DOstamperSTARS Challenge #163: Botanical Gardens Bundle

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge.  This week we're having a Sketch challenge.

DSC#163

When I saw this week's challenge (several month's ago) - I fell in love with the simple layout.  I knew I would use Designer Series Paper as the main panel and probably some kind of flower.  With the release of the New Botanical Gardens Collection - I knew right away this layout would be perfect for it.  Take a look...

I'm right, right?  Stunning!  The beautiful flower is paired with the new Botanical Gardens Designer Series Paper (3-1/4" x 4-1/2").  With a strip of Basic Black cardstock (4-1/2" x 5/8") going down the left side - it shows off the flower just perfectly.  Adhere it all to an Old Olive card base and everything just pops!

The greeting...that's from the new Rose Wonder stamp set, which is filled with not only gorgeous flower images, but beautiful greetings too (also comes in a bundle Rose Wonder Bundle with coordinating Thinlit Dies (140804).

True confessions time...I have to admit, when I first used the Botanical Builder Framelit Dies at the Milwaukee On Stage Event, I wasn't a huge fan.  That flower with the cut out petal centers really wasn't doing it for me.  So today I played a little bit with sponge daubers and ink (Cajun Craze, Old Olive).  That gave the flower and leaves a little bit of depth and aah...now, I'm lovin' it!  Just that little detail added so much.  Definitely get yourself some sponge daubers and give it a whirl.

What's that in the center of the flower?  It's a White Perfect Accent colored with a black Sharpie Marker.  The perfect touch (ha, get it...Perfect Accents, perfect touch. oh, never mind...lol).  I was giddy with excitement when I adhered it to the flower...love it when things work out as you see them in your head.

And yes, Stampin' Up! has a bundle of these Botanical Garden products for you.  However, it is a little bit different of a bundle, and more exciting as it contains three products!

  • Botanical Blooms stamp set (140757)
  • Botanical Gardens Designer Series Paper (140583)
  • Botanical Builder Framelits Dies (140625)
  • NOTE:  use Botanical Blooms Bundle #140819 to save 15% when shopping

If you like this card, then you'll want to add the Botanical Garden to your wish list.  PLUS, you'll earn a Sale-a-Bration free choice too!  Can't beat that!

Enjoy~Dawn O
