DOstamperSTARS Challenge #176: Rose Wonder in Blue!

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Home Sweet Home" challenge.

It's obvious from this week's photo inspiration that a person would choose a nautical or masculine card to make. But instead, I went with blue flowers! Specifically, the Rose Wonder Bundle, and I'm thrilled with the results. Take a look...

Wow, right?! Well, it was super easy to do. And guess what? I only used one color to easily "watercolor" the rose...Night of Navy.

Dawn's Rose Wonder In Blue card details:

Stamp rose image from Rose Wonder stamp set with Night of Navy ink on 4" x 5-1/4" Shimmery White cardstock
Quickly...Use Aqua Painter to wash color around the rose and leaves. (just the wet Aqua Painter - no added color yet)
Now add little by little, additional Night of Navy ink to flower center working outwards.
- No additional ink was added to the outer edges of the rose and leaves.
- Also, no purple ink was used. As more color was added, some of the tones started turning a purple hue. Unexpected, but gorgeous!

Let dry.
Adhere to folded 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" Night of Navy card base

Stamp greeting & frame image with Night of Navy ink. Die cut with matching shape from Rose Garden Thinlits.
Adhere to Metallic Foil Doily, then to card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Attach Rhinestones
Enjoy and send to someone special!

What do you think? I wonder what other colors would turn a different shade of color when it dries. Would be interesting to find out? Give it a try with some other colors and let me know.

10 Beautiful Rose Wonder Swaps & Mother's Day PSA

I'm here with the last of the Rose Wonder Bundle swaps I received or display boards from events I attended. With stunning rose images and a variety of sentiments, the Rose Wonder Bundle it's a good choice for many occasions. I think the "what a beautiful blessing you are to me" is a perfect sentiment for the soon-to-be-here Mother's Day (May 8th - only a month away). 6 Stunning Rose Wonder Bundle Swap Cards

Today I'm featuring some of the stunning swaps I received using the Rose Wonder Bundle. The bundle includes the Rose Wonder stamp set and coordinating Rose Garden Thinlet Dies...bundled together to save you 15%!

One of my favorites is this card created by DOstamperSTAR, Robin Anderson. It's a little hard to see in the photo, but Robin used the Wink of Stella Clear to brush on a beautiful shimmer to her card, making it a stunner!

Another favorite is Julie's clever stencil card. She used the Rose Garden die to create a stencil and added color in the negative spaces. Then removed the stencil to create this beautiful card!

Meg used the Baby Wipe Technique to stamp her roses. Add drops of ink onto baby wipes to create a custom ink pad!

DOstamperSTARS Challenge #174: Sale-a-Bration What I Love

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Color My World" challenge.

It was hard not to reach for the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper for today's color combo. But instead, I challenged myself to just use stamps. One of my favorite Sale-a-Bration stamp sets is "What I Love" . However, I really hadn't played with it too much yet. So I grabbed some Whisper White cardstock and today's three ink colors and starting to play around and I'm lovin' the results

What I Love card details:

Stamp "What I love" images onto 4" x 5-1/4" Whisper White cardstock panel as follows:
- "outline flower" image with Watermelon Wonder ink
- "solid flower" image with Blushing Bride ink
- "double leaf" image with Mint Macaron ink
- "fern leaf" image with Mint Macaron ink (stamp twice before reinking for more depth of color)
- "5-petal flower" image with Blushing Bride ink
Use Stampin' Sponge to sponge Mint Macaron ink, filling in and around white spaces. (use circular motion, pulling from outside edges inward)
Wrap Watermelon Wonder Dotted Lace Trim around completed panel and tie in knot.
Adhere completed panel to folded 11" x 4-1/4" Watermelon Wonder card base.
Use Watermelon Wonder ink & Rose Wonder Bundle to stamp "outline label" image onto scrap paper, then stamp greeting inside label. Die cut stamped label with matching framelit. Adhere with Stampin' Dimensionals
Tie Botanical Garden Jewel to ribbon with Whisper White Baker's Twine.
Send to someone special on their birthday! (#imbringingbirthdaysback)

Take a closer look...can see the Botanical Garden Jewels are a perfect match for this set? The small 5-petal flower image...it has a similar shape to the jewels. It looks like they were meant to go together...yay!

