Control Freak Tour: Heart Happiness Love Notes Pizza Box

Welcome to the Control Freaks January 2018. We are thrilled to have you join us on the 20th of each month. Our tour features some of your favorite Control Freaks Stampers sharing projects made with Stampin' Up! products. In fact, you may have just come from my friend, Debbie Henderson's Blog.

Heart Happiness Love Notes

These darling little 3" x 3" cards (3" x 6" folded in half) turned out so cute. With using one of the small hearts from the Heart Happiness stamp set, I had a lot of fun experimenting with different colors, shapes and sayings to create different shapes. I found the greetings from the Lovely Friends stamp set had the perfect little sentiments.

With just a few colors, Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker and Basic Rhinestone Jewels (colored with black Sharpie Marker), I sure you could come up with even more designs (think flowers, maybe a frog, insects and more) - what fun!

Not only will you have fun creating Heart Happiness Love Notes, but you'll have fun giving them away. Leave them on your kids (or hubby) pillow or in their lunchboxes for a special little message from you!

Love is in the Air Week - Day#3: Heart Happiness LOVE Eclipse Card

January 19, 2018

Today's Love is in the Air card is a Heart Happiness LOVE Eclipse card.

Eclipse cards are all the rage right now. Basically it's raised images "backed" by the same image in black, just shifted to the side every so slightly - giving it an eclipse look. You can cut the letters from the main panel for an even more eclipsed look (which I did for this card).

How'd She DO That tips for Heart Happiness LOVE Eclipse card:

Stamps: Heart Happiness
Paper:
- Powder Pink (8-1/2" x 4-1/4 card base)
- Whisper White (4" x 5-1/2" & scraps larger enough to stamp 4 floral hearts)
- Basic Black (scraps for letters)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Stampin' Blends: Pink Pirouette (dark), Rich Razzleberry (light), Olive Olive - combo pack
Other: Big Shot, Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Large Letters Framelit Dies, Powder Pink Shimmer Ribbon, Multipurpose Liquid Glue & Foam Adhesive Strips
Tips:
- Arrange and die cut letters from 4" x 5-1/2" Whisper White panel. Add texture with Softly Falling Folders, then adhere to folded card base.
- Die cut each letter from four floral hearts - see photo below (color before or after with Stampin' Blends)
- Die cut letters again from Basic Black scraps. Adhere to back of stamped hearts - shifted slightly to the side
- Foam Adhesive Strips to adhere letters to card, in the negative spaces created in the white panel

When I was playing around with this stamp set, specifically the floral heart image (my favorite)...I found that many of the Large Letters Framelits Dies would "fit" in the heart. What a delightful discovery! I imagine with some clever positioning, you could spell out several words (names of people, etc). Wouldn't that be pretty, floral name cards?!

DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #265: Heart Happiness Hugs Card

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Home Sweet Home" challenge. It's also Day#2 of my LOVE is in the Air week!

Continuing with the LOVE theme week, this photo challenge is perfect! If you're looking for some quick & cute cards to send to your kids or grandkids for Valentine's Day - this "hugs" card is perfect too!

How'd She DO That tips for Heart Happiness Hugs card:

Stamps: Heart Happiness
Paper:
- Real Red (8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base)
- Whisper White (3" x 5-1/2")
- Basic Black (3-1/4" x 5-1/2" and 1/2" x 3" for Lovely Words Thinlit)
- Silver Foil (3-1/4" x 1/2")
Ink: Real Red
Other: Big Shot, Lovely Words Thinlits. Fine Tip Glue Pen
Tip: Stamping hearts
- visualize the whisper white piece as two rows of hearts.
- start in the bottom row center by inking heart image with real red ink, stamp off on scrap paper, then stamp on white piece.
- then stamp hearts upside down on either side of the first heart.
- continue by inking heart, stamp off, then stamp on right side (repeat for the left side).
- Turn white piece around and stamp the hearts in a similar fashion, but start with a full-strength heart in the middle - continuing with light hearts, then end with dark hearts)

LOVE is in the Air Week - Day#1: Heart Happiness LOVE Banner

January 16, 2018

With just one month away, Valentine's Day is approaching fast. To help you get ready, I'm doing a "Love is in the Air" week. I'll have some fun LOVE projects ranging from cards to decor, treats & more! Hey, that rhymes!

Several of the projects I'll be sharing throughout the week will feature the new Heart Happiness stamp set.

The Heart Happiness stamp set is full of hearts. You may have overlooked this sweet heart set on page 20 of the 2018 Occasions Catalog. It coordinates with the Annual Catalog Sweet & Sassy Framelits Dies AND the NEW 2018 Occasions Catalog Lots to Love Box Framelits Dies. You can never have enough hearts...can you?

My first project is surprisingly quick & easy, and definitely cute! Take a look at this cute LOVE banner...

Hang this sweet LOVE Banner on your door or entry-way mirror to dress up your home for Valentine's Day. It would also be cute for weddings & showers.

