DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #304: Snow is Glistening

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Sketch Pad" challenge.

This week's Sketch Pad challenge is a simple layout. Great for mass producing holiday cards.

I reached for the new exclusive November Snowflake Showcase promotion stamp set Snow is Glistening (for the greeting), and the awesome Snowflake Trinkets (my favorite!). Paired it with what is apparently my new favorite color, Merry Merlot (as I keep reaching for it these days)!

Tip: Don't waste ribbon

cut a hole using the 1/8" Handheld Circle Punch
thread small piece of ribbon through hole and tie a knot

Tropical Escape: Day #5 Black & White with a Pop of Color!

It's Day #5, the last day of DOstamping Tropical Escape Suite Week!

Today's card is black & white, with a pop of color. If you like quick & cute (QC) cards as much as I do, you're gonna enjoy today's card!

If you didn't notice, there are several black & white patterns in the Tropical Escape 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper. The beauty of that is, you can pair it with any color you like. I paired today's card with Berry Burst - my current favorite color (yes current, as it does change from time to time.

Tropical Escape: Day #4 Tropical Treat Packaging!

It's Day #4 of DOstamping Tropical Escape Suite Week!

I'm really excited to share today's project with you...Tropical Treat Packaging! Talk about eye-catching...these will totally bring a smile to your face and mouth (even my hubby thought they were cute - he he)!

How'd She DO That? tips for Tropical Treat Packaging:

Stamps: Tropical Chic
Paper:
- Basic Black (2-1/4" x 9 scored at 8 1/2" for backer, plus 2-1/2" x 3/4" for greeting)
- Shaded Spruce (scrap for leaf dies)
- Granny Apple Green (scrap for leaf dies)
- Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper (2" x 6" for belly band)
Ink: VersaMark
Heat Emboss: Ink greeting with Versamark ink, stamp on Basic Black greeting piece and cover with White Stampin' Emboss Powder (remove excess). Then melt with Heat Tool.
Other: Big Shot, Tropical Thinlits Dies, Heat Tool, Embossing Buddy, White Stampin' Emboss Powder, 2" x 8" Cello Bag, Granny Apple Green 1/4" Textured Weave Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, Tear & Tape Adhesive (for wrap)
Non-SU: Dollar Tree Switzers Licorice Candy (Watermelon, Green Apple) and Stapler
Tips: see below

Treat Packaging Tips:

Insert 5 pieces of licorice into cello bag.
Place open end of the cello bag into the scored/folded end of backer piece and staple
Wrap belly band around the licorice and backer piece, adhere ends together on the back side with Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Then decorate!

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop: Friends of a Feather Oct 2018

Welcome to the A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop!

I'm excited to join this talented group of stampers to share alternate ideas for Paper Pumpkin Kits. Today we're sharing the October 2018 Paper Pumpkin Kit - Friends of a Feather.

Am I the only one that looks at the Paper Pumpkin envelopes first? Often times the inside of the envelopes is patterned, which gives the kits even more possibilities. And Friends of a Feather didn't let me down - in fact, there are two colored patterns - yippee!

My cards came together quickly using the inside of the envelopes and two punches, Pretty Label Punch and Starburst Punch.

This one is my favorite! I adore the Fresh Fig pattern from the inside of the envelope. The trick is to trim off 1/4" from the sides of the envelope and then unfold to reveal the pattern side. For both of today's cards, I used a piece measuring 5" x 3-3/4".

How'd She DO That? Tips for Friends of a Feather cards:

Paper:
- Fresh Fig (8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base)
- Whisper White (scraps for Pretty Label Punch)
- Cajun Craze (scraps for Starburst Punch)
- Envelope "paper" (5" x 3-3/4")
Ink: Fresh Fig
Other: Pretty Label Punch, Starburst Circle Punch, Rhinestone Jewels

Then I just had to use the other envelope with Grapefruit Grove. Which one do you like best? Grapefruit Grove or Fresh Fig?

DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge #303: Tropical Escape Day #3

It's time for another DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge. This week we're having a "Product Spolight Challenge - Product Suites" challenge.

Between the Annual Catalog and the Holiday Catalog, there are lots of product suites to choose from...21 to be exact! But of course, I went with the Tropical Escape Suite.

For Day #3 of DOstamping Tropical Escape Suite Week, I added a little stamping onto the Tropical Escape Designer Series Paper (DSP), to make it my own.

How'd She DO That? tips for Tropical Escape card:

The black dotted patterned DSP felt like it needed a little "lift". The leaves were stamped with Soft Sea Foam ink - a nice subtle color to add a little texture. Don't be afraid of stamping on DSP to get your own custom look!

DOstamping Tropical Escape Suite Week: Day # 2 - Let the Paper Shine!

Quick Tip:

When using dies like the Tropical Thinlits, cut several dies at a time from one piece of cardstock
Use different colors, taking cues from the DSP coordinating colors
