Paper Piecing Technique with Stampin' Up! Get Well Soup
March 04, 2016
Seems lately that many of us have had the winter crud and it just keeps hanging on. I found myself needing to reach for get well cards and I didn't have any - yikes! I needed to get stamping.
Stampin' Up!'s Get Well Soup stamp to the rescue! Soup is great for what ails you, but it's hard to send. So instead, stamp a card with the get-well message written in a bowl of steaming soup. It won't be hot, but it will help show your concern.
This card was inspired by a swap I received from Ann Schach. I real liked the paper piecing technique she used, especially over coloring the bowl. If you've never Paper Pieced before, see below for a photo tutorial. NOTE: Before I started stamping, I punched the top two corners of a 5" x 3-3/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock with Curvy Corner Trio Punch.
Step #1: Stamp image three times with Basic Black Archival Ink. Whisper White (5" x 3-3/4"), scraps of Pacific Point and Crushed Curry
Step #2: Use scissors to cut out Pacific Point bowl and Crushed Curry soup
Step #3: Now you're ready to put all your pieces together. Adhere the bowl to the stamped white panel. Then use a Fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere the "soup" piece inside the bowl. Voila!! (Also, punch heart from Red Glimmer Paper with Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack)
Didn't these turn out cute? My local stamping class ladies thought so, as it was very popular card choice at my last class! Many of these are going in the mail tomorrow in hopes of brightening someone's day!
