Apple Builder Punch: Pumpkin & Mercury Glass Designer Acetate

Today I'm sharing a couple of new products from the 2019 Holiday Catalog...Apple Builder Punch and the Mercury Glass Designer Acetate.

What happens when you combine the Apple Builder Punch to create beautiful die-cut apples (or pumpkins) for your projects with Mercury Glass Designer Acetate featuring a faux mercury glass finish on acetate sheets?

How'd She DO That? Mercury Glass Acetate Pumpkin card

Stamps: Gather Together
Paper:
- Cajun Craze (8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base)
- Crumb Cake (2" x 5-1/2" - prior to using Banner Triple Punch)
- Pretty Peacock (scrap for 2-5/8" Stitched Shapes square die)
- Come to Gather Designer Series Paper (for Apple Builder Punch - punch from full sheet)
- Mercury Glass Designer Acetate (for Apple Builder Punch - punch from full sheet)
Ink: Pretty Peacock
Other: Stitched Shapes Dies, Apple Builder Punch, Banner Triple Punch, Come to Gather Ribbon Combo Pack, Leaves Trinkets, SNAIL, Glue Dots & Stampin' Dimensionals

DOstamping Tips:

The Mercury Glass Designer Acetate is rather thick. DO NOT cut narrow strips (to save on paper) when punching out shapes using the Apple Builder Punch. Be sure to punch all three shapes at the same time (apple/pumpkin, stem & leaf) to extend the life of your punch.
Tips for assembling acetate pumpkin:
1. adhere acetate to same shape of Come to Gather Designer Series Paper (I used the white pumpkins with Pretty Peacock leaves - but you can use any color/pattern behind the acetate.)
2. adhere leaves trinket with glue dot
3. tie off 2-1/4" piece of Crumb Cake ribbon with coordinating Cajun Craze linen thread - in a bow. Adhere with glue dot.
4. flip pumpkin over and adhere stem with glue dot on the backside.

The Mercury Glass Designer Acetate will add a touch of vintage shimmer to all your projects this season. Don't forget to get the Apple Builder Punch so you can create a bushel or two of beautiful die-cut apples (or pumpkins) for your projects. Add these seasonal favorites to your shopping bag today!

Last of my Bone Appetit Paper Pumpkin kit alternative samples!

Here's the last of my Bone Appetit Paper Pumpkin alternative samples. Plus a couple more from my fabulous DOstamperSTARS team.

This Bone Appetit eye-catching Trick or Treat/skull border was not only fun to stamp, but it was really easy to create.

Just stamp the bottom row of sentiments first with Pumpkin Pie ink, filling in with the skulls with Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Then repeat on top.

The Bone Appetit Pencil Holder also came together quickly and is a great way to use the Bone Appetit kit for non-candy treats!

Trim off the top/bottom of one of the treat boxes.
Cut the 4 "middle" panels into two panels each (you'll get two holders from one box).
Fold in half around pencils and staple shut. Decorate as desired.

Here's two more ideas from the STARS:

I thought it was clever the way Bernadette used the negative area from the label dies and backed it with black cardstock.

The die cut skeleton, spider webs and foil labels from the Bone Appetit kit are a great way to decorate the new Coffin Boxes!

Two More Wonderfully Wicked Ideas

Like I said on Saturday, as I was playing with the Wonderfully Wicked stamp set, I came up with a couple more ideas. Both of these cards are quick and perfectly spooky, great for Halloween cards. Check them out...

This one was directly inspired from Saturday's card - the inside of the card. I combined individual greetings & images to create a custom sentiment. I thought it would make for a fun focal point, and it did!

How'd She DO That? Wicked Good Time card

Stamps: Wonderfully Wicked
Paper:
- Highland Heather (11" x 4-1/4" card base)
- Pumpkin Pie (1" x 4-1/4")
- Mango Melody (3/4" x 4-1/4")
- Whisper White (scrap for 2-1/4" circle punch)
- Gorgeous Grape (2-1/4" circle punch)
Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento, Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather
Other: 2-1/4" Circle Punch, SNAIL, Stampin' Dimensionals

DOstamping Quick Tips:

Stamp a few spider webs at the top of the folded card base with Gorgeous Grape ink.
NOTE: the spider web on the circle was stamped with Highland Heather ink.

