Founder's Circle Holiday Tag Inspiration, Blog Candy Winner

At the Stampin' Up! Founder's Circle 2014 Retreat this month, as usual there were jars of treats everywhere.  What made them even more fun this year were the Holiday Tags that decorated them. Let's Celebrate DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #100: Seasonally Scattered

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge.  In fact, it's our 100th challenge - woohoo!  And this week we're celebrating with a Sketch Challenge and blog candy - woohoo, again!  (Note: for the blog candy give-a-way, be sure to scroll to the bottom for details)

I decided to use the new stamp set, Seasonally Scattered.  It comes with 3 "graphic" greetings - Merry, Thanks and Love.  Very versatile.  For the greeting on the banner, I used Christmas from Ornamental Pine stamp set (just ommitted the word "wishes")

Dawn's Stamping Tip

If you look closely, you can see that the main image is two-toned.  Here's what I did to achieve that look:

• Ink entire "merry" mage with Soft Sky ink
• Before stamping, use a sponge dauber to add Lost Lagoon ink, keeping it just over the word area
• Stamp onto cardstock
• Enjoy!

I'm lovin' this card and think it will be one of my Stamping Club projects at my next months classes.  If you're in the club (local and TO GO) - you'll get to enjoy making this project!

2014 Founder's Circle Retreat: Home for the Holidays

Last week I enjoyed a fabulous Founder's Circle Retreat in St. George, UT.  This is Stampin' Up!'s recognition for their top demonstrators. It's something I work for every year and hope that I've done enough to earn it.  I've been incredibly blessed to earn it for the past 7 years, thanks to my customers, club members and DOstamperSTARS!

This year's theme was "Home for the Holidays". They did an excellent job pampering us, that started with our travel documents and continued along with a decked out "gathering place", aka "Holiday Lodge", that put us in the holiday spirit (along with holiday music playing in the background to complete the scene). 

Our first activity was to find our "team" and build a gingerbread house...what fun!  I was with the snowflakes.  

Then we enjoyed a welcome dinner and beautifully decorated tables (they always to a fabulous job!)

On Thursday, after a day of chatting and stamping, the evening ended with a PJ party, business sharing, swapping and more!

Getting down to business.  What was the most popular stamp set used for Founder's Circle swaps?

On Friday, we spent the day touring the Kanab manufacturing facility.  One of my favorite parts of tour this year was seeing the new photopolymer stamp process...very interesting!

 

Another one of my favorites at Kanab is to get my annual photo with Shelli.

We even got to craft in the warehouse.  Can't beat that!

 That evening ended with dinner with my pals, Barb and Kelly!

The last day, we found ourselves creating decorations for trees that will be auctioned off at a Festival of Trees event later this year.  Here's what we created...

They were a little tedious at first.  But once we got into our rythm, we cranked out 20 of these in no time at all (both front and back were decorated!)

The evening ended with a holiday turkey dinner and a white elephant gift game.  Lots of fun and yummy food too.

Thanks to all the staff who work so hard on this event.  It was a huge success and one of my favorite Founder's Circle events!
