immediately thought of the NEW stamp set, Dotty Angles (133658)

I also seem to be gravitating to Tempting Turquoise these days.  When was the last time you used Tempting Turquoise?  It's really a fun bright color and it makes me smile...how about you?

Pairing it with black keeps the focus on the stamped images and makes the Tempting Turquoise pop even more!  Plus - I got the use the NEW Black Bakers Twine...love, love, love!

Isn't this QC card just darling?

The STAR Treatment: Treat Boxes

I enjoy giving my downline the STAR Treatment.  For this year's #inspirecreateshare2014 convention gift, I made these fun Treat Boxes made with Stampin' Up!'s Wood Mount Stamp Cases, Pictogram Punches stamp set and Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper.  I'm thrilled with the way they turned out and I think they were too.
