Watercolored Cheery Chirps Partridge Card

October 13, 2017

Today I'm sharing a darling Cheery Chirps stamp set card. A partridge in a pear tree, two turtle doves, a rockin' robin, or a Christmas swallow—take your pick and make projects with your favorite seasonal bird!

This darling partridge bird sitting on a wreath makes me smile! I happen to collect holiday birds. Each Christmas I put up a garland on top of a set of 3 bookcases we have. I fill the garland with birds, nests and houses. I recall when I first started, it was pretty sparse, but now it's very full. It makes me smile to look at all of the various bird ornaments I've collected over the years - some received as gifts and hold a special place in my heart.

- Fresh Fig (5-1/2" x 8-1/2" card base)
Ink: Use Aqua Painter with Daffodil Delight, Fresh Fig, Calypso Coral & Wild Wasabi inks
Heat Emboss: Ink image with Versamark ink, then Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Stamp on Watercolor Paper. Cover with clear Stampin' Emboss Powder. Remove excess and melt with Heat Tool

Tip: Don't waste ribbon,

DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #252: Merry Cafe with Painted Autumn Paper

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Color My World" challenge.

What a fun color combo we have for you this week! It's actually from the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper. Can't get enough of that paper. It's a good think it's part of the Buy 3, Get 1 Free Designer Series Paper Sale!

I paired it with the new Merry Cafe stamp set. I haven't had a chance to play with it yet and thought they would go well today. And...it didn't disappoint!

Merry Cafe - Hello Fall

Adhere 1-3/4" x 4-1/2" piece of Very Vanilla to folded 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Cajun Craze card base.
On 1-3/4" x 1-1/2" piece of Very Vanilla, stamp the following Merry Cafe images:
1. greeting (Early Espresso ink)
2. solid leaves (Cajun Craze stamped off
3. outline leaves (Cajun Craze)
4. dotted image (ink only one dot with Early Espresso)
5. Adhere completed greeting to right side of vanilla strip.
Stamp Merry Cafe images and die cut the following pieces with Coffee Cup Framelits Dies (as shown in photo below)
1. large coffee cup = Early Espresso ink on Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper (included in Buy 3, Get 1 FREE sale)
2. lid = Early Espresso ink on Soft Sky cardstock
3. heart = Peekaboo Peach ink on Very Vanilla scrap
4. cup wrap = Cajun Craze cardstock.
Use Paper Snips to cut out trio of pumpkins from the backside of the "checkered" paper used for the coffee cup.

Wrap Linen Thread around coffee cup, thread on tag, then tie in a bow.
Assemble coffee cup. Then adhere cup and pumpkins to card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Attached Metallic Enamel Shape to tag.

Oh my gosh...I'm not sure what took me so long to play with this set. I'm lovin' it! Plus with all of the variety of images for upcoming seasons & holidays, I can see myself reaching for it often! Be sure to added to your Shopping Bag today!

If you don't have a lot of crafting time, today's card is for YOU!

Just Add Color Specialty Designer Series Paper has "open" designs printed on heavyweight paper, which are perfect for coloring or watercolors. Use any of our coloring tools, or leave as-is for quick backgrounds. Today we're keeping it simple by using a sponge dauber to Just Add Color!

Just Add Color Card - only 4 steps!

Use Sponge Dauber to add Emerald Envy ink to (2) piece of Just Add Color Specialty Designer Series Paper (4" x 1-7/8 and 4" x 2-5/8")
Adhere to folded 11" x 4-1/2" Thick Whisper White card base.
Stamp greeting (from Painted Harvest stamp set) with black ink.
Wrap Emerald Envy 5/8" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon around card front and tie in a bow. Attach Eclectic Shaped Paper Clip.

Tip: Can't find a punch or framelit for your sentiment shape? Create "white space" for it in your card design, like today's card.

Four Layered Leaves Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

Today I've got 4 more Layered Leaves Paper Pumpkin alternate card ideas for you.

As you probably know by now...I like to pull out Stampin' Up!'s Note Cards & Envelopes when I'm playing with Paper Pumpkin. I stocked up on them during World Card Making Day sale (which ends today - October 10th).

Here's a closer look at my Layered Leaves Paper Pumpkin Note Cards. Note: all cards include a top Whisper White panel measuring 3-3/8" x 4-7/8".

Up first is my favorite...it's just stunning in real life! Get out your Big Shot and die cut the pillow box. I kept the box flat and cut through both sides at the same time with the Lot of Labels Framelit Dies (#5 from the center - see Framelit measurements below).

Thank You Leaves

Adhere pillow box die cut to panel.
Adhere die cut olive and yellow leaves to die cut. Attach gold leaf sticker.
Stamp greeting on tag with Soft Suede ink
Thread 2-1/2" of Mini Gold Sequin Trim through tag hole. Wrap Linen Thread around sequin trim and tie in a bow. Adhere completed tag with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Adhere completed panel to Whisper White Note Card (& Envelopes).

Textured Trio Squares

This card, and the next uses just one of the 3" square cards from the kit.