This card is actually going in the mail to my hubby's sister who's birthday is 10/31 - that's right, Halloween. I always question him, "are you sure she wants a Halloween card for her birthday?". His answer is always, "yes".

This next one with the googly eyes is perfect for my grandsons - especially the goofy looking cat.

For this card, I used a sketch shared by my friend, Julie Davison. I enjoy working with sketches and this one was an easy one!

The googly eyes take the cat to a whole new level - ha!

Stamping with the STARS #324: Fall Halloween Inspiration - Wonderfully Wicked

The DOstamperSTARS are excited to bring you another Inspiration Hop #DOswts324. We decided to move up our hop a week to participate in World Card Making Day, which is today. Hope you get some card making done today.

Today we're showcasing Fall & Halloween inspiration!

For my card, I pulled my inspiration from the Trick or Treat image...the color scheme and the word as the focus.

I'd been itchin' to give the Wonderfully Wicked Bundle a try and I'm wickedly pleased with the way it turned out - he he!

How'd She DO That? Wicked card:

Stamps/Bundles: Wonderfully Wicked Bundle (includes Cup of Cheer Dies - saves 10%)
Paper:
- Gorgeous Grape (5-1/2" x 8-1/4" card base, scrap for "wicked" die)
- Whisper White (two 4" x 5-1/4" for inside and out)
- Mango Melody (3/4" x 5-1/4")
- Pumpkin Pie (3/4" x 5-1/2")
- Basic Black (scrap for spider die)
Ink: Highland Heather (webs), Gorgeous Grape (sentiment), Tuxedo Black Memento (sentiment)
Other: Wicked Dies, Assorted Googly Eyes, Monster Bash Enamel Shapes, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Snail Adhesive, Mini Glue Dots, Black Stampin' Dimensionals Combo Pack

When I made this card, I was delightfully surprised to discover the word just pop out of the die. Just give the die a little tap and voila! So I quickly die cut a few more to send out to some wicked cool friends - he he!

DOstamping Tips:

I recommend adhering the two strips together first, then adhere to the white panel.
Then adhered the die cut with Multipurpose Liquid Glue - use a light touch, a little goes a long way (I tend to have a heavy hand).
Adhere googly eyes with glue dot & spider with a Mini Stampin' Dimensional.
For the inside sentiment, stamp "wicked" first (with Gorgeous Grape ink). Then stamp the bat, so you'll know where to stamp the rest of the images.
NOTE: I was so excited when I stamped the inside of the card - I made another card using that as inspiration. I'll get it posted soon

The Wonderfully Wicked Bundle was lots of fun to play and create with, I'm sure you'll love it too. And if you're thinking it's only for Halloween, you really can use it for other occasions (mix and match with other sentiments).

Stampin' Up! Beauty & Joy: Easy Spotlight Card

Today I'm sharing a card that made me smile when I made it...love it when that happens. First off, I'm using a new 2019 Holiday Catalog stamp set called, Beauty & Joy.

This Distinktive* stamp set has a special texture that gives added depth and dimension in a single step, creating photo-realistic images. The basket particularly shows off the Distinktive style.

How'd She DO That? Beauty & Joy Spotlight card

Stamps: Beauty & Joy
Paper:
- Crumb Cake (8-1/2" x 4-1/4" card base)
- Very Vanilla (3-1/2" square)
- Early Espresso (3-5/8" square)
Ink: Crushed Curry, Terracotta Tile, Soft Suede, Early Espresso
Other: Sponge Daubers, Stitched Rectangle Dies, Linen Thread, SNAIL, Glue Dots & Stampin' Dimensionals

DOstamping Tips:

I recommend stamping the images from the bottom, building to the top.
For the leaves, ink stamp first with Crushed Curry. Before stamping, use a Sponge Dauber to add Terracotta Tile ink randomly to the leaves. Breathe on stamp to re-moisten and then stamp.
Stamp sentiment slightly overlapping leave image.
To create the "spotlight" - die cut sentiment with Stitched Rectangle Die.
When assembling card - adhere sentiment last with Stampin' Dimensionals.

When I first started stamping this card, I wasn't sure what direction I was going. I thought I'd add the sentiment as a separate layer. But I didn't want it to cover up the two-toned leaves. Then the idea hit me..."spotlight" the sentiment. It was the perfect way to step-up this card just a little bit. And...it was a hit at my club class last week!
