Darling Details Day #6: Simple Friend Tag with Cute Border

Welcome to Day #6 of my Creative Connections presentation of the Darling Details Bundle. Today I'm sharing a simple tag that features a creative way to use a portion of a frame die.

How'd She DO That? Simple Friend Tag card

Stamps/Bundle: Darling Details Bundle (includes dies)
Paper:
- Basic White Thick (2-1/2" x 4" - see below for die cutting bottom edge)
- Basic White (scraps for punch and die cuts)
Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento, Poppy Parade, Parakeet Party
Other: Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick, Very Best Trio Punch, Double Oval Punch, 1/4" Black & White Gingham Ribbon, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals, Multipurpose Liquid Glue

When the idea of adding a border to the bottom of the tag came to me, I was having trouble thinking through the positioning of the die. But then I literally had to think outside-the-box, or rather outside the frame. See below for tips.

DOstamping Tips for Tag:

Die cut bottom of tag, by lining up the bottom of the tag with an outside edge of the large frame die.
Use Very Best Trio Punch - cut center "slot", then cut both top angle corners
Decorate with stamped/die cut flower/leaf/stem, oval punch sentiment, ribbon and rhinestones.
Attach to a present, card or gift bag. Then give to someone special!

NOTE: the colored mini clothespins were found in Target's Dollar Spot.

Darling Details Day #5: Gotta Love the Ribbon Border Die!

Welcome to Day #5 of my Creative Connections presentation of Darling Details Bundle. Today I'm sharing a card that features the super cute "ribbon border" die.

Of the many reasons I was drawn to the Darling Details Bundle, was the "ribbon border" die. It really caught my eye. I thought it was charming and cute. Let me tell you...it did not disappoint. I love it!

How'd She DO That? Ribbon Border Birthday card

Stamps/Bundle: Darling Details Bundle (includes dies)
Paper:
- Parakeet Party (8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base)
- Basic White (2-3/4" x 5-1/2, scrap for punch)
- Basic Black (two of 1" x 5-1/2" - one for die cutting ribbon border - see tips below)
Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento, Poppy Parade, Parakeet Party, Highland Heather, Daffodil Delight
Other: Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Take Your Pick, Double Oval Punch, 1/8" Parakeet Party Metallic Woven Ribbon , Classic Matte Dots. Stampin' Seal, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots

How cute is this ribbon border die cut? See below for tips on using it.

DOstamping Tips for Ribbon Border Die:

I recommend using a 1" x 6" strip of cardstock when die cutting the ribbon border die shape. The die is actually thinner than 1", but you'll enjoy the extra area for adhesive.
For ribbon selection, it works best with 1/4", but you can also use 1/8" (see my suggestions below)
Also - I found the "stiffer" the ribbon, the easier it was to thread through the die cut. Maybe use a needle to thread the Metallic Woven Ribbon (2022-2024 In Colors) - that would help.
For pattern ribbon, I found that flipping the die cut over to the back side will show off the pattern better, so give that a try. (see black/white 1/4" gingham ribbon at the top of the photo)

Darling Details Bundle Day #4: Ooh, The Frames!

Welcome to Day #4 of my Creative Connections presentation of Darling Details Bundle. Today I'm sharing a card that features the fabulous frame dies that come with this bundle!

This might be my favorite card of the bunch. I love the colors, the way the frame turned out (see tips below) and the touch of ribbon!

How cute is this altered frame?

I discovered this altered frame trick when playing around with the Darling Details Dies frames.

DOstamping Tips:

To die cut an "altered frame": place both large and small frames onto a 4" x 5-1/4" panel
Run everything through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine all at the same time.
Something to note, both frame dies ONLY cut the decorative details and the INSIDE of the frame.
So when die cut both at the same time, you get three pieces, shown below.
I used the "skinny" altered frame on this card...I love the way it turned out.

I have to pat myself on the back for this idea. It think it's brilliant. What do you think?

Welcome to Day #3 of my Creative Connections presentation of Darling Details Bundle. Today I'm sharing a One Sheet Wonder project and Color Buddies.

What is a One Sheet Wonder (OSW)?

Good question. For this project, it's an 8-1/2" x 11" piece of Basic White cardstock, randomly stamped over the entire piece. Then cut into multiple pieces to create multiple cards.
One of the first things you'll need to decide when you're stamping a One Sheet Wonder is...what colors you'll want to use. As the Darling Details stamp set is a 2-step stamp set, knowing what colors go together is a good first start. See below for the "Color Buddies" I used.
For stamping, always start with your largest image and work down towards the smallest images.
Stamping off is a good technique to enlist for OSW. For mine, I stamped these the large solid flower (Bubble Bath) and tiny flower (Gorgeous Grape) both in full strength and stamped-off to get a variety of color tones. (It's hard to see the stamped off Bubble Bath large flowers, but they are there to help fill in even more white space).
Note: if after stamping the entire sheet, you find you have too much white space...continue to add images until you're satisfied. This can also be done after cutting your OSW.
For my project - I cut the sheet in in half at 4-1/4", then cut everything into 2" strips. Got enough for 10 cards! Perfect for mass-producing cards for the holidays.

Creative Connections Event with Sara Douglass

Today I'm excited to kick off sharing of my presentation from the Stamp Share For Leaders Creative Connections Event!

This event was selected to be one of Stampin' Up! 35 for 35 events, to celebrate their 35th Anniversary!

We were lucky to have Sara Douglass (CEO) and Logan Sutherland (VP People & Culture) attend, and stamp for us! My DOstamperSTARS Team got a picture with Sara. Notice that we're all beaming, as this was after the event and our cup runneth over with inspiration, and of course, Sara!

Throughout the coming days and week, I will be sharing my Darling Details Bundle creations with you.

For Day #1, I'll start off with a Quick & Cute QC card that doesn't require a lot of supplies. Check it out...

How'd She DO That? Darling Details Just a Note QC card

Stamps: Darling Details

- Bubble Bath (8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base, 2-3/8" x 3-5/8"
- Basic White (3/4" x 2-1/4" prior to cutting with Banners Pick a Punch
Ink: Berry Burst
Other: Banners Pick a Punch, 3/8" Sheet Ribbon Combo Pack, Basic Rhinestone Jewels. Stampin' Dimensionals

DOstamping Tips:

Stamp focal point piece at the top half first. Then turn 180 degrees and stamp other half.
I recommend stamping large flower, large leaf and small bud images first. Then stamp stem, you will need a scrap piece of paper to "mask-off" area of leaf, as the stem is longer than shown.
Wrap ribbon twice around lower half of panel and finish in a bow (ooh, love this ribbon!). Adhere to card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
