Stamping with the STARS #342: Star Inspired Card

The DOstamperSTARS are excited to bring you another Stamping with the STARS Inspiration Hop #DOswts342. This week we're sharing "star" inspiration.
Today's inspiration was suggested by my STARS team members and I thought it was a great idea. After all, we are the STARS! I chose to use Magenta Madness and Basic Black, as those are the colors of my DOstamperSTARS Team.
Even if you don't have any star images or die shapes, you could use a sentiment that represents "you're a star!" I found the perfect sentiment in the Daisy Lane stamp set (It's your time to shine) and then built my card around that.
ALSO - I used two NEW Aug-Dec Mini Catalog items, as they had just arrived (Banner Pick a Punch, Glitter Star Ornaments - available August 4) .
How'd She DO That? Time to Shine Star card
- Stamps: Daisy Lane
- Paper:
- Basic Black (11" x 4-1/4" card base, 1/2" x 3-1/8" for Banner Pick a Punch)
- Whisper White (4" x 5-1/4")
- Magenta Madness & Silver Foil Sheets (scraps for 2nd largest star die)
- Ink: Versamark
- Other: Stitched Stars Dies, Banner Pick a Punch, Glitter Star Ornaments, 3/8" Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon, White Stampin' Emboss Powder, Heat Tool, Stampin' Seal, Glue Dots & Stampin' Dimensionals
DOstamping Tips for Heat Embossing:
- I haven't heat embossed in a very long time. I forgot how much fun it is! If you haven't heat embossed in awhile, or you don't know how to...here you go:
- Stamp image on strip of Basic Black with Versamark Ink
- Cover with White Stampin; Emboss Powder
- Remove excess powder by "flicking" back side
- Use Heat Tool to melt powder.
- Adhere with Stampin' Dimensionals
I was super giddy when I finished this card. It's even better than what I had envisioned in my head. Love it when that happens!