Control Freaks March 2016 Tour: Wildflower Fields Spring Cards

Welcome to the Control Freaks March 2016. We are thrilled to have you join us today (we'll be fully-live on 3/20). Our tour features some of your favorite Control Freaks Stampers sharing projects made with Stampin' Up! products. In fact, you may have just come from fellow freak Mary Brown's blog.

Our theme for this month is: Stampin' Up! Spring & Easter

Sale-a-Bration Wildflower Fields Mini Drapery Fold

I've been having so much fun with the Mini Drapery Fold I shared on 3/16/16. You should see my crafting table...folded DSP all over the place! So, of course I had to do a spring theme one for today's Control Freaks Tour.

Mini Drapery Fold Details

Start with 6" x 2" piece of Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper (Sale-a-Bration choice ends Mar 31)
Use Simply Score Tool to score at 3-1/4", 3-3/4", 4-3/4", & 5-1/8"
Turn and put a "tick mark" at 1"
Use Stampin' Trimmer to diagonal cut from the 1" "tick mark" to the 3-1/4" score line
Fold back and forth at each score line - like a fan fold
Adhere to 4" x 5-1/4" Whisper White card panel
There may be a slight overhang on the right side, just trim off with scissors.

The flowers are from the Grateful Bunch Bundle. Stamp with Basic Black Archival Ink and color with an Aqua Painter and Calypso Coral ink. Then punch with the matching Blossom Bunch Punch (adhere with Stampin' Dimensionals). Pearl Jewels were added to the centers.

Nice and springy!

Tea-riffic Wildflower Fields

I decided to stay with the same color combo for my second card. As my A Nice Cuppa stamps and matching Cups & Kettle Framelits were still out on my craft table, I thought I'd find a way to use them again. I'm not a tea or coffee drinker, but I've grown attached to this bundle, particularly the framelits.

While playing with the "scallop" trim pieces from the Cups & Kettle framelit, I discovered the two pieces could be used to create a longer piece of scallop trim. See how I used it under the Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper...cool, huh?

Tea-riffic Card Details

Die cut "hearth" from Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper (DSP) using Hearth & Home Thinlits.
Die cut "wavy" pieces from Cups & Kettle Framelits out of Lost Lagoon cardstock. Adhere to the back side of "hearth" piece to form a longer scallop edge trim. Then adhere to about 1/3" piece of doily. Then adhere completed piece to 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" piece of Whisper White Cardstock
Die cut "tea cup" from Lost Lagoon cardstock and Wildflower Fields DSP. Cut off handle from Lost Lagoon cup, then layer behind DSP tea cup.
Die cut "spoon" from Silver Foil Sheets - adhere behind cup
Position tea cup on card (don't adhere yet), them stamp greeting with Memento Black Ink. Now adhere tea cup with Stampin' Dimensionals
Punch Coral Calypso flower from Blossom Bunch Punch. Adhere smallest flower to cup with glue dot
Stamp and die cut "tea bag label". Punch 1/8" hole in tag and thread 10" Baker's Twine and A Nice Cuppa Embellishment onto tag and tie in a bow. Adhere to cup with a couple glue dots.
Punch Coral Calypso heart using Owl Builder Punch. Adhere to card with Fine Tip Glue
Adhere finished panel to 3-5/5" x 4-7/8" panel of Coral Calypso cardstock. Then adhere to folded 11" x 4-1/4" Lost Lagoon cardstock

Stampin' Up! Festive Flower Builder Punch, Friends & Flowers Card Ideas

As promised, today I'm sharing several Festive Flower Builder Punch ideas with you. These are swaps, display board samples and ideas from Stampin' Up! showing you several ways to use the Festive Flower Builder Punch paired with the Occasions Catalog stamp set, Friends & Flowers. Remember, Festive Flower Builder Punch is a 25% off Weekly Deal and ends 3/21.

This darling card is a "throw-back" idea that was popular years ago. I love Donna's take on it. It's a regular sized card with the front corners folded at a diagonal to create a "pouch". Great idea, huh?

Many of the greetings on these card are from the Occasions Catalog stamp set, Suite Sayings. It seems like they are a perfect match for the Friends & Flowers stamp set! Of course, you can't beat that darling bunny...cute, huh?
