Rooted in Nature: Stunning Embossed Resist Leaves! (& last day of FLASH1018 sale)

You're in for a treat today. I have a stunning Rooted in Nature Embossed Resist technique card for you today. If you need a special card for a special friend, this is the card to make. See below for detailed instructions.

Emboss Resist Technique is an oldie but goodie stamping technique. Here's how...

Wipe Embossing Buddy all over a panel of Whisper White cardstock.
Stamp images onto cardstock with Versamark ink.
Cover with your choice of Stampin' Emboss Powder, remove excess powder.
Use Heat Tool to melt powder, let cool.
Sponge ink over the entire panel. (either Stampin' Sponge or Sponge Dauber will work)
Use a paper towel to remove any ink from the embossed images.
The areas where there is embossing - it will resist the ink and the images will "pop"!

The "skeleton leaves" from the Rooted in Nature stamp set are a perfect choice for the Emboss Resist Technique.

My camera had a hard time capturing the complete beauty of this card - due to the shine of the Copper Embossing and Foil sheets. Trust me - in real life, this card will make your recipient gasp as they take it out of the envelope! What a way to say "Thank You".

Welcome to Toil & Trouble Suite Week Day 5: Double Treats!!

For day #5 of Toil & Trouble Suite week, I have a couple of treats for you! A quick and easy Spider Candy Wrap and a darling Pumpkin Takeout Treat Box!

I found some Peppermint Patties Candy with spider packaging at my local grocery store (Cub Foods) and immediately thought of the Cauldron Bubble Bundle. This little "spider wrap" took no time at all. You could make a whole pack of them and you'll be done before you know it! Great for Halloween parties, co-workers, teachers and more!

How'd She DO That? tips for Spider Candy Wrap:

Stamps: Cauldron Bubble
Paper:
- Highland Heather (2" x 5-1/2" card base, score at 2-5/8" & 2-7/8")
- Lemon Lime Twist, Pumpkin Pie & Whisper White (scraps)
- Gorgeous Grape (2" x 1/4")
- Black Foil Sheets (2-1/4" square)
Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento
Other: Big Shot, Cauldron Framelits Dies, 1/8" Circle Handheld Punch, Spider Trinkets, Basic Black Solid Baker's Twine, Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets (for web), Glue Dots & Stampin' Dimensionals
Tip: I discovered the greeting fits on the ghost image for a fun shaped greeting! (stamp first, then die cut)

How'd She DO That? tips for Pumpkin Takeout Treat Box:

- Pumpkin Pie (8-1/2" x 5-1/2" piece will die cut 2 Takeout Box pieces)
- Thick Whisper White (1/4" x 2-1/4" banner)
- Window Sheet (approx 2" square - trim as needed)
- Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper (cut out pumpkin)
Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento, Pumpkin Pie (for sponging)
Other: Big Shot, Take Out Thinlits Dies, Call Me Clover 1/8" Grosgrain Ribbon (to tie off candy bag), Leaf Ribbon, Linen Thread, 2" x 8" Cellophane Bag, Stampin' Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Tear n Tape
Non-Stampin' Up!: Gold Paper Straw (Target), Reeces Pieces
Tips:
- Cut off 1" of the straw and place on a dimensional, then adhere to one of the box tops. Then wrap Linen Tread around dimensional to hide.
- To make the linen thread look like "vines", dip in Liquid Starch and wrap around a "sucker stick" to curl them a bit.

Welcome to Toil & Trouble Suite Week Day 4: Cauldron Card

For day #4 of Toil & Trouble Suite week, I have a Cauldron Bubble Bundle Card that shows off the Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper.

Keep Halloween cute with colorful designs and textural washes.
Coordinating colors: Basic Black, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Early Espresso, Gorgeous Grape, Granny Apple Green, Highland Heather, Lemon Lime Twist, Mango Melody, Petal Pink, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White
Many images match the coordinating Cauldron Framelit Dies: all of the cauldrons, hats & gray cats, plus some of the witches & brooms.

In fact, the only stamping on today's card is the greeting. Most everything else is from the Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper. The textured banner and extra layers are easy to add when you use the DSP for your focal point-little stamping and no coloring.

It's hard to see in the photo, but the star cut-outs are backed by a scrap of Black Foil Sheets. Which I think was misnamed It should be black patent leather - like the shoes I wore when I was a little girl - as that is what it looks like.

Finish off with the fun Black 3/8" Glittered Organdy Ribbon - makes the perfect touch. Speaking of the ribbon, my club members were discussing other uses for it. When someone suggested wedding, everyone went "ooh, great idea". So, it's not just for Halloween!

Welcome to Toil & Trouble Suite Week Day 1: Spider Cider

I've been looking forward to sharing more Toil & Trouble Suite projects with you!

Today I'm kicking off a week of fun tricks, treats and cards. For day #1, I have a super quick and easy "potion" for you!

Double, double toil and trouble;