How'd She DO That tips for LOVE Banner:

Stamps: Heart Happiness
Paper:
- Whisper White (four hearts using Sweet & Sassy Framelits size #6 straight heart - see below, plus scraps for flowers)
- Powder Pink (four hearts using Sweet & Sassy Framelits size #8 straight heart - see below)
- Basic Black (scraps for Large Letter Dies)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Stampin' Blends: Pink Pirouette (dark), Rich Razzleberry (light), Olive Olive - combo pack
Other: Big Shot, Sweet & Sassy Framelit Dies Large Letters Framelit Dies, Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit (mini clothespins), Glue Dots & Stampin' Dimensionals (pop up small flowers)
Tip:
- Your banner can be short or longer, depending on how far you space each heart out.
- Start by laying the hearts out on a flat surface to your desired spacing.
- Measure out a length of ribbon the length of all the hearts & spacing, with at least 18" extra on EACH side (or longer depending on where you'll hang the banner)
- Then starting from the center of the ribbon working out from each side - attach letters to ribbon with mini clothes pins (or use glue dots for permanent placement)

Lots of Creativity Shared at DOstamperSTARS Get-Together & 16 Swap Cards!

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of hosting my DOstamperSTARS team for a get-together in my classroom. Whenever or wherever we gather, I know we're gonna have a great time and this was no exception.

This is Mackenzie Fuchs showing us ways to use the new Brusho Crystal Colours. She did an amazing job! In fact all of the sharing & demonstrating was fabulous. I'll share more about those another day.

My classroom is in the lower level of our home and I just love it! It's set up all the time with 4 tables, ledges for display boards, Big Shot & cutting station, "check-out" station, storage and more! When we moved 4 years ago - we spent lots of time looking for just the right place for me to do my business (hold classes/clubs, office & studio area, and a bathroom - all on the same level),

Watching the demonstrations!

During the sharing & demonstrating part of the meeting, we did a Facebook Live on our private DOstamperSTARS FB group, so people who are unable make the meeting in person (long distance peeps and such), can also "attend". Plus I'm able to "mirror" my phone with our TV - so everyone can see just a little bit better. Technology...isn't it great?! Good thing my hubby help set me up the night before!

Part of the get together is learning, sharing, recognition and of course stamping! Robin is enjoying decorating her Silver Mini Gable Box.

Then, of course we swap! Here's our swaps cards from the 2018 Occasions Catalog (we did a Sale-a-Bration swap too - I'll share those another day).

I didn't realize how cool Diane Lanfer's card was until I opened it up to take photos. What a delight to discover that it was a fun-fold card!

DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #264: Birthday Wit

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Color My World" challenge.

For today's Color My World challenge - one of the colors is "our choice". I picked Lemon Lime Twist. I think it's the perfect compliment for Basic Black & Whisper White.

Did you notice the Birthday Wit stamp set on page 9 of the 2018 Occasions Catalog? I certainly did and added to my wish list right away! This stamp set lets you say "happy birthday" with a sense of humor.

Other: Lemon Lime Twist 1/4" Ombre Ribbon, Basic Rhinestone Jewels & Stampin' Dimensionals
Tip: Don't waste ribbon,
- Run a vertical strip of Snail Adhesive down the black cardstock and play with the spacing of the ribbon.
- Use the "starburst" image to create your own background.

A Favorite QC Layout with Stampin' Up! Cake Soiree

Today I'm sharing a favorite quick & cute (QC) layout using the Cake Soiree stamp set and Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper. When I'm looking for uses for scraps of DSP, this layout is a nice choice.

How'd She DO That tips for Cake Soiree QC Layout card:

Stamps: Cake Soiree
Paper:
- Berry Burst (8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base)
- Whisper White (4-3/4" x 3-1/2", 1" x 4-1/2 for Banner Triple Punch and scrap for flower)
- Old Olive (4-1/2" x 1-1/2" x 4-1/2" x 1/2")
- Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper (4-1/2" x 1")
Ink: Berry Burst, Old Olive
Other: Triple Banner Punch, Wink of Stella Brush, Old Olive Bakers Twine & Stampin' Dimensionals
Tips:
1. Flower: stamp with Berry Burst ink, then blend color around with Wink of Stella Brush
2. Twine: adhere flower to banner with Stampin' Dimensional. Wrap twine around flower and tie in a bow.

This was one of my On Stage Display Helper cards. It was a perfect way to use a little scrap and showcase the awesome Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper. See below for a full supply list with links to shop online

Two For Tuesday: Quick & Cute Heartfelt Blooms

It's Two For Tuesday (TFT) again and I'm sharing two QC cards featuring the FREE Sale-a-Bration Heartfelt Blooms stamp set. I can't seem to get enough of this stamp set.

Both cards feature the same layout and floral ink colo (Calypso Coral). But when you switch out the pattern paper (from the Petal Garden Designer Series Paper) and ribbon (from the FREE Sale-a-Bration Glimmer Ribbon pack) - it makes both of these products go farther.