Trim off a flat edge from the fold leaf sticker sheet (it will be approx. 1/2"). Adhere to Whisper White panel.
Sand the front of textured area from one of the square cards - use fine sand paper to reveal the white center.
Die cut with the smallest square from the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, and adhere to card with Stampin' Dimensionals
Stamp greeting with Soft Suede ink.
Adhere completed panel to Whisper White Note Card (& Envelopes).

Four Squared Gold Leaf

From the back side of the square card, die cut (4) of the smallest square using Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies - adhere to Whisper White panel.
Attach gold leaf sticker.
Stamp greeting with Soft Suede ink.
Adhere completed panel to Whisper White Note Card (& Envelopes).

Be Filled With Thanks

On Whisper White panel, stamp Leaves with ink from kit (Cajun Craze)...some leaves are stamped-off. Use Aqua Painter to move the stamped ink around to color in the leaves.
Adhere 1-1/2" x 3-3/8" piece of Cajun Craze cardstock to bottom of panel.
Wrap twine from kit around panel and tie in a bow.
Stamp greeting on smallest circle from Stitched Shapes Framelit Dies. Adhere to Copper Foil cut with 1-1/2" Circle Punch. Adhere to card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Adhere completed panel to Whisper White Note Card (& Envelopes).

This stylish autumn kit is gorgeous! I've yet to make the original projects, but I'm having a lot of fun coming up with alternate ideas. You'll find 2 of them below, and more coming tomorrow.

Layered Leaves Alternate Card Ideas

Be Filled With Thanks

Cut sides of envelope (from the kit) off to measure approx 2-7/8". Then open and cut off the end opposite the "rounded" flap, at the score line. Finished piece should be approx 2-7/8" x 5". Adhere to folded 11" x 4-1/4" Cajun Craze card base.
Wrap Linen Thread around card front and tie in a bow.
Stamp greeting on 3-5/16" wide Stitched Shapes Framelit oval. Adhere with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Stamp large leaf image on matching leaf die cut shape. Adhere to oval along with yellow and green leaf shapes.

Thank you

On 4" x 5-1/4" Soft Suede cardstock, stamp small leaves (one stamped off) and attach gold leaf sticker. Adhere to folded 11" x 4-1/4" Soft Suede card base.
Stamp large leaf image on 2-7/8" Whisper White Stitched Shapes Framelit circle. Adhere Copper Metallic Thread on back side with Stampin' Dimensionals, then adhere to card front.
Stamp greeting on tag. Thread twine through hole and tie in a bow. Adhere with Stampin' Dimensionals.

For the last day of my Spooky Night Suite Week, I've got 25 samples to share with you.

With tattooed cats, witches' hats, growling owls, bubbly potions, rats and more, you'll feel like you're walking through a haunted house. These spooky-licious Halloween projects come from various swap groups (AB Alumni & DOstamperSTARS), as well as display boards at the Creative Connections event last month.

Spooky Night Suite Week: Two Halloween Treat Packaging Ideas!

Before I get started, demonstrators received an update from Stampin' Up! regarding the World Card Making Day Sale and Fast Fuse.

There was an unexpectedly high demand for Fast Fuse, that Stampin' Up! needed to remove it from the World Card Making Day promotion at this time.

First up is a S'more Kitty Mini Pizza Treat Box!

Use Stampin' Up!'s Mini Pizza Boxes and 3" x 6" Gusseted Cellophane Bags and you'll be set in no time at all. Perfect for your Halloween parties this fall.

Here's what you'll need to make your own S'more Kitty Mini Pizza Treat Box:

Belly Band = 2-1/4" x 11" Spooky Night Designer Series Paper, scored at 2-1/4", 3-1/4", 6-7/8", 7-7/8"
Very Vanilla = 2-1/8" Circle (Stitched Shapes Framelit Dies)
Elegant Eggplant = Cat Punch (included with Bundle)
Greeting Banner = 1/2" x 2-1/2" Whisper White, stamped with Pumpkin Pie ink, trim ends into banner shape
Very Vanilla Solid Bakers Twine attached with Stampin' Dimensionals.
3" x 6" Gusseted Cellophane Bags (may have to trim down), tied off with 1/4" Stitched Edge Pumpkin Pie Ribbon
Mini Pizza Boxes
Non-Stampin' Up supplies: cat Peeps, graham crackers and snack size Hershey Bar

Next up...these adorable Reese's Peanut Butter Eye's Treat Sleeves.

These treat sleeves couldn't be easier to put together with Stampin' Up!'s 2" x 8" Cellophane Bags!

Here's what you'll need to make your own Reese's Peanut Butter Eye's Treat Sleeves:

Pumpkin Pie insert = 2" x 6" scored at 1/4" along each long side.
Slide into 2" x 8" Cellophane Bag and fill with candy.
Topper = Daffodil Delight cardstock stamp with black ink, cut with Everyday Label Punch. Staple to bag along with 1" x 3-1/4" folded piece of Spooky Designer Series Paper.
Greeting = 2-1/2" x 1" Pumpkin Pie cardstock stamp with black ink. Trim edges at an angle, adhere with Stampin' Dimensionals.
