More Masked Celebrate Sunflowers

June 30, 2020

Here's another Celebrate Sunflowers masking technique card. This time using Stampin' Blends to color the beautiful sunflowers!

How'd She DO That? Sunflower Celebrate Masking card

Stamps/Bundles: Celebrate Sunflowers (or Bundle & SAVE 10% includes Sunflower Dies)
Paper:
- Whisper White Thick (8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base)
- Whisper White (4" x 5-1/4")
- Bumblebee (1" x 3-1/2" for sentiment – cut both ends with Lovely Labels Pick a Punch)
Ink: Early Espresso
Stampin' Blends: Daffodil Delight, Soft Suede & Old Olive
Other: Lovely Labels Pick a Punch, Gilded Gems, Stampin' Seal & Stampin' Dimensionals

DOstamping Masking Instructions:

On the Whisper White panel, stamp smaller sunflower image near the right edge/center. (shown as the 3rd flower from the bottom).
Create masks: on sticky notes, stamp flower and leaf images, then fussy cut each one out separately.
Use sticky note flower mask to cover stamped flower (pull slightly away from image), then stamp leaf as shown. Repeat for stamping flower/leaves above & below the first image. Then again for top & bottom images
Color with Stampin’ Blends.

This Celebrate Sunflowers card made me feel like an artist. With the right tools & technique, you can feel that way too. Give masking a try, then color your images with Stampin' Blends!

Oh my goodness - I just took a look at my Pinterest stats for the #DOswts341 Sketch Card I shared on Saturday...over 16,000 pins, already! So...I'm thinking you liked that sketch.

Here's another take on it...

DOstamping Tips:

Change the card position (from the sketch) to landscape for a different look.
Changed the In Color to Misty Moonlight.
Use the Flowers for All Seasons Designer Series Paper, it's a perfect backdrop for this card.

Stamping with the STARS #341: Fun Sketch with Fancy Phrases

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop: Box of Sunshine

Welcome to A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop!

I'm excited to join this talented group of stampers to share alternate ideas for Paper Pumpkin Kits. Today we're sharing the June 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit - Box of Sunshine

June Paper Pumpkin - Box of Sunshine

Kit contains supplies for 8 cards and envelopes (2 cards of 4 designs)
Card size: 4-1/4" x 5-1/2"
Coordinating Colors: Basic Black, Bumblebee, Crushed Curry, Poppy Parade, Shaded Spruce, White, and Gold

This month's kit is fun & bright. The theme of Sharing Sunshine is just what we need right now. At first I thought this kit would be just a little too bright for me. But when I started playing with it, I found I really liked it. I had so much fun creating alternative cards that it was hard to stop.

Here's FOUR of my alternative ideas using the Box of Sunshine Paper Pumpkin kit...

How'd She DO That? Brighten Your Day card:

This card's elements are all from the kit.

How'd She DO That? Sending Sunshine card:

Whisper White Thick 4-1/4" x 11" card base.
Front layer is from the back of one of the cards from the kit, cut down to 4" x 5-1/4
Everything else is from the kit.

How'd She DO That? Pineapple Smile card:

Fold card base from kit on score line, then cut in half at 2-3/4" (this will make two cards)
Decorate with a 1" x 1-1/4" strip, cut from the gold foil lined card (from kit).
Finish decorating with elements from the kit.
Wrap "half card" around card base of 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" Whisper White Thick (adhere on backside).

How'd She DO That? Lemon Smile card:

Cut large black polka dot sticker in half a 1-1/4" Attach to 4" x 5-1/4" Whisper White panel - trim of excess.
Decorate with elements from the kit.
Adhere to folded 4"-1/4" x 11" Daffodil Delight card base.

How'd She DO That? Masculine Happiest of Birthdays Fun Fold Card

Stamps: Happiest of Birthdays
Paper:
- Whisper White Thick (4-1/4" x 11" card base, score at 2-3/4" & 5-1/2"
- Whisper White (3-1/8" x 4")
- Night of Navy (3-3/8" x 4-1/4")

DOstamping Tips:

Color the Playing with Patterns Resin Dots with Stampin' Blends! I colored one of them with Night of Navy dark for this card. With our Stampin' Blends these resins dots can go with anything!
To assemble this fun fold card: fold bottom half into a Z fold. Only adhere the top of the sentiment piece to the card (with Stampin' Dimensionals). It holds the bottom half in place, until you unfold it to reveal the inside of the card.

I definitely recommend adding the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set to your collection - you'll use it all year long!

Celebrate Sunflowers: Masking Technique

June 18, 2020

Today's card is one of the projects I did for my DOstamping Club this month. It features the new Celebrate Sunflowers Bundle and an oldie, but goodie stamping technique called, Masking.

Celebrate friendship with heartfelt sentiments and a stunning set of sunflower images from the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set. I think any of your friends would love to receive this card. Here's how you can make it...

How'd She DO That? Sunflower Thanks Masking card

Stamps/Bundles: Celebrate Sunflowers Bundle (& SAVE 10% includes Sunflower Dies)
Paper:
- Whisper White Thick (8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base, 1" x 3-1/2" for sentiment punch)
- Bumblebee (4" x 5-1/4")
- Early Espresso (scrap for leaves die)
Ink: Early Espresso, Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush (use for flower center)
Other: Sunflower Dies, Gilded Gems, Stampin' Seal & Stampin' Dimensionals

DOstamping Masking Instructions:

Stamp large flower in lower corner of Bumblebee panel. (NOTE: this is when I used the Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush on the center of the flower.)
Stamp large flower again on lightweight paper or sticky note, fussy cut out. This is your "mask". Save with your stamp set.
Position mask over flower on stamped panel - pulling back slightly from edge of image.
Stamp leaf image on stamped panel, over the edge of the mask.
Remove mask. Now the leaf will look like it's coming out from under the flower. Pretty cool, right?

I was so excited about how this card turned out...yay! It's really another QC card and could be made in several different colors too.

Forever Greenery QC Card

Today's project is a Quick & Cute (QC) card, using products from the Forever Greenery Suite.

Why do I call them QC cards? Well...these style of cards are both quick and cute!

How'd She DO That? Forever Greenery QC card:

Stamps: Forever Fern
Paper:
- Pear Pizzazz (8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base)
- Whisper White (scrap for sentiment)
- Garden Green (3-1/4" x 5-1/2")
- Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper (3" x 5-1/2")
Ink: Pretty Peacock
Other: Label Me Lovely Punch, Forever Green Trim Combo Pack (gold twine), Gilded Gems, Stampin' Seal & Stampin' Dimensionals

DOstamping Tips:

Wrap gold twine around fingers 3 times. Pull off and twist, adhere to back side of sentiment label. Then adhere to card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Place 3 Gilded Gems in a "triangle" formation. (that's a thing)
