DOstamperSTARS Challenge #158: Flurry of Wishes Banner Card

 It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge.  This week we're having a Home Sweet Home challenge. 

You could go a few different directions with this week's inspiration challenge photo; acorns, banner, color combo, fall, etc.  I decided to do a banner, but with using snowflakes to create a holiday card.  So I reached for the 2015 Holiday Catalog stamp set, Flurry of Wishes.  It's also available in a bundle with the matching Snow Flurry Punch (save 15%)..

• Start by stamping the greeting with Marina Mist ink on a piece of 4" x 5-1/4" Whisper White cardstock.  
• Then run it through the Big Shot with the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  

• Stamp the double snowflake image three times with Marina Mist on scraps of Whisper White.  
• Cut out with Snow Flurry Punch [139680].  
• Adhere a Stampin' Dimensional on the back of 3 small snowflakes and 2 large snow flakes. 

• Lay out the snowflakes on the stamped panel (don't adhere yet).  
• Note that the two side snowflakes will hang a little bit off the edges, just trim off the excess.  
• Start with the center snowflake and adhere it to the center of a 6" piece of Silver Cording Trim, then adhere to the stamped panel.  
• Repeat with the rest of the snowflakes by positioning the cording as you go.  
• Trim the off the excess Silver Cording.  
• Adhere the completed panel to a folded 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" piece of Whisper White cardstock.  
• Attach a Rhinestone Basic Jewels Embellishment to the center of each of the snowflakes.
• Enjoy!

11 Cards: Last of Fall Swaps

I'm heading out today to the Stampin' Up! On Stage event in Milwaukee.  I get to spend time with fellow leaders at the CentreStage Event on Friday.  Then Saturday I'm excited to be hanging with 10 of my STARS all day (a few other STARS will be attending the San Diego location).  After the event, we're having our own Shoebox Swap event at the hotel.  Sounds like a great weekend!  

I'm sure one of the things I'll be enjoying on the road trip to Milwaukee is the landscape.  I know that most of the leaves will have already fallen.  But maybe a tree or two will still have some color left.  If not - that's OK.  Today's cards have tons of fall color to be inspired by!

DOstamperSTARS Challenge #157: Winter Wonderland Sketch Card

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge.  This week we're having a Sketch challenge. 

 

I knew immediately I wanted to use Stampin' Up!'s Winter Wonderland products.  The card came together pretty quickly as I reached for the Winter Wonderland Specialty Designer Series Paper and coordinating stamp set Wonderland.

Winter Wonderland Sketch Card Measurements

• Winter Wonderland DSP (1"x 3-3/4", .7/8" x 3-1/2", 3/4" x 3")
• Whisper White card stock (4" x 1-3/4", 4-1/8" x 5-3/8")
• Basic Black card stock (4-1/8"x 1-7/8")

Though the card came together quickly, I couldn't make up my mind whether to use Silver or Gold Cording trim.  I tried each of them, but kept feeling like something was missing.  Then I thought - what if I use something both silver and gold.  So I chose the Gold Cording Trim and added a Winter Wonderland Embellishment for the touch of silver.  Also added a Rhinestone Jewel to a couple of the stamped snowflakes.

You probably noticed that I switched up today's sketch and turn it on it's side.  I think this is a very versatile sketch - whether landscape or portrait, you'll find lots of ways to interpret it (especially with all the choices of Stampin' Up!'s Designer Series Paper!).

My Control Freak Swap: Cozy Christmas with Petite Petal Poinsettia Punch Art

I just realized that I never shared my Control Freak Holiday Swap from September.  It seems so long ago.  I used the Cozy Christmas stamp set along with a Petite Petal Poinsettia Punch Art feature. 

I paired the Cozy Christmas greeting with the traditional Home For Christmas Designer Series Paper.  The patterns in this nostalgic seasonal paper invite you to take a trip down memory lane.  Super cute mix of holiday floral/greenery, and Santa & Rudolph.

Dawn's Measurements:

• Real Red (4" x 5-1/4" and 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base, and scraps for punching)
• Very Vanilla (2-3/8" x 2-5/8")
• Mossy Meadow (2-5/8" x 2-7/8", and scraps for punching)
• Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper (2 patterns - each 4" x 1/2")
