DOstamperSTARS Challenge #177: Have a Cuppa Mother's Day Card

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Color My World" challenge.

What a sweet color combo we have to play with this week! I wanted to do a Mother's Day card with the Have a Cuppa Collection of products. Luckily, there was a couple sheets of Wisteria Wonder pattern paper in the Have a Cuppa Designer Series Paper Stack.

5-step Have a Cuppa card details:

Punch 2" x 5" piece of Have a Cuppa Designer Series Paper Stack (retiring) with Banner Triple Punch
Adhere banner to 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Wisteria Wonder cardstock, then adhere to folded 4-1/4" x 11" piece of Whisper White Thick cardstock
Die cut 3" x 2-1/2" piece of Whisper White Thick cardstock with large cup from Cups & Kettle Framelits (retiring). Stamp greeting from A Nice Cuppa stamp set with Wisteria Wonder ink.
Thread a Have a Cuppa Embellishment (retiring) onto 10" piece of Whisper White Baker's Twine and tie around cup handle. Adhere cup to card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Punch two Petite Petals flowers (Marina Mist, Pear Pizzazz cut in half). Punch Wisteria Wonder flower from Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack (retiring). Adhere flowers together with Glue Dots. Attached Neutral Candy Dot in flower center. Adhere completed flower to card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

This card is going to my daughter for Mother's Day. I think she'll like it, especially the spoon charm from the Have A Cuppa Embellishments . They are the perfect finishing touch!

DOstamperSTARS Challenge #175: Misted Block Technique with Flowering Fields

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Sketch Pad" challenge.

My DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge card features the Misted Block Technique. Ink up a clear block, mist it with water and stamp onto Shimmery White Cardstock (or Watercolor Paper). Simple!

Ink up Clear Block -size D (118485)
Mist block with water. I used a Stampin' Spritzer (126185) and spritzed it about 5-8 times.

Stamp on misted block directly onto (3-5/8" x 4-7/8") Shimmery White Cardstock
Pull block away from the paper. If you have pools of water, just dab off with a paper towel. Let dry.
- NOTE: each time you do this technique it will look very different. For my card, I got a few little drips and ink outside the "block", but that's OK. It only adds to the uniqueness & charm of the card.
Stamp images with Basic Black Archival Stampin’ Pad (140931).
- FREE Flowering Fields stamp set (last day to choose for Sale-a-Bration choice!)
- Rose Wonder stamp set (140697) for greeting.

Layer stamped panel onto 5" x 3-3/4" piece of Basic Black cardstock
Wrap Basic Black Bakers Twine around twice and tie in a bow
Adhere completed panel onto folded 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" Old Olive Cardstock
Attach two Rhinestones

Stamp flowers and inside greeting 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock
Ahdere 1" x 4" strip of FREE Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper (last day to choose for Sale-a-Bration choice!) to stamped panel and adhere to inside of card.

Ok, so I know my focal point is more square than the rectangle in the sketch, but I think it will do just fine! What do you think?

9 Sale-a-Bration Perfect Pairings Cards!

Before I get started...I've been receiving a lot questions about the 2014-2016 In Colors that will be retiring soon.

The official retired date is May 31st. Having said that, in past years they have run out of various In Color products prior to the end date (they are "while supplies last"). I immediately fell in love with it and knew I'd be showcasing it at my March Stamping Club. They all loved it!

DOstamperSTARS Challenge #174: Sale-a-Bration What I Love

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Color My World" challenge.

