Double Fold Gate Card: Circle of Spring (Holiday Catalog Shares-update)

I know it's practically Fall, but the Circle Of Spring stamp set can be used all year long.  I especially am enjoying that it includes lots of useful greetings.  Secondarily, it's another great use for the Wonderful Wreath Framelits Dies.

For the coloring of the wreath...

• Stamp wreath image with Mossy Meadow ink
• Use Blender Pen to move color around filling in the "white space"
• Use Blushing Bride Stampin' Write Marker to color flowers
• Use Mossy Meadow ink to color flower center

Holiday Catalog Product Shares - update

I received the Holiday Catalog Product Share merchandise last week and enlisted some helpers to cut, sort, staple, repack and mail.

Max and Sam were delighted to pitch in.  In fact, they were practically begging to help with the sorting.  Though the look on their faces may not show it, as they were concentrating very hard.  (Note:  I did a quality control check on their work and they were excellent little worker bees, only a couple of minor fixes were needed).  Great job boys!

The shares went in the mail today.  I love the USPS pick up service!  My postal carrier is always full of smiles when she backs her truck into my driveway.  That's right - no trips to the post office for me.  In fact, she thanks me profusely.  Now that's great service!

DOstamperSTARS Challenge #148: Season of Cheer, Six Sayings

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge.  This week we're having a Sketch challenge. 

For this week's sketch I reached for a new set that just arrived, Six Sayings stamp set.  It's a Stampin' Rewards choice from the Holiday Catalog (for your order of $150 or more), that has sayings for Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving, New Year, Happy Holidays and Valentines day.

The snowflake pattern paper comes from the new Holiday Catalog, called Season Of Cheer Designer Series Paper (3/4" strips).  The snowflake texture is from the new Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I like the subtle look of snow it gives to the card.

The wooden Snowflake Elements is tied off Silver Cording Trim and is perfect accent for the greeting...don't you think?   I'm lovin' this sketch.  I can see myself using it over and over again!

HSDT Fun Fold #6: Happy Haunting Double Fold Gate Card, Guest Author on Splitcoaststampers

I'm excited to announce, I'm the Guest Tutorial Author on Splitcoaststampers today!   I'm sharing a Double Fold Gate Card tutorial for Splitcoaststampers. Woohoo!

  

This type of Fun Fold card works best with double sided paper, perfect for Stampin' Up!'s Designer Series Paper.  I chose a fun new Halloween paper from the 2015 Holiday Catalog, called Happy Haunting

Double Fold Gate Card Measurements

• 12" x 5-1/2" piece of Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper
• Score at 2", 4", 8", & 10"
• Turn and pencil mark 2-3/4" on top and bottom
• Diagonal cut from top of 4" score to side 2-3/4" mark, and from top of 8" score to other side 2-3/4" mark (save these pieces to decorate the card)
• 3-1/4" x 4-3/4" piece of Very Vanilla cardstock
• 3-1/2" x 5" piece of Basic Black cardstock
• Be sure to watch the How'd She DO That? video for a demonstration

I had fun decorating this card by extending the stamping to the inside of the card.  So when it's opened, it would like like a spooky moon scene.  The new Among The Branches stamp set worked perfectly to achieve the look I was going for.

DOstamperSTARS Challenge #147: Flurry of Wishes & English Garden...what?

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge.  This week we're having a Color My World challenge. 

For this week's color combo you could go in all differing kinds of directions; masculine, nautical, nature and more.  I recalled that the colors coordinate with Stampin' Up!'s English Garden Designer Series Paper.  So that's what I pulled out to use.

I didn't imagine I would make a Christmas card with it.  But the blue pattern paper made me think of a sweater and that led to snowflakes!  I pulled out the new Flurry Of Wishes stamp set and fun Snowflake Elements (both from the 2015 Holiday Catalog) and got to work.  The card actually came together really fast.  Making it a QC card (quick and cute)...perfect for mass-producing holiday cards.

You'll see I tied a piece of the new Silver Cording Trim to the snowflake and adhered that to the card with Glue Dots.  I can see myself reaching for that cording a lot.  It's economical too, as it's only $5.00 for 25 yards - wow!  

With cards like this, you could get a head-start on your holiday card making.
