DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #229: Cool Treats & Celebrations Duo Folder

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Home Sweet Home" challenge.

As soon as I saw this week's challenge photo, I knew immediately what I was going to do. And luckily, it pretty much turn out from what was in my head. That doesn't happen often, but I'm glad it did, as I was running low on time this week. Check it out...

Cool Treats Celebrations Card

Run 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock through Big Shot with "celebrate" folder. (Celebrations Duo Folder)
Stamp "ice cream" images (Cool Treats stamp set) with the following ink: (start in the center of the "debossed word" and work outwards)
- Solid Peekaboo Peach with Flirty Flamingo swirl
- Solid Daffodil Delight with Flirty Flamingo swirl.
- Solid Daffodil Delight with Tempting Turquoise swirl (stamped off)
- Solid Flirty Flamingo on each end with Tempting Turquoise sprinkles
- Cones with Crumb Cake
Wrap retiring Bermuda Bay Baker's Twine around stamped panel twice and tie in a bow.
Stamp greeting with Tempting Turquoise ink on 3/4" x 3" strip of Whisper White cardstock. Adhere to card and staple.
Adhere completed panel to folded 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" Tempting Turquoise card base.

I'm totally giddy over this card. My grandson, Max is coming over this weekend to have his birthday sleepover. We did that last year and I guess it's now a "thing". I think he'll get a kick out of this card.

DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challege #228: Everyday Hero Mom

April 26, 2017

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Color My World" challenge.

Super stamps for super people: the stamping world never even saw this coming. Incredible stamps for every time you're amazed by a supermom, superdad, or one of the many heroes in your life! With Mother's Day right around the corner, today's card is for Mom!

Everyday Hero is Mom

Use Watercolor Pencils to scribble color onto 4-1/4" x 3-3/4" Watercolor Paper in "swatches" approximately 1-1/4" tall. Press hard to get a deep color. (Pacific Point, Real Red, Daffodil Delight.) Blend with an Aqua Painter. When dry, cut strips where colors meets (they'll roughly measure 4-1/4" x 1-1/4").
Use smallest star from (retitring) Stars Framelits Dies to cut three stars from each strip. Save one star of each color and brush on Clear Wink of Stella Glitter.
Fold 11" x 4-1/4" piece of Crumb Cake cardstock in half. Stamp "lines" image (retiring Gorgeous Grunge stamp set) with Versamark ink. Cover with Clear Stampin' Emboss Power and melt with Heat tool.
Adhere the 3 strips of color paper. The adhere the "glitter" stars with Stampin' Dimensionals.
On to 2-3/8" Watercolor Paper circle (Layering Circle Framelit Dies), stamp "mom" images (retiring Everyday Hero stamp set) with Archival Basic Black ink. TIP: start with "head" image working downward. (NOTE: the dots are from the Date It stamp set, or use a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to draw them). Color images with Watercolor Pencils and Aqua Painter. When dry, cover "clothes" images with Wink of Stella.
Adhere completed image to 2-1/2" Real Red Scallop Circle die cut. Adhere loops of Silver Metallic Thread to back side and adhere to card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Attach Enamel Shapes Brights to card.

Fun, huh? Change Mom to Dad and you've got a fun Father's Day card too! Be sure to add both the retiring Everyday Hero and Gorgeous Grunge stamp set to your shopping list and get them before they are gone!

Mother's Day: Watercolor Wings Bookmark Card

Today I'm sharing an easy Bookmark Card using the Watercolor Wings stamp set. This would make a great card for Mother's Day (coming May 14th), or the book lover in your life.

Watercolor Wings Bookmark Card (finished size 3-3/4" x 8-1/2")

Stamp 7-1/4" x 2-1/2" Whisper White cardstock (for bookmark) using Watercolor Wings stamp set:
1. Fern = Cucumber Crush ink
2. Butterfly & greeting = Watermelon Wonder ink
Stamp 3-1/2" x 8-1/4" Cucumber Crush cardstock with the same images & ink as the bookmark. TIP: To "match-up" the images...ink up stamp, place stamped bookmark over this panel, then eyeball where you want to stamp. Slide bookmark to the side and stamp. Repeat for each image.
Place Cucumber Crush stamped panel face down on Simply Scoring Tool and score every 1/4". Flip back over and adhere to folded 8-1/2" x 7-1/2" Cucumber Crush card base (scored in half at 3-3/4".
Punch 1/4" hole near top of bookmark. Loop ribbon through hole (from Cupcake & Carousels Accessories Kit). Attach Rhinestones on butterfly.
Create two Daffodil Delight cardstock "photo corners" measuring 1/2" x 1-1/8". Fold the left bottom corner diagonally up towards the center of the top edge. Repeat with the bottom right corner. They should meet together in the middle.
Add adhesive to the backside of the folded photo corners (use something strong like either Glue Dots or Fast Fuse (do not glue together).
Lay bookmark onto card front and insert photo corners into opposite corners and press them down firmly. Now the bookmark can be easily removed.

If you're like me and your mother is know longer with you. However, you may have other people in your life who are like "mother-figures" to you. Don't forget to send them wishes on Mother's Day too! I'm sure they'll appreciate receiving a handmade card from you.

Have a Super Duper Day!

Today I'm sharing a fun birthday card using the 2017 Occasions Catalog Super Duper stamp set.

With an aesthetic that is both timeless and age-adaptive, this Super Duper stamp set will dazzle anyone who has a birthday or reason to celebrate.

Have a Super Duper Day

Run 4" x 5-1/4"piece of Cucumber Crush cardstock through Big Shot with retiring Lucky Stars Texture Folder.
Cut two 3/8" strips of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper (1" & 1-1/4" - trim ends into banner), adhere to texture panel. Adhere 7/8" piece of Dapper Denim Ruched Ribbon. Staple a piece of Whisper White Baker's Twine and tie in a bow. Adhere completed panel to folded 11" x 4-1/4" Cucumber Crush card base.
Die cut Dapper Denim cardstock with retiring Star Framelits Dies (#4). Brush on Clear Wink of Stella around the edges. Adhere to card.
Use Dapper Denim Stampin' Write Marker, with the brush tip angled more flatter to the paper, draw "stripes" across a 4" square of Whisper White. Then die cut with Stars Framelits Dies (#3). Adhere over Denim star with Stampin' Dimensionals.
On scraps of Whisper White, stamp greeting twice (Super Duper stamp set). The Cucumber Crush, fussy cut out the whole image. The Dapper Denim image - only cut out the "banner of Super Duper" and adhere over over image. Then adhere to star with Stampin' Dimensionals.

You've Got This Foxy Friend!

What does the fox say? Today she's saying "she cares" by sending encouragement to friends and family. This sweet card uses the You've Got This and Foxy Friends stamp set .

You've Got This Foxy Friend

Add texture to 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Crumb Cake cardstock with Woodland Texture Impressions Embossing Folder and Big Shot. Adhere to folded 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Crumb Card card base with Fast Fuse adhesive (my favorite adhesive for adhering texture pieces)
Punch 4" x 2" piece of Very Vanilla cardstock with Scallop Tag Topper Punch. Stamp greeting (You've Got This stamp set) with Chocolate Chip ink (on right half of tag, leaving room for fox). Thread two pieces of Old Olive Bakers Twine through tag and tie in a bow. Adhere to card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Stamp fox image (Foxy Friends stamp set) with Calypso Coral ink on scrap of Very Vanilla. Stamp eyes with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Fussy cut out.
Stamp tree stump image with Chocolate Chip ink. Fussy cut out.
Adhere both images to tag with Stampin' Dimensionals.
