Control Freaks Jan 2017 Tour: Love Pocket Card and Candy Sleeve

Control Freaks Tour Badge - Dawn Olchefske #dostamping

Welcome to the Control Freaks January 2017. We are thrilled to have you join us the 20th of each month. Our tour features some of your favorite Control Freaks Stampers sharing projects made with Stampin' Up! products. In fact, you may have just come from the always creative, Wendy Weixler's blog.

Our theme for this month is: Occasions or Sale-a-Bration...I chose both!

So In Love Bundle

Stampin' Up! So In Love Bundle (2017 Occasions Catalog) & Delicate Details (Sale-a-Bration) card by Dawn Olchefske for Control Freak Blog Tour #dostamping

I created this lovely pocket card for my niece, Lindsey's wedding a couple of weeks ago.  I used Sweet Sugarplum because that was one of her colors.  I wanted something that would hold a gift card and I love the way it turned out.

So In Love Pocket Card

  1. Score 11" x 4-1/4" Sweet Sugarplum cardstock at 1-1/4" x 5-1/2".  Fold into pocket shape and adhere down the top 1-1/4" flap, then adhere 4-1/4" x 1" strip of Falling In Love Designer Series Paper to the flap.
  2. Stamp "lace" image (FREE Sale-a-Bration Delicate Details stamp set) with Sweet Sugarplum ink, just below the flap.
  3. Wrap gold Metallic Ribbon (FREE Sale-a-Bration choice) around the entire card (this keeps it closed) and tie in a knot
  4. Stamp "so in love" image (So In Love stamp set) with Sweet Sugarplum ink on scrap of whisper white.  Die cut with Tags & Labels Framelits Dies.
  5. Punch 1/8" hole at top of tag. Thread several piece of Gold Metallic Thread through tag hole and tie onto ribbon knot.

For the inside, I created a clever little pocket using the So Detailed Thinlits to hold a gift card

Gift Card Holder

  1. Slide 5-1/4" x 3-1/2" piece of Shimmery White Cardstock into the completed pocket card (from above).  Make a small mark with a pencil to mark where to stamp the greeting.  Pull out panel and stamp greeting (So In Love stamp set) with Sweet Sugarplum ink.  Let dry and erase pencil mark.
  2. Die cut 6" x 3" piece of Sweet Sugarplum cardstock using So Detailed Thinlits (Big Shot & Precision Plate, remove excess pieces with Big Shot Brush).
  3. Place stamped white panel over floral die cut - center it side to side.  Use Bone Folder and score the floral piece along the left & right edges of the white panel.  Fold floral piece along the score lines.  Add Fast Fuse Adhesive to only the bottom strip of the floral piece and adhere to the front/bottom of the panel.  Fold edges over each side and adhere in back.  (I did add a little bit of Fine Tip Glue to the back pieces of the floral piece, so the edges would stay down.)
  4. Insert a Gift Card into the floral pocket, then insert completed panel into pocket card.
