A Perfect Match: Sale-a-Bration Beautifully Penned & Floral Squares Dies

One of the new products from Stampin' Up!'s Annual Catalog is the Floral Squares Dies. I purchased it right away, but am only now playing with it. I paired it with the neutral Beautifully Penned Designer Series Paper (a FREE Sale-a-Bration $50 level choice!)

With the Floral Squares Dies, you can make fun cards or adorable peekaboo elements with the individual pieces. You'll love seeing what you can do with the leaves and flowers. For these cards, I decided to bring the focus to the flower element, leaving the square a neutral black. I love the way they turned out!

How'd She DO That? Floral Squares card

- Basic Gray (8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base)
- Basic White (2-1/4" square )
- Smoky Slate (2" square)
- Basic Black (scrap for die cutting square)

Stamping with the STARS #369: Painted Christmas Suite

The DOstamperSTARS are excited to bring you another Stamping with the STARS Inspiration Hop #DOswts369. This week we're sharing Holiday Catalog inspiration!

Today's Holiday Catalog theme gave me a chance to play with the Painted Christmas Suite of products. It was one of the first holiday products I ordered. And...I'm in love!

As a Minnesota girl, I was immediately drawn towards the pinecones. So I chose the two patterns from the Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper that feature pinecones. I figured, they had to go together someone how. See what I came up with...

How'd She DO That? Painted Christmas Suite card:

Stamps/Bundle: Christmas Season (Bundle & Save 10% with Seasonal Labels Dies), Christmas to Remember
Paper:
- Evening Evergreen (11" x 4-1/4" card base)
- Basic White (scraps for die cutting)
- Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper (2" x 4-1/4, 1/2" x 4-1/4")
Ink: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen
Other: Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Simply Elegant Trim, Wonderful Gems, Stampin' Seal, Glue Dots & Stampin' Dimensionals

DOstamping Tips:

Adhered the two pieces of Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper to the folded card base.
Stamp & die cut the following:
- large & small pinecone images= Crumb Cake (solid image) & Early Espresso (detailed image)
- double holly leaves image = stamped off Soft Succulent
- double pine needles image = stamped off Evening Evergreen
- pine needles image & sentiment = Evening Evergreen
Arrange die cuts from the returning Wonderful Gems pack for a finishing touch!

Penguin Place Bundle Day #7: Cute Animal Punch Art

Penguin Place Bundle Day #6: Easy Flower Vase

How'd She DO That? Penguin Builder Flower Vase Punch Art

Paper:
- Basic White Thick (5-1/2" x 8-1/2"card base)
- Petal Pink (4" x 5-1/4")
- Basic White (scrap for Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch)
- Pacific Point (scrap for punch-vase x2)
- Granny Apple Green (scrap for punch-stems or hand cut)
- Lovely Lipstick (scrap for punch-3 feet for flowers)
Ink: Pacific Point
Other: Penguin Builder Punch, Rectangle Postage Stamp Punch, Baker's Twine Essentials, 2021-2023 In color Jewels, Stampin' Seal, Glue Dots & Mini Stampin' Dimensionals

DOstamping Tips:

Cut two Pacific Point "inside" body pieces. Cut off the top of both of them, just above the "neck" area.
Cut three Granny Apple Green flower stems - either hand cut or use the "large head" area of the punch to cut small slivers of cardstock.
Cut three Polished Pink feet for flowers.
Assemble with glue dots. Adhere 2nd flower vase to back side (will help with tying on twine)
Wrap twine around vase twice and adhere in a small bow.

What a delightful way to say, "thank you", don't you think?

Stamping with the STARS #368: Blackberry Beauty meets Be Dazzling

We interrupt the Penguin Place Bundle week with...

The DOstamperSTARS are excited to bring you another Stamping with the STARS Inspiration Hop #DOswts368. This week we're sharing this fabulous sketch.

Today's sketch was inspired by a card layout found on pg 6 of the Sale-a-Bration Brochure.

Stampin' Up! publications are my favorite way to get inspired. If I'm having trouble getting started stamping, I just have look at all of the creativity shared in any one of our catalogs and away I go.

How'd She DO That? Be Dazzled Blackberry Beauty card

Stamps: Very Versailles
Paper:
- Early Espresso (11" x 4-1/4" card base)
- Very Vanilla (3-1/4" square, 1/2" x 4-1/2" for sentiment punch, 4" x 5-1/4" for inside)
- Be Dazzling 6x6 Specialty Paper (3" x 4-1/4") - FREE Sale-a-Bration choice with $50 order
- Blackberry Beauty Specialty Designer Series Paper (3-1/4" square)
Ink: Early Espresso
Other: Lovely Labels Pick a Punch, Stampin' Seal, Glue Dots & Stampin' Dimensionals

DOstamping Tips:

For the focal point, start with a 3-1/2" square of paper (see cutting suggestion below). I adhered the Blackberry Beauty Specialty Designer Series Paper to the same size of Very Vanilla - to give it more stability.
Cut 3/4" strips from each end (total of two strips), then cut rest into 1" strips (total of 2 strips).
Adhere strips to FREE Sale-a-Bration Be Dazzling Specialty Paper with Stampin' Dimensionals. Start with the small "end" strips and fill in with the middle area with the larger strips.
I'm in need of several "thinking of you" cards and the sentiment from the Very Versailles stamp set is just right.
The new Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backers Dots are the perfect finishing touch!

DOstamping Tips:

I enlisted the help of the "stamping off "technique.
Ink up flower image and stamp onto white panel. Then without reinking, stamp again to get a lighter version of the same color.
This technique is perfect for getting different color tones for floral images.

I made this Delicate Dahlias card for a new swap I just participated in. I'm totally in love with the way it turned - exactly how I envisioned in my head. That doesn't happen very often.
