Today I'm sharing a couple of cards created by DOstamperSTAR Peggy Goetzke. She's one of my "long distance" STARS, meaning she's not from the Twin Cities area. Well over 70% of the STARS are not local to me, they are located all over the US.
So how do we stay connected? Good question. Two ways...
Facebook (our private DOstamperSTARS group is a favorite place to "hangout") - we just had a fun STARS Virtual Gathering last night with games, prizes, creative and business sharing!!
Swap opportunities.
Whether near or far - all STARS can participate in one of the most favorite activities of a Stampin' Up! demonstrator...swapping! Peggy's swap cards caught my attention in our last round of swapping and I'm showcasing them today. Her Best Day Ever card is fun and whimsical and the Adventure Awaits card is perfect for the "sailor" in your life! I think you'll enjoy them too!
I'm Peggy Goetzke from IA. As soon as I saw a catalog I was hooked. Best thing is immediate gratification unlike needlework, etc. It can also be done anytime (no weather problems), no need for special clothes., etc.
I've been a demonstrator for 19 years. I do a few craft shows, classes, and have had a monthly group. My gals have been with me for years and by far, most want cards. They are advanced stampers. Though, I'd like to get into scrapbooking more, as I have 50 years of things to record. I always want to do more, but..I have a young enthusiastic mind trapped in a old body and run out of energy too quickly.
My absolute favorite thing is learning everything new. When the Big Shot came out it was one thing I was sure I did not need. How wrong I was. I also enjoy meeting other demonstrators and sharing ideas, support, questions, etc. I can’t say enough good things about my upline (Dawn), who does an awesome job supporting her downline. I like meeting other STARS and sharing with them on our Facebook community, etc, Meeting fellow STAR Bobbi was a real gift! We’re stamping BFF’s now.
I think she said it perfectly! Are you like Peggy...hooked on the Stampin' Up! Catalog? Then joining now may just be the thing for you. During Sale-a-Bration (ends March 31st), you can select an additional gift of either...
Option #1: Choose a FREE Simply Created Project Kit from the occasions catalog with your Starter Kit (one of 5 choices).
Today's sketch is a good basic sketch, great for both beginners and experienced card makers. I decided to keep it simple and use some pattern paper for the focal point. I hadn't had a chance to work with the new Sale-a-Bration Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum Stack, so today was the day to play.
If you come in closer, you can see that the flowers look white and yellow. That's not because of careful coloring. That's so not in my wheelhouse. I actually tried a few things to get the look I was going for.
That was closer to what I was looking, but still not exactly what I envisioned.
Then I thought, "hmm...what if I do both? Ooh...you may be onto something Dawn."
Here's what I did...color first, then dry embossed. I was giddy with the results.
(Note: the backside doesn't look so great, but the front...oh, so pretty!)
It's hard to capture the final look and feel. But trust me...this card just begs for you to touch it. In fact, I can't stop rubbing my hands over the flowers.
The greeting from Simply Wonderful and Baker's Twine from the In Color Accessory Pact are both Sale-a-Bration choices, which ends in just 10 days.
When you purchase the Starter Kit during Sale-a-Bration, you'll receive a bonus of your choice!

Dates: January 6 through March 31
Customize your Starter Kit your way! For just $99, you get:
Your choice of up to $125 worth of any current Stampin' Up! products

As Rhonda B recently shared,
I was looking for something to do to earn a little extra money after I retire...My wonderful sister, Rose, talked me into going along with her to a "stamp camp". I kept telling her, "I can't do this" and all she would ever say back was "YES YOU CAN".....Once there, I enjoyed myself and really enjoyed making cards. The cards lead into the paper crafts...and what a stress reliver it is! Although I am only in it as a hobbiest, we do craft shows every spring and fall. I have a few coworkers that keep me busy too. So Thanks to my wonderful sister, Rose, that is how I got connected to the DOstamper STARS too!
My community of STARS are located all over the United States. We have occasional local meetings (Twin Cities area), but mostly we gather online. In fact - tomorrow we're having a Virtual Gathering on facebook - woohoo! From sharing creative ideas and tips, swaps, business tips and more...we have a fabulous and supportive community that is looking forward to giving you a warm welcome!

