It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Sketch Pad" challenge.

This week's sketch pad challenge comes together quick & easy. Especially with a Berry Burst monochromatic color scheme! Choose a larger image for the oval shape (like from the FREE Sale-a-Bration Happy Wishes stamp set) and you're ready to go!

How'd She DO That tips for Sale-A-Bration Happy Wishes card:

Stamps: Happy Wishes - Sale-A-Bration
Paper:
- Berry Burst (8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base)
- Whisper White (scrap for oval 3-1/2" x 2-5/8")
- Berry Burst (scrap approximately 2-1/2" x 5/8" for sentiment banner)
- Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper (4" x 5-1/4")
Ink: Berry Burst, Versamark
Heat Emboss: stamp "birthday" with Versamark ink on Berry Burst scrap. Cover with White Stampin' Emboss Powder. Remove excess and melt with Heat Tool. Trim end into a "flag" shape.
Other: Big Shot, Layering Ovals Framelits, Heat Tool, Embossing Buddy, Berry Burst Crinkled Seam Binding, Fast Fuse & Stampin' Dimensionals
Tip:
- Use Fast Fuse to adhere the ends of the ribbon to backside of Designer Series Paper-this ensures it isn't going anywhere and saves on ribbon.
- Monochromatic cards are easy with the coordination of Stampin' Up! supplies!

Tip: create a multicolored peacock (body & tail images)
1. First Ink stamp with Lemon Lime Twist
2. Then, before stamping, use a sponge dauber to add Bermuda Bay ink

3. Then stamp on Whisper White panel

6 Amazing Embossing Paste Samples for You!

Continuing the Embossing Paste topic from yesterday...I'm excited to share with you these amazing Embossing Paste cards created by one of my team members, DOstamperSTAR Bobbie Trost. At our get-together earlier this month, she demonstrated several different ways to use Embossing Paste. Below you can see her fabulous results.

But first - here's a little bit about the Embossing Paste products and what you can do with them:

Use without ink for white texture (make snow)
Apply over decorative masks using Palette Knives, let dry
Create colored paste by mixing in Classic Stampin’ Ink Refill (start with just a drop)
Mix with Stampin' Emboss Powder for some shine
Create your own background with a "smeared" look

It's hard to see in the photo, but embossing paste was added to the lower area of the focal point to create the look of snow.

Use Party Pattern Decorative Masks to create a sky background of clouds

Use Shimmery White Embossing Paste to give your clouds some shimmer!

Mix in some Classic Ink Refills to add color!

My favorite...add some Stampin' Emboss Powder (copper) for even more shine!

Just swipe a little patch of Embossing Paste over some Designer Series Paper to create a place for your focal point to land.

DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #266: Embossing Paste & Beautiful Peacock

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Product Spotlight" challenge.

True confession time...today was the first day I played with Embossing Paste. And guess what? I love it! I have to admit, I was a little afraid to play with it. I'm not that into "messy" techniques. Even though Embossing Paste is a bit messy, I prepared for it (see below for tips).

How'd She DO That tips for Beautiful Peacock Medallion Embossing Paste card:

Stamps: Beautiful Peacock - Sale-a-Bration free with $50 order
Paper:
- Whisper White Thick (11" x 4-1/4" card base)
- Whisper White (4" x 5-1/4", scraps for 2-3/8" & 1-3/8" circles - Stitched Shapes Framelits)
- Bermuda Bay (scraps for 2-1/2" & 1-1/2" scallop circles - Layering Circle Framelits)
Ink: Lemon Lime Twist pad and refill, Bermuda Bay pad and refill
Other: NEW Shimmery White Embossing Paste, Palette Knives, Pattern Party Decorative Masks, Silicone Craft Sheet, Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush, Basic Rhinestone Jewels, Fast Fuse & Stampin' Dimensionals

Tips for working with Embossing Paste:

Place a small amount of Embossing Paste on a Silicone Craft Sheet
Add one small drop of ink refill and mix up with Palette Knives (add more ink refill if you want a more intense shade)
Place Pattern Party Decorative Mask over 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White (secure a couple edges of the mask with washi tape so the mask doesn't shift on you.)
Use Palette Knives to spread colored Embossing Pasted over negative spaces of the mask.
When complete, remove mask and see your results.
Let dry (dries fairly quickly)
Be prepared to get messy!
- Keep paper towels nearby to clean as you go
- Have an aluminum foil pan ready with water to wash everything right away
- Have a towel ready at hand to dry everything.
- If you're ready for the mess, then everything will go smoothly

I know exactly who I'm going to send this card to. She has an affinity for peacocks and she'll love this card. Though, I may have to make another one, as I can't stop looking at it - it's SO pretty in real life! The photos don't do it justice (I think my camera was wrestling with the shimmer of the embossing paste).

his was one of the projects for my Stamping Clubs last week (TO GO members will get theirs starting February 1st). It was a real hit at the class, so I know you're gonna love it too!

Love is in the Air Week - Day#5: Extra Special Heart Happiness Love card

Today's Love is in the Air card is a Heart Happiness Love card.

This is a special card for that extra special person on your Valentine's Day list. It would also make a wonderful anniversary or wedding card.

How'd She DO That tips for Heart Happiness Love card:

Stamps: Heart Happiness
Paper:
- Basic Black (11" x 4-1/4 card base, scrap for word)
- Vellum (3-1/4" x 4-1/2")
- Powder Pink (4" x 5-1/4", 3-1/2" x 1/2" angle cut)
- Whisper White (4" x 3" for oval)
- Silver Glimmer (3" x 1/4" angle cut)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Stampin' Blends: Pink Pirouette (dark), Rich Razzleberry (light), Olive Olive - combo pack
Other: Big Shot, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, Layered Leaves Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Layering Ovals, Mini Silver Sequin Trim, Whisper White Bakers Twine, Basic Rhinestone Jewels (color with Sharpie marker), Fine Tip Glue Pen & Stampin' Dimensionals
Tips:
- Die cut Whisper White oval using two Layering Ovals together at the same time (center size 4 inside size 8 - see chart below)
- Repeatedly stamp the single flower image around the oval and color with Stampin' Blends. Adhere to vellum panel.
- Adhere "love" die cut to silver glimmer strip with Fine Tip Glue Pen (let dry). Then adhere to Powder Pink strip.
- Staple a piece of sequin trip and bakers twine to left end of "love" strip. Tie bakers twine in a bow. Adhere completed greeting piece to oval with Stampin' Dimensionals
- To adhere velum to card - on back side of vellum, add adhesive to the areas of the oval (then you won't see any adhesive marks)
