Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek: Thailand Make & Takes

I'm excited to share the Make & Takes I got to do while in Thailand on the Stampin' Up! Grand Vacation!

Painted Autumn Suite

One of the activities we get to do each day during the Grand Vacation is toss a bean bag for a chance at prizes. One of the prizes I selected was the new Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper! I'm a "fall" girl and love the colors in these papers.

We made three quick & cute cards using the DSP. The greeting is from the coordinating Painted Harvest stamp set (I predict this will be very popular!)

Merry Little Christmas Suite

These cute tags were made using products from the Merry Little Christmas Suite. There's a new punch shape bundled with the Merry Little Labels Bundle (oops - I see that I spelled that wrong on the photos).

This tag includes a snippet from the 7/8" Striped Ribbon. You're seeing the "middle" of the ribbon, as we trimmed the "wired" edges off. DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #241: Naturally Eclectic Suite

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Home Sweet Home" challenge.

The colors in today's photo inspiration reminded me of the new Naturally Eclectic Suite. Specifically the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper.

144185 Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper

Coordinating colors: Berry Burst, Emerald Envy, Fresh Fig, Lemon Lime Twist, Night of Navy, Peekaboo Peach, Soft Sky, Whisper White.
With so many colors and so many patterns, it offers an unlimited number of creative possibilities!

You're Just Lovely card

Adhere 5-1/2" x 3-3/4" piece of Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper to 5-1/2" x 4" piece of Night of Navy.
Fold in half a 2-1/2" piece of Pool Party 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon and staple to top right corner. Adhere panel to folded 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" Peekaboo Peach card base.
Use Versamark ink and Oh So Eclectic stamp set to stamp flower on Night of Navy scrap, and greeting & on Fresh Fig scrap. Cover with White Stampin' Emboss Powder and melt with heat tool. Die cut greeting with 1-3/8" circle Stitched Shape Framelits Dies (then stamp small "plus signs" with Versamark ink). Die cut flower with matching shape from Eclectic Layers Thinlits Dies . Additionally die cut two Emerald Envy leaves.
Arrange die cuts on 2-7/8" Lemon Lime Stitched Shape Circle and adhere with SNAIL and Stampin' Dimensionals. Adhere completed circle to card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Attach Basic Pearl Jewels

Glossy Floral Statements Hello Card with Tip

July 26, 2017

As promised...here's another Floral Statements card, but for when all you want to say is "hello".

Today's card uses Sponge Daubers for the coloring tool. With this card, I learned a new tip (at least new to me) for when coloring with a Sponge Dauber. I sometimes get a harsh "circle of color" when using a Sponge Dauber. Does that happen to you? Did you know...you can "blend it away" by wiping down those harsh areas with rubbing alcohol using a clean Sponge Dauber to blend & soften the color. Give it a try!

Glossy Floral Statements Hello

Ink up "hello" image (Floral Statements stamp set) with Versamark ink, then without stamping, ink again in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Stamp on 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Glossy White Cardstock. Cover with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder, then melt with Heat Tool.
Use Sponge Daubers with color flowers; Flirty Flamingo and Pear Pizzazz inks. With Sponge Daubers, it's best to ink them up, then dabbed off on a piece of scratch paper to avoid getting too much color and a harsh circle of color. If you do get a harsh circle of color, then blend away by wiping down with rubbing alcohol and clean Sponge Dauber to blend.
Adhere completed panel to 4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic Black cardstock. Then adhere to folded 5-1/2' x 8-1/2" Thick Whisper White card base.
Attach Basic Pearl Jewels.

Gorgeous, right?! Another simple but stunning card! In fact, I don't think you can go wrong with this set, no matter what color tools you use.

Monochromatic Floral Statement Thanks

Here's a simply but stunning card for when you want to say, "thanks". It features the popular new stamp set, Floral Statement. It comes with two floral images with the words cleverly weaved through them...genius!

These large detailed images will give you a big impact but also a delicate softness at the same time. Use with one color, or perfect for trying all the different coloring tools Stampin' Up! has to offer. For today's card, we're using a one-color monochromatic look with the 2017-2019 In Color, Fresh Fig.

Floral Statements Thanks

Fold in half 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" Fresh Fig card base. Stamp Tree Rings (background stamp) on card front with Fresh Fig ink
Stamp "thanks" image (Floral Statement stamp set) with Fresh Fig ink on 3-5/8" x 4-7/5" piece of Crumb Cake (aligning it slightly more to the right edge).
Wrap Very Vanilla 1/2" Lace Trim around left side of stamped panel, adhere on back side. Adhere panel to card front with Stampin' Dimensionals
Add linen thread to back of Corrugated Elements heart with glue dots. Then adhere to card with more glue dots.
Add Basic Pearl Jewels in a visual triangle.

Stop by tomorrow for another Floral Statements card using the "hello" image.

Whole Lot of Lovely Suite...the possibilities!

Here's a simple but stunning card made with the new Lots of Love stamp set and beautiful Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper.

Coordinating colors: Basic Black, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party, Powder Pink, Soft Suede, Tangerine Tango, Tranquil Tide, Whisper White

Note: The two middle sheets differ slightly from the photograph shown. Some print changes were made affecting the fronts and backs of two sheets. The print with the bold flowers on the black background displays the colorful stripes print on the reverse, while the Pear Pizzazz floral design displays the Powder Pink floral design on the reverse.

The Lots of Love images would look grand in any variety of colors. But you could also just use the greetings and pair them with the Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper, like today's card.

Lots of Love card

Run 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Shimmery White cardstock through Big Shot with Layered Leaves Texture Impressions Embossing Folder. Use an Aqua Painter & Pear Pizzazz ink to wash color over panel. Let dry, then adhere to folded 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" Tranquil Tide card base with Fast Fuse Adhesive (my favorite adhesive to glue down texture panels!)
Stamp greeting with Versamark ink on scrap of Basic Black. Cover with White Stampin' Emboss Powder, then melt with Heat Tool. Die cut with largest oval from Layering Oval Framelit Dies.
Use Paper Snips to cut out two floral images from the Whole Lot of Love Designer Series Paper.
Position greeting and flowers on card front. Then adhere with Stampin' Dimensionals.

CASE the Catty (CTC): You've Got Style

July 21, 2017

This week's CTC (Case The Catty) project is from Stampin' Up!'s Annual Catalog, found on pg 137.

For my card, I'm featuring the new You've Got Style stamp set. When it comes to style, I'm pretty sure the characters in this set's style matches their personality! If this set speaks to you--either for yourself or for someone you love--step up and add this bold and brassy set to your collection.

You've Got Style

Run 4" x 5-1/4" Powder Pink cardstock through Big Shot with new Polka Dots Basics Texture Impressions Embossing Folder.
Adhere Delicate White Doily to textured panel. Then wrap 1/2" Tranquil Tide Finely Woven Ribbon around panel and tie in a knot on the right edge.
Stamp woman from You've Got Style stamp set with Archival Basic Black ink on Whisper White cardstock. Color with the following Stampin' Write Markers: Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Basic Black, Smoky Slate, Powder Pink, Daffodil Delight, Soft Sky.
Die cut image with 3-5/16" oval. Adhere to 3-1/2" Tranquil Tide scallop oval (both from the Layering Oval Framelit Dies). Adhere to left edge of panel with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Stamp greeting with Tranquil Tide ink on 2-3/4" x 1-3/8" Powder Pink strip. Cut with Triple Banner Punch and adhere with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Add Basic Rhinestone Jewels
