Retiring Hues of Happiness VIDEO: Secret Lock Fun Fold Club Card

You're in store for a treat today...the Secret Lock Fun Fold card!  This was one of 3 projects I did for my DOstamping@Home Club last summer, and want to share it with you today.

I came across this style of card on YouTube (Gerry's Craft Room).  It was more of a slimline card size and was done in portrait mode.  I loved the style of card, but wanted it sized to fit Stampin' Up! medium size envelopes.  So I put my math hat on and adjusted the measurements accordingly.

 

How'd She DO That? Secret Lock Fun Fold card

• Stamps/Bundles:  Happiness Abounds Bundle (includes Blooming Happiness Dies) - retiring
• Paper:
  • Granny Apple Green (8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base, score at 2-1/8" and 6-3/8") 
  • Granny Apple Green (three of 3" x 4-1/4, score two of them in half at 1-1/2")
  • Basic White (2-3/4" x 4", 3" x 4-1/4) 
  • Hues Of Happiness Designer Series Paper (two of 1-7/8" x 5-1/4", scraps for flowers/leaves die cuts) - retiring
• Ink:  Gorgeous Grape or Melon Mambo or Night of Navy (depends on the color contents in your project pack)
• Other:  Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Tear & Tape Adhesive, Stampin' Seal

Stampin' Up! Retiring Lists & Colors

It's that time of year.  Stampin' Up! retiring time of year!  

In addition, Stampin' Up! colors are undergoing a Color Refresh.  They typically do this every 5 or so years (last one was in 2018).  I've been kinda of expecting a refresh soon, so I'm not surprised.

Heads up:

• When you look over the retired list including Retiring Colors, don't be taken aback by it's size. 
• A color refresh typically rearranges the colors in our families too. 
• Which means the color families retire as well - along with their assorted color offerings. 
• Plus every color that is retiring, there are several products that come in those colors (ink, refills, markers, cardstock).
• All of that makes for a longer than normal list.

As both of our current catalogs are ending, you'll find two Last Chance lists below:

• VIEW:  2022-2023 Annual Catalog Last Chance List
• VIEW:  January - April Mini Catalog Last Chance List

Additional things you'll notice about the list:

• Discount prices:  DOES NOT START UNTIL April 4

Stamping with the STARS #400: Sketch for New Baby Kaladin!

As you could probably tell, I got behind in December.  That was due (in part) to a new addition to our family, this little guy, Kaladin. 

My daughter, Becky gave birth to a healthy 8 lb., 13oz. baby boy on December 9.  I can hardly believe it's already been a month.  Isn't he a cutie?

This was one of the cards I made for the new family.  I was inspired by the sketch, but moved the "details" to the left edge and stamped directly onto the Happy Forest Friends Designer Series Paper.

With the new year, comes a new catalog - yippee!  However, the catalog transition dates can be a little confusing.  Let me outline them for you.

• Wednesday, January 4 - LAST DAY to order from the 2022 July-December Mini Catalog
• Thursday, January 5 - FIRST DAY to order from the 2023 January - April Mini Catalog
• Thursday, January 5 - FIRST DAY to earn free Sale-a-Bration items with orders of $50 or more (choose when placing your order)

ALSO - as you can see, there is NO date where you can order from BOTH mini catalogs at the same time.  So be sure to plan order(s) carefully.

• Every dog needs some bundling up for winter weather, right?  And this Scottie Dog is no exception!
  • For his coat - punch dog from Sweet Sorbet 2022-2024 In Color Designer Series Paper.  Then trim off the tail, head and legs.  Note how I trimmed them with a bit of a curve.
  • For his booties - punch dog from Tahitian Tide scrap, then trim off feet.
  • Adhere pieces to a Basic Gray dog punch out with your favorite adhesive.
