What is a Mystery Stamping Challenge?

You are given a list of supplies needed and then we'll make a card together using those supplies - during a facebook live video at 3pm (CT)

Here's your Mystery Stamping Challenge - CLUE #1 = Gather your supplies:

___STAMP SET: Choose a stamp set with smaller images to create a "collage" that will be stamped on 2-3/4" x 4" piece of cardstock. (We will be using 3 images to create the collage)

___INK: Choose 3 colors that will coordinate with the DSP choice listed below in #2.

___PAPER:

Card base to coordinate with DSP from #2 below: 1/2 sheet of cardstock folded in half
Designer Series Paper (DSP): (1-1/2" x 4-1/4")
Whisper White/Very Vanilla cardstock (2-3/4" x 4") for stamping (see STAMP SET NOTE above)
Coordinating cardstock for the sentiment: 1/2" x 4" or longer. Choose something that is a single line sentiment.

___EMBELLISHMENTS:

Coordinating small die cut or punched shapes
Rhinestone of matching color
Optional: Coordinating Twine

Stamping with the STARS #347: Sketch with Festive Post

September 26, 2020

The DOstamperSTARS are excited to bring you another Stamping with the STARS Inspiration Hop #DOswts347. This week we're sharing a fun sketch with you.

This is a classic layout. Use 3 shapes and layer on a strip of cardstock. Couldn't be easier!

Using the Festive Post stamp set and the Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch, I created a fun Halloween card. I also added a few extra features to mine for visual interest.

How'd She DO That? Festive Post Halloween card

Stamps/Bundle: Festive Post

- Purple Posy (5-1/2" x 8-1/2" card base)
- Mango Melody (scraps for postage punch)
- Highland Heather (1/2" x 5-1/2" for banner punch)
- Basic Black (7/8" x 4-5/8")
Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento
Other: Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch, 1-1/2" Metallic Mesh Ribbon, Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Stampin' Seal & Stampin' Dimensionals

Take a closer look...I'm lovin' the texture the 1-1/2" Metallic Mesh Ribbon brings to the card. I adhere it will a strip of Stampin' Seal adhesive.

DOstamping Tip:

Don't be afraid of customizing your stamps!
Use our Paper Snips scissors to trim stamp images. I like how they cut to the very tip of the scissors.
I just use the tip and cut very slow - be patient.
You'll get a lot more use out of your stamps!

DOstamping Tips:

Create your own background paper by collaging images.
Pick out three images and three colors.
Stamp one image at a time, randomly all over the white panel. Then move on to each image/color until your paper is filled as desired.
Stamp-off some images to varying the colors (like the pumpkin image)
Don't forget about the Holiday Rhinestones - there's lots of colors to coordinate with a variety of projects!

Gilded Autumn Suite Week Day 5: Herringbone Technique (Stamp Sale Coming Soon)

Today is Day 5 of Gilded Autumn Suite Week. Here's a special card that features the Herringbone Technique using the Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper.

How'd She DO That? Hey There cards:

Stamps/Bundles: Beautiful Autumn Bundle (Save 10%)

- Very Vanilla (4" x 5-1/4", 3-7/8" x 5-1/8, scrap for label die)
- Brushed Metallic (scraps for maple & oak leaf punches)
- Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper (four or more patterns - strips of 1/4" to 5/8" wide)
Ink: Early Espresso, Cajun Craze
Other: Tasteful Labels Dies, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Autumn Punch Pack, Acorn Trinkets, Linen Thread, Basket Weave & Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack, Stampin' Seal+, Glue Dots & Stampin' Dimensionals

Herringbone is a pattern made up of rows of parallel lines which in any two adjacent rows slope in opposite directions. Mine wasn't done is the traditional way. But it turned out fun!

DOstamping Tips:

Cover the 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" panel with Stampin' Seal + (or use Adhesive Sheets #152334)
Cut a variety of patterns in widths varying from 1/4" to 5/8".
Start by laying 1-3 strips down in a diagonal direction (as shown above). The strips will hang off the sides of the panel. Just trim off to the edge with a scissors.
Continue by laying down strips perpendicular to the first strips and trim to edge of panel. Repeat in various perpendicular directions until the panel is completely covered. Make sure all edges are trimmed off nicely.

All of the embellishments were adhered using Mini Glue Dots.

Gilded Autumn Suite Week Day 4: Fun with Designer Series Paper

September 20, 2020

Today is Day 4 of Gilded Autumn Suite Week. Today I have two cards with the same layout, but have completely different looks.

