Dockworker Strike Means Delays:

Stampin' Up! is experiencing some significant delays at their west coast ports due to a breakdown in negotiations with union dock workers. These delays have and will impact several items until an agreement is reached.  The Wonderful Wreath Framelits Die (item 135851), the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits Die (item 135853), and the Tree Punch (item 135859) are currently on backorder due to this delay and the list will likely get longer as the strike continues. There is a possibility that this may also result in delayed shipping of the November Paper Pumpkin kit.

DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #104: Holiday Invitation Autumn Accents

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge.  This week we're having a Home Sweet Home Challenge!

 

With today's beautiful inspiration photo, I just had to pull out the Autumn Accents Die.   Also - I've been itchin' to try a "curved banner greeting" and I think it was just the right touch for today's card.  I received a card from fellow demonstrator Brenda Spenger - which had a "curved banner" on it and totally fell in love with it!  Here's a closer look...

Curved Banner Greeting

• Oval Framelits (size 3 & 5 - when counting from smallest to largest)
• Center the small one inside the larger one and cut with Big Shot
• Then cut oval in half - the long way
• Stamp greeting on one half (position photopolymer stamp into curved shape on the clear block)
• Use the other half to create banner ends (I used the Banner Punch to create flagged ends by siding the oval strip into the punch "backwards")
• Assemble greeting banner with Gold Designer Buttons and Glue Dots

OK - as I am writing this, I definitely think I'll have to do a How'd She DO That? video.  Check back soon.

Amazing Birthday Balloon Punch Art (& Fall Harvest Orchard Memories)

We've got several birthday's in October here at the Olchefske house.  This weekend the boys were over and we did a little card making after a day at the Apple Orchard.  They picked the colors (Pumpkin Pie and Tempting Turquoise) and I selected the stamp set...Amazing Birthday.  I wish I had gotten a picture of their cards before they sealed them in the envelopes, as they did an amazing job.  So today, you'll just get to see my card.

A day at the Fall Harvest Orchard

Every fall we take Max and Sam to the local apple orchards.  There are many to choose from in MN.  But one of our favorites was the Fall Harvest Orchard in Delano.  This summer the owner past away and the family has decided to sell, so this will be the last season.

The orchard holds a special place in our hearts, as it was the first one we took Max to six years ago.   I remember him looking at the newborn baby chicks in awe.  We took the same picture of him every year.  Look how much he's grown.  We'll miss going there every fall.