I received my Lovely Amazing You Photopolymer Stamp Set the other day and had to crack it open right away. I'm totally lovin' the font for the greetings plus you can't go wrong with feathers too (another image in this set). I immediately put it into action with these two cards, pairing it with the Occasions stamp set, Petal Potpourri and the new SAB In Color Accessory Pack. Check it out...
This is the first one I made, inspired by a card a saw on Pinterest. I like the basic layout, but I wanted to take it up a notch. Sometimes I need a "practice" card first before I start to get the feel of a stamp set. Do you do that too?
By turning the "side stamped panel" into a tag, I get a completely different look to the card. Now I'm really happy with the card - it makes me smile. I hope it makes you smile tool, as it's one of the cards included in my March Just Cards Buffet TO GO class that will be ready to purchase tomorrow (Thursday, 3/19)...stop back then.
If you look closely, you'll notice a strip of Stacked With Love Designer Series Paper Stack. I'm lovin' this paper that is not just for Valentine's Day. When you flip it over - ALL the designs are black & white. I added Hello Honey ink with a sponge dauber, creating a custom paper for my project.
My sister introduced me to Pinterest 3 years ago. At that same time I moved to a new town/state and was looking for something to fill my time (I am an empty nester now). I saw some cute Christmas cards (SU stamp set) and thought I would like to try that. Needless to say, I was hooked. I was spending so much, I thought I would become a demo to save money. I picked Dawn since I was following her blog and she has a "sweet voice" on her videos and cute grandkids! I don't have any customers, but am keeping my extended family supplied with cards (and OWH)
Are you an "emptynester" like Linda? In fact, I was an empty nester when I joined too. I was looking for something to fill those empty hours, yet be a creative outlet too. I joined for the discount (as most do!) and look where I am today...wow!
We'd love to welcome you to our community of STARS. You can learn more about the STARS and Stampin' Up! here.

Today I'm sharing a couple of cards made by DOstamperSTAR Mackenzie Fuchs. She was a "swap angel" for our last swap (filling in for someone else at the last minute). She rose to the occasion with flying colors. Every time I walk past my display with her cards - I just have to smile. She has such a talent and I'm so glad she was able to be our swap angel. Take a look...
Didn't she do a fabulous job?! Be sure to check out her blog Do All Things (she shares her craft room re-do, it's awesome!)
Meet Mackenzie...
I had been looking for a place to go and make cards because I did not have a lot of supplies so I googled "card making classes mn" and Stampin' Up! popped up. After finding the demonstrator in my area I saw that she had an upcoming card class and I emailed her asking if I could join. After attending the class and wanting EVERYTHING in the catalog, I ended up placing a few orders over the course of a few days. I was hooked!
So I started to think about the demonstrator opportunity in the back of the catalog--was it for me? I'm not the most outgoing person and my network isn't very large so I wasn't sure I would be able to sell to other women! I did know one thing though, I wanted everything in that beautiful catalog! I started researching what it meant to be a demonstrator and found some great blogs about how you don't have sell to others to be a demonstrator, you can join to enjoy the demonstrator discount (be a "happy shopper"). My heart fluttered! I could have my cake and eat it, too?! Yay! I contacted Heidi, my demonstrator, and asked her what she thought. Before we could even meet to talk about it, I just signed up! I couldn't wait to get my order(s)!
It has been a year now and I am in love with all the ways Stampin' Up! takes care of their demonstrators
preorders for all the new catalogs
events where I can meet up with other women that love what I love
all the opportunities to stay inspired
This truly is a unique opportunity and its so easy to find inspiration! I always like to tell people that I love Stampin' Up! because everything coordinates. I used to go to the local craft stores and see many, many cute things I'd like to use but then I realized how they are all in different collections and none of those collections coordinate. That just doesn't work for me; I need to know that all my supplies are going to work well and play nice together.
If you're thinking of joining Stampin' Up!--DO IT! You won't regret it and you will fall even more in love with stamping (and save some money in the process).
I think she said it perfectly! Are you like Mackenzie and want to be a "Happy Shopper"? Then joining now may be the right time for you. During Sale-a-Bration (ends March 31st), you can select an additional gift of either...
Option #1: Choose a FREE Simply Created Project Kit from the occasions catalog with your Starter Kit (one of 5 choices).
Wow - you all really liked the Hexagon Punch Sale-a-Bration card I shared here. I did too. I couldn't stop playing with it. So I pulled out another favorite DSP of mine, the Flower Pot Designer Series Paper (just in time for spring)!
This is one of the cards that will be included in my Just Cards Buffet TO GO class (to be available next week). If you want to be one of the first people to get my March class - be sure you're on my Monthly Subscriber list, so you can receive advance notice! Contact me for more information.
The Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack is a perfect accent for this card. With a star, flower & heart shapes, you can make a card for almost any occasion.
I had tons of fun playing around with different color combinations and the Petite Pairs stamp set greetings. Can't decide which is my favorite. For tips on making this card, be sure to watch the How'd She DO That? video below (HSDT).

So - what do you think? Cool, huh? A perfect card for using up your Designer Series Paper scraps!