It was hard not to reach for the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper for today's color combo. But instead, I challenged myself to just use stamps. One of my favorite Sale-a-Bration stamp sets is "What I Love" . However, I really hadn't played with it too much yet. So I grabbed some Whisper White cardstock and today's three ink colors and starting to play around and I'm lovin' the results

What I Love card details:

Stamp "What I love" images onto 4" x 5-1/4" Whisper White cardstock panel as follows:
- "outline flower" image with Watermelon Wonder ink
- "solid flower" image with Blushing Bride ink
- "double leaf" image with Mint Macaron ink
- "fern leaf" image with Mint Macaron ink (stamp twice before reinking for more depth of color)
- "5-petal flower" image with Blushing Bride ink
Use Stampin' Sponge to sponge Mint Macaron ink, filling in and around white spaces. (use circular motion, pulling from outside edges inward)
Wrap Watermelon Wonder Dotted Lace Trim around completed panel and tie in knot.
Adhere completed panel to folded 11" x 4-1/4" Watermelon Wonder card base.
Use Watermelon Wonder ink & Rose Wonder Bundle to stamp "outline label" image onto scrap paper, then stamp greeting inside label. Die cut stamped label with matching framelit. Adhere with Stampin' Dimensionals
Tie Botanical Garden Jewel to ribbon with Whisper White Baker's Twine.
Send to someone special on their birthday! (#imbringingbirthdaysback)

Take a closer look...can see the Botanical Garden Jewels are a perfect match for this set? The small 5-petal flower image...it has a similar shape to the jewels. It looks like they were meant to go together...yay!

Sale-a-Bration Wildflower Fields Mini Drapery Fold

I've been having so much fun with the Mini Drapery Fold I shared on 3/16/16. You should see my crafting table...folded DSP all over the place! So, of course I had to do a spring theme one for today's Control Freaks Tour.

Mini Drapery Fold Details

Start with 6" x 2" piece of Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper (Sale-a-Bration choice ends Mar 31)
Use Simply Score Tool to score at 3-1/4", 3-3/4", 4-3/4", & 5-1/8"
Turn and put a "tick mark" at 1"
Use Stampin' Trimmer to diagonal cut from the 1" "tick mark" to the 3-1/4" score line
Fold back and forth at each score line - like a fan fold
Adhere to 4" x 5-1/4" Whisper White card panel
There may be a slight overhang on the right side, just trim off with scissors.

The flowers are from the Grateful Bunch Bundle. Stamp with Basic Black Archival Ink and color with an Aqua Painter and Calypso Coral ink. Then punch with the matching Blossom Bunch Punch (adhere with Stampin' Dimensionals). Pearl Jewels were added to the centers.

Nice and springy!

Tea-riffic Wildflower Fields

I decided to stay with the same color combo for my second card. As my A Nice Cuppa stamps and matching Cups & Kettle Framelits were still out on my craft table, I thought I'd find a way to use them again. I'm not a tea or coffee drinker, but I've grown attached to this bundle, particularly the framelits.

While playing with the "scallop" trim pieces from the Cups & Kettle framelit, I discovered the two pieces could be used to create a longer piece of scallop trim. See how I used it under the Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper...cool, huh?

Tea-riffic Card Details

Die cut "hearth" from Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper (DSP) using Hearth & Home Thinlits.
Die cut "wavy" pieces from Cups & Kettle Framelits out of Lost Lagoon cardstock. Adhere to the back side of "hearth" piece to form a longer scallop edge trim. Then adhere to about 1/3" piece of doily. Then adhere completed piece to 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" piece of Whisper White Cardstock
Die cut "tea cup" from Lost Lagoon cardstock and Wildflower Fields DSP. Cut off handle from Lost Lagoon cup, then layer behind DSP tea cup.
Die cut "spoon" from Silver Foil Sheets - adhere behind cup
Position tea cup on card (don't adhere yet), them stamp greeting with Memento Black Ink. Now adhere tea cup with Stampin' Dimensionals
Punch Coral Calypso flower from Blossom Bunch Punch. Adhere smallest flower to cup with glue dot
Stamp and die cut "tea bag label". Punch 1/8" hole in tag and thread 10" Baker's Twine and A Nice Cuppa Embellishment onto tag and tie in a bow. Adhere to cup with a couple glue dots.
Punch Coral Calypso heart using Owl Builder Punch. Adhere to card with Fine Tip Glue
Adhere finished panel to 3-5/5" x 4-7/8" panel of Coral Calypso cardstock. Then adhere to folded 11" x 4-1/4" Lost Lagoon cardstock

Another nice and springy card!
