Welcome to the A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop!

We are a group of stampers creating and sharing alternate ideas for Paper Pumpkin Kits. Today we're sharing ideas for the September 2018 Paper Pumpkin - Frights & Delights

I'm really enjoying the Frights & Delights kit. Even though I don't need a lot of treat bags, I'm having fun creating some alternate projects with the spooky die cuts.

For my first project, I immediately thought about making a banner with the treat topper tags.

Frights & Delights Banner

This fun banner uses supplies from the kit (plus scraps of black cardstock for the ghost & pumpkin). You'll notice that the "treat tags" are different sizes - here's how:

Short ones are folded on the pre-scored line
Longer ones are scored at 1" and then folded (do not fold on the original score line)
Each tag is folded over the twine and secured together with glue dots!
This was tons of fun to make and came together quickly - give it a try!

Frights & Delights Boo Card

I'm not sure why, but I'm drawn to Stampin' Up!'s new purples! So glad they compliment this kit nicely. Once I decided on my colors, everything came together quickly. Here's how:

Highland Heather Cardstock - 11" x 4-1/4" card base (score at 5-1/2")
Gorgeous Grape Cardstock - for three 1-5/8" squares using Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies
Everything else is from the kit!

DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #299: Joyous Noel meets Merry Christmas to All

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Sketch Pad" challenge.

For today's challenge, I turned the sketch on it's end. Then I reached for the gorgeous Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper. With it's copper foil accents, it brings the bling on its own!

I was so happy with the way this card turned out, and yet surprised at how fast it all came together. It's what I call a "Simple but Wow" card! I'll definitely be making a few more of these for the upcoming holidays.

How'd She DO That? tips for Merry Christmas to All card:

Stamps: Merry Christmas to All
Paper:
- Gray Granite (11" x 4-1/4" card base)
- Whisper White (large scrap for 3" Stitched Shapes circle die)
- Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper (4-1/4" x 3")
Heat Emboss: swipe Embossing Buddy over large scrap. Stamp greeting Versamark ink. Cover with Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder. Remove excess and melt with Heat Tool. Then die cut with largest Stitched Shapes circle.
Other: Big Shot, Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, Merry Merlot & Copper 5/8" Reversible Ribbon, SnowFlakes & Stars Wire Elements, Glue Dots & Stampin' Dimensionals

The fun wire accent is new from the Stampin' Up! 2018 Holiday Catalog, Snowflakes & Stars Wire Elements. I adhered it to the card with a couple of glue dots strategically placed (rolled glue dots into little balls).

Nature's-Poem

This card features some fun texture, as well as the masking technique, which I describe below.

How'd She DO That? tips for Rooted in Nature card:

Stamps: Rooted In Nature (146479w or 146482c)
Paper:
- Whisper White Thick (5-1/2” x 8-1/2" card base)
- Whisper White (4" x 5-1/4", 1-1/4" x 3-1/4" greeting, scrap for leaf)
- Nature's Poem Designer Series Paper (4” x 1")
Ink: Crumb Cake, Mint Macaron, Soft Suede
Other: Big Shot, Nature's Roots Framelits Dies, Nature's Twine, Copper Metallic Thread, Leaves Trinkets, SNAIL, Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals, sticky note
Masking Technique:
1. On white 5" x 5-1/4" panel, stamp “wood” image with Crumb Cake ink.
2. Stamp again on a sticky note (near top where the “sticky” area would be). Create a mask by cutting image from sticky note.
3. Place "mask" over the first stamped image (pulling it down just a smidgen).
4. Stamp leaf images over mask and partially on white panel. Stamp again without reinking.
5. Remove sticky note to reveal leaves peeking out under the wood image.

Tips to complete card:

Lay down some SNAIL adhesive over wood image (center, right edge). Wrap metallic thread around three fingers (3-4 times), pull off and press onto the adhesive.
Adhere DSP strip over thread. Lay down some SNAIL on top half of DSP. Pull 3 threads from 10-11” of twine, wrap around fingers, pull off and press onto the adhesive.
Adhere leaf die cut with glue dots. Adhere greeting with Stampin’ Dimensionals
Adhere completed panel to folded Whisper White card base. Then use a Glue Dot to adhere copper leaf trinket.

DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #298: Country Home Fun Fold Card

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Product Spotlight" challenge.

If you're looking for stamp sets that are perfect for coloring with Stampin' Blends, the 2018 Holiday Catalog is filled with lots of choices! One of them being, the Country Home stamp set, which at first look, I didn't get. I know, I know...what was I thinking?

After seeing my DOstamperSTARS stamping community's creations, I broke down and got it. And...I'm so glad I did. The images are perfect for Stampin' Blends.

This is one of the cards I offered at my Local Stamping Club Class this week (I have a TO GO option too). It was a hit, as it featured the Double Dutch Door Fun Fold and the Stampin' Blends.

The card "style" was shared with me by my friend & fellow demonstrator, Julie Davison (I love her work!),. Let's dive into this fun fold card.

How'd She DO That? tips for Double Dutch Door Fun Fold card:

Card base: 4-1/8" x 8-3/4", score at 5-1/2" (Crumb Cake)
Wrap around door panel: 2-1/4" x 8-1/2", score at 2-1/8" from each end (Crumb Cake) - adhere center area only, to back of card.
Top flap: 3" x 3-7/8" (Galvanized Metallic Paper with Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder)
Door Flaps: two 2" x 2" (Country Lane Designer Series Paper)
Focal Point: 4" x 2-7/8" (Whisper White), 4-1/4" x 3-1/2" (Thick Whisper White)

Everyone had so much fun coloring this Country Home image with Stampin' Blends. I heard many comments on how soothing it was to color with them. For me, my favorite thing about Stampin' Blends is...they make me feel like an artist. Here's the list of what was used.

Fast Fuse Added to Clearance Rack (while supplies last)

If you’re like us, you thought the days of Fast Fuse were done at Stampin’ Up! (You know . . . because we had already retired the product and everything!) However, our vendor reached out to us because they manufactured a surplus of Fast Fuse applicators and refills, and they offered to sell their excess Fast Fuse inventory to us.

One of the reasons we decided to buy this product was because of feedback we received from customers who still wanted to purchase Fast Fuse applicators and refills, and this was the perfect opportunity to make it available to them once again through the Clearance Rack.

Items Approaching Not-orderable Status

Sales for the following holiday catalog products have exceeded our forecast and are continuing strong, resulting in a significant number of backorders. It will be at least 30 days before these items are back in stock.

DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #297: Cauldron Bubble Bundle

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Home Sweet Home" challenge.

For me, the obvious choice for this week's inspiration was to use the new Toil & Trouble Suite products. They are so much fun to play with. In fact, I have several more ideas to share with you in the coming days!

How'd She DO That? tips for Witch's Hat card:

Stamps: Cauldron Bubble
Paper:
- Gorgeous Grape (11" x 4-1/4" card base)
- Pumpkin Pie (3/4" x 4")
- Basic Black (scrap for 2" circle punch)
- Whisper White (scrap for witch's hat)
- Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper (1-1/8" x 4")
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Stampin Blends: Mango Melody Combo Pack, Highland Heather Combo Pack
Other: Big Shot, Cauldron Framelits Dies, Black Solid Baker's Twine, Spider Trinket, Wink of Stella Glitter Brush, Glue Dot & Stampin' Dimensional

Before Stampin' Blends, I was not much for coloring. Now look at me...I look like an artist. That's my favorite thing about Stampin' Blends!

The photo didn't pick it up at all, but I have to mention it. My grandson, Max applied Wink of Stella Glitter to the stars on the hat. In addition, he punched all of the 2" circles and helped with Stampin' Dimensionals. He hasn't crafted with me in awhile and I was excited to have him offer to help - yay...so much fun!

I'm lovin' these little spider trinkets and had to use one on this card. I found an easy way to attach them and tie on the twine.

Spider Trinket Tip:

attach Spider Trinket on witch hat with glue dots
now that the spider is "anchored" it's much easier to thread the twine through the jump ring and tie in a bow.
secure bow with a glue dot.
