DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #204: Halloween Night and Suite Seasons!

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge.  This week we're having a "Color My World" challenge.  

 

With today's color combo, I knew I would be reaching for Stampin' Up!'s Halloween Night products.  I need a few more cards for Halloween, especially for my grandsons.

Halloween Night Card

1. Apply Halloween Night Designer Washi Tape to a folded 11" x 4-1/4" Basic Black card base .
2. Wrap Halloween Night Bakers Twine around card front and tie in a bow
3. Stamp greeting (Suite Seasons stamp set) on 1-7/8" x 2-1/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Use Stampin' Write Markers (Perfect Plum, Old Olive & Pumpkin Pie).  Adhere to 2" x 2-3/8" piece of Perfect Plum cardstock.  Then adhere to card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
4. Attach Halloween Nights Enamel Dots.  Place one on the exclamation point. 

 

As this card is going to my grandsons, I thought it would be fun to bring a little spookiness to the inside of the card.  

• Ghost = Whisper White cardstock, Paisley Framelits, Pumpkin Pie mouth (from Spooky Fun stamp set)
• Bat = Basic Black cardstock, Halloween Scene Edgelits
• Witch = Old Olive cardstock, Halloween Scene Edgelits
• Greeting = from Spooky Fun stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I think they're gonna like it!   Now I just gotta get them in the mail.

• Adhere 4" x 1/2" Peekaboo Peach cardstock strip where the two pieces meet 
• Stamp greetings (from Tin of Cards stamp set) on Whisper White cardstock with Watermelon Wonder Ink.  Cut out with Decorative Label Punch and adhere with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Today's Feature: Moroccan Designer Series Paper

Today's Designer Series Paper feature is...Moroccan!

Moroccan Designer Series Paper. This paper collection perfectly captures the endless feeling of a night in Morocco. But it's also a great masculine choice.  Each sheet is double sided for double the creative options.

Moroccan coordinating colors:

• Cajun Craze
• Dapper Denim
• Delightful Dijon
• Early Espresso
• Emerald Envy
• Very Vanilla

Here's a fun card that uses folded Designer Series Paper to reveal both sides.  I didn't have enough Moroccan DSP left to use the same pattern for all for pieces, so I used 4 different pieces.  This card style is a great way to use up those scraps!  Here's how.

Moroccan Easy 4-Corner Fold card:

1. Using four 2" x 2-5/8" pieces of Moroccan Designer Series Paper, fold corners at the 3/4" mark.  (NOTE: 2 pieces fold the left corner and 2 pieces fold the right corner).
2. Adhere pieces to folded 4-1/4" x 11" Early Espresso card base
3. Wrap Emerald Envy Solid Baker's Twine around card front.  Tie in a bow.
4. Stamp greeting (One Big Meaning 138788w or 139420c) on scrap of Very Vanilla with Early Espresso ink.  Cut with 1-3/4" Circle Punch.  Adhere to card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
5. Easy...right?!

DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #203: Festive Birthday DSP with Stylized Birthday

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge.  This week we're having a "Sketch Pad" challenge.  

 

This first thing I thought of when I saw this week's Sketch Pad challenge was...Festive Birthday Designer Series Paper (Buy 3, Get 1 Free sale)!  So I dug out the pattern with the party banners and my card came together quickly...and cute!.  Here's how...

Festive Stylized Birthday card - 4 easy steps!

1. Adhere 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Festive Birthday DSP to folded 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" Tempting Turquoise card base
2. Stamp Stylized Birthday on 3" x 2-1/2" piece of Whisper White cardstock with Tempting Turquoise ink.  Adhere to 3-1/8" x 2-5/8" piece of Tempting Turquoise cardstock.
3. Create banners...(2) 1/2" (backside of DSP and Silver Glimmer Paper), one 3/4" strip of "dotted" pattern.  Cut banners into all three.  Layer together, then to backside of stamped image.  Staple (*) 8" piece of Bermuda Bay Baker's Twine to banners, and tie in a bow.  Adhere completed focal point to card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
4. Attach silver star shape from Metallic Enamel Shapes

The recipient of this card would be assured of a festive birthday!
