8 Swap Cards filled with Winter Wishes!

This is my favorite Winter Wishes swap and it was created by my friend and fellow demonstrator Kay Kalthoff.  The collage of images is just perfect and the touch of pine boughs around the edges frames it nicely.  Added texture of the In Color Striped Cotton Ribbon, Woodgrain TIEF and Snowflake Elements brings it all together beautifully.  I feel like I'm at a ski lodge!

9 Beautiful Wonderland Swaps

I received some beautiful swaps this fall using Stampin' Up!'s Wonderland stamp set.  This Holiday Catalog set invites peace and serenity into your holiday season projects, adding gentleness and beauty to your holiday and winter cards. 

This my one of favorite swaps that I received from Mindy Gray at Founder's Circle.  I love everything about it...the color blocking, the embossed trees, the greeting banner, the Snowflake element and even the way she tied on 2 pieces of Gold Cording...love!

 

They are all beautiful, aren't they? I really don't think you can go wrong with this set.  Though...if you're wondering what to do with the antler image...take a look.

Control Freaks Tour October 2015: Remarkable You

Welcome to the Control Freaks October 2015. We are thrilled to have you join us today (we'll be fully-live by 10/20). Our tour features some of your favorite Control Freaks Stampers sharing projects made with Stampin' Up! products. In fact, you may have just come from the ever-talented Julie Davison's blog.

Remarkable You Gift Card Set

Ever since the Annual Catalog came out, I've been eyeing the beautiful floral stamp set, Remarkable You.  Remarkable flowers are for remarkable people. These big, bold flowers send a clear message of thanks and gratitude...perfect for Something to be Thankful For!

 

All three cards use the same size cardstock and supplies (with the exception of color, of course).  Here's what you'll need for this

2-Layer version of Triple Time Stamping Technique

• Temporarily attach 4" x 2-3/4" to 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Shimmery White cardstock
• Stamp images with Stazon Jet Black ink
• Color images with various ink using an Aqua Painter
• Pull-apart the layers.  Adhere the small panel to 3" x 4-1/4" piece of Basic Black cardstock
• Fold 1" Basic Black circle in half and adhere to side of card
• Fold 1-1/2" piece of ribbon in half and adhere to back side of circle
• Use Handheld stapler to staple 6" piece of Basic Black Baker's Twine, then tie in a bow.
• Adhere completed layer to larger stamped panel with Stampin' Dimensionals; take care to line up images.
• Adhere to folded 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base
• Enjoy!

Note:  Shimmery White cardstock works best for these cards, as it will hold up well when using the Aqua Painter.

 

I couldn't decide which image was my favorite.  So I wrapped all three up in a Sketched Dots Tag A Bag Gift Bag with a 2" strip of Everyday Chic Designer Series Paper, tied off with Basic Black 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon.  Now they are ready for someone I'm thankful for!

Northern Lights Stamping Technique & Sleigh Ride Edgelits

The Northern Lights Stamping Technique has been on my list to share with my Stamping Club for quite some time and last month I finally got around to it.  Long Distance Club Members will get their packets this month.

Northern Lights Stamping Technique

• Supplies: 
• Stamping Sponges, various Ink pads (Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry, Night of Navy)

• Instructions:
• On a panel of Whisper White, sponge ink colors to the top 3/4's of the panel starting lightest to darkest inks (Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry). 
• NOTE: Use more of a swipe and/or circular motion (vs pouncing). 
• Depending on the size of your panel, you may want to add additional swipes of sponging
• With a circular motion, sponge Night of Navy around the top and two sides of the panel filling in and around the rest of the top 3/4's area. Really press hard to get a deep "night" color.  Occasionally lightly swipe into/over the previous colors.  This is where the magic happens.  There is no right or wrong way.  It might take a few practice panels to get the look you want.  
• Stamp tree image with black ink
• Add finishing touches:
• For a winter scene...stamp snowflakes with Whisper White craft ink over the sky and finish with a panel of snow and Sleigh Ride Edgelit at the bottom of the card.
• For a summer scene...use a Gel Pen to add stars to the sky and sponge Old Olive to the bottom of the card for grass, or add a panel of grass and trees edgelit at the bottom of the card.
• Every time you do it, it will look different.  Have fun experimenting!