These quick & cute (QC) cards let the Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper be the star!

How'd She DO That? Hey There cards:

Stamps/Bundles: Beautiful Autumn Bundle (Save 10%)
Paper:
- Early Espresso or Mint Macaron (4-1/4" x 11" card base)
- Cajun Craze or Brushed Metallic (scraps for punch shapes)
- Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper (four of 3/4" x 4" strips for each card)
- Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper (3/4" x 4" strip of "speckled crumb cake" pattern for each card, for sentiment)
Ink: Early Espresso
Other: Autumn Punch Pack, Linen Thread, Stampin' Seal, Glue Dots & Stampin' Dimensionals

DOstamping Tips:

Stamp the sentiment on the "speckled crumb cake" patterned strip first.
Start by adhering the center strip first and work upwards, then downwards. NOTE: the sentiment strip is adhere with Stampin' Dimensionals - optional.
Wrap linen thread around card front twice and tie in a bow.
Finish off with an Autumn Punch Pack shape - adhere with Stampin' Dimensional.

I have to admit...I had an "oopsie" with this card. The sentiment was stamped crookedly. So instead of discarding it - I adhere it down. Then stamped it again on a slightly narrower piece (5/8" x 4") and popped that one up with Stampin' Dimensionals. In the end, I think it was a happy accident, as I really like the look of it better.

I like the way both of these cards turned out:

The Early Espresso card shows off the colors of the pattern paper.
The Mint Macaron card is a soft and elegant card.

Gilded Autumn Suite Week Day 3: Beautiful Abstract Autumn

September 17, 2020

Today is Day 3 of Gilded Autumn Suite Week.

Today's card features the Beautiful Autumn stamp set.

The idea came to me when I cleaning some of the stamps. I noticed how cool just the "solid" images looked stamped multiple times.

It technically uses the Stamping-off Technique. But I'm calling the card Abstract Autumn (because I think it's cool, which then makes me cool - right?)

How'd She DO That? Abstract Autumn card:

Stamps/Bundles: Beautiful Autumn Bundle (Save 10%)
Paper:
- Very Vanilla Thick (4-1/4" x 11" card base)
- Very Vanilla (4" x 5-1/2" and three of 1-1/4" x 5" strips)
- Crumb Cake (scrap for label die cut)
- Early Espresso (1/2" x 4")
Ink: Early Espresso, Soft Suede
Other: Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Tasteful Labels Dies, Banners Pick a Punch, Stampin' Seal & Stampin' Dimensionals

DOstamping Tips:

Stamping Off Technique for the 1-1/4" x 5" strips:
- oak leaf - ink image with Early Espresso. Stamp once, then rotate image and stamp again without re-inking. Repeat.
- acorn - ink acorn "bottom" with Soft Suede. Stamp once (do not re-ink yet). Ink acorn "cap" with Early Espresso and stamp once (do not re-ink yet). Then stamp bottom and top again (without re-inking). Repeat.
- triple leaf - ink image with Early Espresso. Stamp once and then stamp again without re-inking. Repeat.

I have to admit - I was filled with delight when this card came together. I suggest playing around with some of the other "solid" images to come up with your own abstract patterns.

Gilded Autumn Suite Week Day 2: Autumn Punch Pack Wreath

Today is Day 2 of Gilded Autumn Suite Week. I'm excited to share this Autumn Punch Pack Wreath Card with you!

This wreath card was so much fun to make, that I'm sure you'll want to create one too. It also uses the Beautiful Autumn Bundle. With the tips I share below, you'll have success creating your own wreath card!

How'd She DO That? Wreath card:

Stamps/Bundles: Beautiful Autumn Bundle (Save 10%)
Paper:
- Crumb Cake (4-1/4" x 11" card base)
- Very Vanilla (3-3/4" x 5")
- Cajun Craze, Mint Macaron, Crumb Cake & Early Espresso (scraps for punch pack)
- Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper (1/4" x 3-3/4")
Ink: Early Espresso
Other: Autumn Punch Pack, 2" Circle Punch, Linen Thread, Stampin' Seal & Glue Dots.

DOstamping Wreath Tips:

A 2" circle punch out works great as a template for the wreath. Lightly trace around it with a pencil.
Punch out 5 of each shape - maple leaf = Cajun Craze, oak leaf = Mint Macaron, acorn = Crumb Cake, acorn cap = Early Espresso
Tip off acorn caps and assemble together with glue dots.
Using pencil tracing and adhere shapes around the circle to create the wreath.
Finish off with a linen thread bow.
