Envelope Punch Jar Card

This was one of my Control Freak swaps...
As I was playing with the Envelope Punch Board one day, I was trying to create a card that was shaped like a jar.  Instead, I think it may look more like a "drawstring bag" shape.  You know...like a muslin bag or organza bag.  Whether Jar or Bag, I'm happy with the way it turned out.  Plus it's Quick & Cute!  What do you think?

Case of a Case: Work of Art Sailboat

I received a very cool card swap from fellow demonstrator Helen Osterkamp using the Work of Art stamp set.  It truly was a work of art, as it's a clever use of the images in the stamp set.  Helen was actually inspired by Patti McDermott from Stampin' Connection, (which is a private online site for Stampin' Up! demonstrators to share their creativity).  Thank you Patti & Helen!

Oh...In case you didn't know what "CASE" is, it stands for Copy And Share Everything.

Swaps are "In the Bag"!

I'm coming down the home stretch for my swaps for the upcoming Stampin' Up! Convention.  Just a few more to go (which is good, as I leave tomorrow morning).  One of the things I needed was a cute bag to tote them in.  Paper Pumpkin to the rescue!

One of my favorite Paper Pumpkin kits was the "In the Bag" kit.  And it's now available as a refill kit for subscribers!!  In fact - both the original kit and refill kit are available.  Check out all past kits/refill.  Then contact me with your order.  They can be ordered with other current products as well.  NOTE - they are not available with online orders.

For my "SWAPS" bag - I substituted the punch out circle letters (that come with the kit) for die cut letters from a retired alphabet die. I made several of these for my downline for a previous event.  The die cutting was a good solution, as I needed a lot of S's.  Otherwise - everything else came with the kit (well, except for my swap cards inside).

Well, off to get ready for the #inspirecreateshare2014 convention.  Posting will be sporadic while I'm gone.  But I hope to check in at least once or twice.  I've got a video ready for tomorrow and another post for Thursday.

DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #090: Birdhouse Punch Art

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge!  This week it's a Color My World challenge.

I just have to say, "I am lovin' this card!"

Sometimes what you have in your head actually translates to paper.  This was one of those times - it worked.  What worked?  The birdhouse. The minute I saw the new What's Up Punch in the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog - I immediately envisioned a birdhouse.

How to make Dawn's "What's Up" Birdhouse:

  • Stamp Hardwood image with Crumb Cake ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock
  • Punch 1/4" circle in the previously stamp piece.  Use the new 1/4" Handheld Punch 
  • Then punch the "large arrow" shape (aka birdhouse) from the same shape, positioning the negative 1/4" circle space in the lower part of the birdhouse. Sponge with Crumb Cake ink
  • Punch 2 more "birdhouse" shapes - another from Crumb Cake, and one from Coastal Cabana (cut off triange "roof" and sponge with Crumb Cake ink)
  • Adhere roof onto birdhouse. Then adhere that layer onto last punched Crumb Cake "birdhous" shape with Stampin' Dimensionals
  • Decorate as desired
  • Hmm...do you need a "How'd She DO That" video?  Sometimes things are easier to show than to write out.  Let me know.

Additional tips from Dawn:

  • To get the "thinking of you" greeting positioned correctly on the arrow...I stamped the greeting upside down and then punched with the What's Up punch (discovered that via trial and error)
  • To adhere the sequins: I "rolled" up glue dots to give them a slightly raised look.
