DOstamperSTARS Challenge #164: Botanical Builder Flowers

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a Home Sweet Home challenge.
For this week's photo inspiration, there are lots of inspiration to choose from...color, the blanket, the yarn the lamp and more! I focused on the flowers on the lamp and the color scheme.
Like I shared last week that I wasn't a fan of the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies. But now that I've been playing with them...oh my, I've lovin' them! For this card, I started by cutting a set of flowers and leaves from Marina Mist, Soft Sky and Rose Red cardstock. With only 3 passes through the Big Shot (with Precision Base Plate), I had tons of die cuts to play with. TIP: place all the dies on one sheet of cardstock for quick cutting! Then just play! I mixed and matched until I found the combos I liked. Then used a little sponging to give them a some depth - Marina Mist for all the blue die cuts (use a light touch when sponging the Soft Sky die cuts). White Perfect Accents complete the flowers!
At the last minute, I decided I wanted to give the leaf edgelit a try (it comes with the set). I liked the way the Crumb Cake cardstock popped, when it was adhered to the Rose Red card base. And lastly - the greeting is from the new Birthday Blooms stamp set.
If it wasn't for today's photo inspiration, I never would have selected this color combo. Seriously...blue leaves? But I think it works. Definitely took me outside my comfort zone. And sometimes, that's a good thing.
