Quick & Cute: Pretty Medallion meets Charming Sentiments

Today I'm sharing a Quick & Cute (QC) card featuring the Pretty Medallion background stamp and Charming Sentiment Bundle.

I had been itchin' to use the Pretty Medallion stamp and it didn't disappoint...I love it!

How'd She DO That? Pretty Medallion card

DOstamping Tips:

• Create beautiful, symmetrical designs on cards and other projects with the new Pretty Medallion background stamp.  
• For background stamps, I prefer to use the Stamparatus.  If I doen't get a good inked first image, I can stamp over it again for perfect alignment.
• For my card, I thought angling the image slightly would give it some visual interest.
• For additional visual interest, I add a tag using the new Designer Tags Dies.  Isn't is cute?!

DOstamping Tips:

• Stamp the floral spray image twice (be sure to stamp the second one upside down).  Leave a little space between them.
• Color with Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen.
  • daisy = Crushed Curry and Early Espresso
  • 3-petal flower = Cajun Craze
  • other flower = Cherry Cobbler
  • greenery = Old Olive
• Don't over blend or the paper will "pill"
• Take a closer look at the sentiment.  By die cutting an extra Basic Black banner, you'll get a lovely matted look to your sentiment.

I love the way this card turned out.  The images were small enough for me to have a successful watercolor experience.  Watercoloring is not normally  in my wheelhouse.  But with practice I have gotten better and I do love the look.

Stamping with the STARS #DOswts391: Decorated with Happiness Holiday Card

The DOstamperSTARS are excited to bring you another Stamping with the STARS Inspiration Hop #DOswts391.  This week we're sharing Christmas in July inspiration with you.

I've been itchin' to use the new Decorated with Happiness Bundle and today was the perfect opportunity to showcase it.  When I first saw the Jul-Dec 2022 Mini Catalog, I was immediately drawn to it.  And...it did not disappoint!

 

How'd She DO That? Decorated with Happiness card

• Stamps/Bundle:  Decorated with Happiness Bundle (includes Decorated Pines Dies)
• Paper:
  • Pool Party (8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base scored at 4-1/4") 
  • Basic White (4” x 5-1/4”) 
  • Basic White (scraps for ornaments)
• Ink: Garden Green, Real Red, Pool Party
• Other:  Mini Stampin' Cut & Emboss, Decorated Pines Dies, Festive Pearls, Stampin' Seal, Mini Stampin' Dimensionals

 

DOstamping Tips:

• All of the ornament "outline" images were stamped with Real Red ink, on Basic White cardstock.
• The key to this card is the Stamping Off Technique. 
  • Ink up the "fill-in" images, then stamp once (or twice) on a scratch paper, then stamp inside outline images to create a lighter version of the ink color.
• Have fun playing  around with a variety of coordinating colors!
• And...don't forget the embellishments.  The new Festive Pearls were the perfect touch (includes Real Red, Silver, Gold & Soft Succulent).

 

I did this card for a swap with my DOstamperSTARS Team.  One of the many activities we do throughout the year.  I did wafflle between which direction to go with, portrait or landscape.

Quick & Easy Masculine Card using Sale-a-Bration Sylish Sketches

Do you need a quick card for a man in your life?  Look no further than this  Sale-a-Bration card idea featuring the Stylish Sketches stamp set (FREE with $50 order)

I paired the Stylish Sketches with the Soft Seedlings stamp set.  I thought the styling of the senitments were a perfect fit.   I paired it with a plaid pattern sheet from the He's The Man Designer Series Paper.

How'd She DO That? Stylish Sketches Masculine card

• Stamps/Bundles:  Soft Seedlings (sentiment), Stylish Sketches (FREE with $50 order during Sale-a-Bration)
• Paper:
  • Soft Succulent (8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base) 
  • Very Vanilla (scrap for 2-5/8" x 3-15/16" Stitched Rectange die cute) 
  • Early Espresso (scrap for 3"x 4-3/8" Stitched Rectange die cute)
  • He's The Man Designer Series Paper (DSP) (2" x 4-1/4")
• Ink:  Early Espresso
• Other:   Stamparatus, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Stitched Rectangles Dies, Paper Snips, Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots, Stampin' Seal & Stampin' Dimensionals

 

The wolf is the perfect image for a masculine card.  The artistic image looks great left alone as an outline (like mine,) but you could also try coloring it with Stampin’ Blends to add more flair.  

DOstamping Tips:

• I recommend using the Stamparatus for perfect placement of the wolf & sentiment.  I was able to mount both images onto one plate and stamp them both at the same time.  Especially handy for when making multiples!
• For the banner - cut in 1/2" from the bottom middle of the 2" x 4-1/4" piece of DSP with Paper Snips.  Then cut from the two corners, at a diagonal into the banner, meeting at the end of the first cut.  Voila!

Stamping with the STARS #390: Free Sale-a-Bration Stylish Sketches

The DOstamperSTARS are excited to bring you another Stamping with the STARS Inspiration Hop #DOswts390.  This week we're sharing a Sketch Inspiration with you.

 

 

This week I was creating a card for my DOstamping@Home Club using the Sale-a-Bration Wonderful World Designer Series Paper (FREE with $100 order).  I had some scraps left, which was perfect for this month's sketch.

All I needed to do was to select a stamp set.  I picked the Sale-a-Bration Stylish Sketches stamp set (free with $50 order).  I like the styling of this set.  One of the images seemed to be some sort of fruit tree.  After a little digging around on the internet, I discovered it's a fig tree.  Perfect match for the paper I chose.

  2. Use Sponge Dauber to add Blackberry Bliss ink to the figs

  4. Use Blender Pen quickly move the ink color around to fill-in the image.  Do foliage first, then figs,
  5. Die cut with 1-11/16" Stylish Shapes circle
